Irozuku Sekai no Ashita kara

I think this show dedicated mainly for the art, leaving other part weak.

Although the art is excellent, the story & character is meh, if you care about the story you will be disappointed, it's very mediocre. Oh yes, i must mention this show have so many still shot (looks great for background art drawing, but maybe not good for animated show). As i said earlier this show is about the art of drawing, the beauty of the world, and the joy of doing work for someone.

Personally i'm very enjoyed watching this, i love art, this is very beautiful. The OP & ED is very ... nice, also i love the character design.

This show not for everyone, if you looking for beautiful art, come watch. But if you care about story & character, you will bit disappointed. Because the story & character is following the art direction (usually the art that follow character & story).

This anime is too underrated.
Nothing fancy, nothing fighty, just a peaceful monogatari that how our heroine Hitomi grows up.
What make this anime perfect to me are the chromatic images and beautiful melodies which match the story so well.

Watched Episode 1 again if you have watched Episode 11. Kohaku (4:25) said Hitomi have to go to the past, and she may be reluctant to part with her friends and the one she loves. I now realize that Kohaku is talking about her friends and lover in the past, not in the future. You can see how Hitomi's attitude change after what she experienced in ... the past. PA Works please just don't send Hitomi back and leave her alone, she deserves a better ending.

This show is kind of like a cake that is decorated beautifully, but where the flavour doesn't live up to the appearance.

Story 7/10
The story is set in a world with magic and initially starts 60 years into the future, but immediately starts of by sending our protagonist to the past with time magic. The magic is often something that is just present, but not really the primary focus of the show. Besides the magic the setting is basically modern day Japan and the show doesn’t really do anything crazy with it.
The plot of the show is a sweet tale about an emotionless girl who ... lost the ability to see colours and learns how to open up to people. Right from the start the story shows some promise, but it never really lives up to its potential. However that doesn’t mean the story is bad. In fact the story is quite good, but it drags out a bit in the middle. The finale is the emotional highlight of the show and it definitely feels earned. The dialogue in the show is top notch and feels very natural.

Art 9/10
The show looks absolutely gorgeous, and makes great use of lighting. The backgrounds look awesome. The colour palette is very natural, but the show also likes to play with colours as the main character is colourblind. Character design is great as well, all the characters look very natural, the only exceptions being the hair colours of the magic characters. The animation is fairly fluid, but not all that special in comparison with the art.

Sound 7/10
The sound design is very solid, but not necessarily anything special. The magic sounds nice and the other effects sound fairly natural. The music enhances the scenes in which it is played. The voice acting is good and especially the main character does a great job conveying the growth of the character with voice acting.

Character 7/10
The characters in the show all have their own personalities and each and every one of them feels like a real person. Most of them also show some clear growth over the course of the show. The group of characters together also feel like I could go outside and meet people like them. There aren’t that many side characters, but the ones that do pop up aren’t anything special.

Enjoyment 7/10
The show is a great watch with satisfying progression from start to finish. Not only is the show satisfying to watch it is also amazing eye candy. There were a few parts where I got a bit annoyed at the series, but never enough to take away from my enjoyment.

An anime that would really touch hearts especially if you would give more attention to what is happening to the story. If you're someone who dwells with your problems I think you can relate yourself to the story. You might also enjoy it.

At some part, you might find it annoying because of the characteristics that the characters have but what I can say is maybe most of us would relate to the feelings and the decision-making of the characters.

Moreover,

It would be difficult to recommend this anime for people who are not into slice-of-life ... or romantic genre. Also, some people who have watched or read a lot of anime/manga that contains romance and slice of life may not enjoy this anime because they may have seen better.

What I can say is, subjectively speaking, this anime is good for starters. I can recommend this anime to people who love this type of anime. In terms of the genre, it's more of a slice-of-life anime that depicts a teenager's life.

If you're having a hard time deciding to watch it or not, this is a sign for you to watch it! GIVE IT A TRY! I hope you would enjoy it.

