Glad to realize that I can connect so much anime together. Then there's my on-hold... Lol. That's for another time. Time to continue watching Heartcatch Precure! lol. Its OP and ED are neat.

Anime with dark/serious plots but with a bright colorful palette for most of the anime. Clear blue sunny skies and saturated colors are to be expected.

NOTE THAT THIS IS BASED ON AESTHETICS ONLY. That means, this has nothing to do with "Not what it seems" as some of these are dark from the beginning despite keeping a constantly colorful palette like Phantom Requiem for the Phantom or Summertime Render.

The plot gets considerably darker in season 2 yet it retains the appearance of season one, which isn't dark enough to make to this list.

Well, how should I explain this? All the weirdest things in the weirdest box, what do you expect lol
Whether things are weird or not depends on each person's point of view, when you see too many weird things, your mind will consider those things as normal and not as weird as the first time...

The characters are hiding what they are, even it is whether consciously or not.
Others are just lost and don't know themselves

PS: not all characters who are hiding under masks are necessarily the protagonists, they can
have secondary or tertiary characters with weight in the story