Nice one here. I love very much the story. Maybe this one will be my best anime ever. I will never forget this one. The graphics and characters are very good, have a good impression. Overall, this anime is the best for me. The opening and ending songs are pleasant to hear. At the time of the farewell between Hitomi and Yuito, the song playing in the background was really good. enhancing the quality of this anime. Thank you so much to all the staff and directors who worked for the success of this anime. Continue your P.A Works efforts for a good anime in ... the future. I am waiting for you for the beautiful anime with a good story, I can't wait :).

Let's be honest, the actual content of this anime isn't the greatest. But that isn't the point of the anime. Even though the story itself feels short-lived and not very developed, the art and animation remains beautiful without a doubt. In almost every aspect in terms of animation, it has went above and beyond. But for actual plot and story, it was very short and definitely would have done better if more episodes were added. Worth a watch for the art and animation, but not much else.

The characters were all laid out and had good story behind them all, but it felt as if not ... enough time were spent on each persons story to have the viewers (us) really care much about them. We will know their backstory, but not really "connect" with the character themselves.

This anime is basically an excuse to make amazing and awesome art and animation. The best I've seen in a long time. Focuses primarily and how you can view the world differently and how beautiful things come from everyday life and so on and so forth.

I hope for an anime I watch to come haunt me day and night, to make me tear up to the point where my snot comes out, to give me a sense of satisfaction which I cant describe even if I try, and from the bottom of my hearts I'm very sure that this anime gave me everything I hoped from an anime.

Even though the genre was fantasy, this anime felt even more realistic than the slice of life anime. The character build up was outstanding. I don't think i can stop if i start writing about the story. Even the intro song still ... stays in My mind.
Even if there is magic, there is no 'Action'. This makes it unique and provides a satisfaction one of those 'hero' anime would not give you...

Its definitely a roller coaster ride and i wont say that everyone would love this anime, but for me this is masterpiece which i would gladly place near 'Your lie in April'(Still its better tho..). If you guys have same preferences as me, YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT....

This anime has been around 2 years in my Plan to Watch list and finally this year I was able to finish it.

Story
- Time travelling stuff... hurts my head when trying to question the anime's logic about time travelling. I'm sensing some bits of steins;gate stuff here... I might be retard but I kinda don't quite understand this anime's time traveling logic stuff especially its ending.

Girl can't see colors. Damn. Her world be like 2078 but her damn eyes are back in 1950s... tough life man... But anyhow, her granny seems to know how to fix her by sending her back to 2018 and ... be like "go think yourself".

I was expecting some heavy ass romance but apparently this anime's romance is kinda gentle... Not bad actually especially for me who gets easily emotional. It helps at least to keep myself not to think too much about it.

Art
- Reminds me of Tsuki ga kirei's character drawings... As for the scenery and stuffs... not much to say and they are pretty good and fits enough for this anime....The difference between the world art for year 2078 and 2018 was pretty minimal and I like it actually... You'd be thinking like there will be flying cars or teleport stuff but in this anime, I didn't even knew in the first episode it was 2078 (lol).

Fanservice? nah man, I wasn't expecting it very much because...I was too focused on the story itself. Is there even a fanservice here? I don't think so....

Sound
-OP & ED fits well enough. Hitomi's voice is well... umm... I think its okay for the most part but personally for me I'd like to change it... (no its not annoying, idk how to describe it).

Character
-All of them are pretty well-going... I was expecting some more prolonged indecisive scenes, but damn these characters really speak their hearts out without some annoying long pauses. No enemy stuff here... just some subtle love triangle...

Enjoyment
-I tried finishing it after it has 3 episodes left because I knew, if I ever take a break from this anime, it'll end up in my currently watching graveyard list. Kinda forced myself, but I don't really feel bored until the end though. Tried to held my shit too after an episode has just few mins left before ED.

Overall
-Jesus christ, after finishing the anime, the ending was.... well personally I was expecting some more... I wouldn't call it as an incomplete ending though... As a fan of romance, I think you'll know what I mean once you watch it till the end. My dumbass brain thought this has a manga, thinking like " I'll just wait for the manga to finish and hopefully there will be something" until I see the source. And I was like.. "oh...ok" and no, I'm not crying or dying inside.

As most of the high ranking reviews made this series out to be either mediocre or just decent, I think I need to do it some justice, for anyone cares enough to go down the list. And so, there will be some minor spoiler, but as those are going to be key points for me, I think you need to be warned.

First thing first, for story line, Irozuku Sekai no Ashita Kara (I'll be calling it with just Irozuku, instead of any official abbreviation it might have) is not all that good. You basically have 5 threads that went down the series, that's pretty impressive ... for a series lasting only 13 episodes, I think. But, if you really look at it, it's not really anything new. First thread, time travel and the inevitable outcome of it. Second thread, magic and what comes with talent in magic (or anything for that matter). Third thread, character's disability (might sound overboard, but that's the best word came to my mind). Fourth, worries about what to do in future for young ones. Fifth, romance.

It's nothing new really, you might even compare them to many other series, such as Nagi no Asukara, as I saw someone people noted. But, the way those threads were woven into each other was actually great to me, at least.

Female lead/main character/protagonist is basically, disabled as in she's unable to see color, and you can see why right away, she's shutting herself out and always seems gloomy. One day, she just got sent off to the past for almost no reason but to satisfy another character's wish. Really, it was arbitrarily done. The reasons didn't get to be revealed until last episode too. But heck, there are other ways to perform therapies. Yes, the reasons has "recovery of ability to see color" for the protagonist included. But sending her back to the past using magic and force your past self to research the magic isn't quite the best way to do it, really. And it wasn't even revealed by words as protagonist realizes it too. That really kills off any adventure's purpose set for character development. But then, it springs several more threads into existence to keep the series going.

Romance, the one thing you can't seem to get away in works with a female lead. Protagonist being a time traveler, a magic user (or mage), a disabled, and a meek, beautiful girl is like a flag for romance from the get go. And of course, you see 2 guys in that kind of relationship with her, as in 2 guys have feelings for her and actually competed for it, kind of. A simple shoujo romance went down, with happy ending to the relationships. Yay, good thing, right? It's not explicitly shown, but you can really see how it plays out for the characters, which is nice. Just nice. But then, the dilemma is that the convergence of time flow will not allow alteration. Stein;Gates viewers might have seen enough of that, really. So, friendship, romance and all that junk will have to go to the dustbin for 60 years. Suck to be them. However, that's the beauty of it. Like in 5cm/s, it's beautiful, but unrequited. Yet, they still reach out to each others, still cure each others' illness/disabilities.

Yes, disabilities. I did say they have disabilities. Not all of them, but they do. Yamabuki Shou was a blockhead while being sensual and it hurts him, it's a minor disability and you can live with it. Kazano Asagi, she's meek and inactive. It hurts her too, in lots of way. Kawai Kurumi, she's nothing special while everyone else is. It doesn't hurt her, but it brings her down. Aoi Yuito, talented, but isn't motivated and actually feel repressive on his favorites. Tsukishiro Hitomi, talented but it leads to a trauma for her and directly caused her to become actually disabled. These are what happen to youngsters. Basically, this is where the messages are. And also, the basic solution is "to find the right person to help you". Nothing I didn't see before.

But, it's refreshing how the problems arise and resolve so naturally. 2 guys competing over 1 girl, 1 confesses and shot down, the other takes sometime to know he's winner and confess. Worries about future eased up by people who cares about you telling it's fine to take it easy to think. Friends who are rivals in love go back to good friends for knowing how it goes with each other. Love and encouragement last through time so the two can bring happiness to each other. How happiness is more than just happiness. It's actually very philosophical how problems are solved. I still don't sit well with how a mutual love became unrequited romance, but it's beautiful too so I guess it's fine.

Writing up to this point, I kind of lost track of what I wanted to say, but to sum it up, Irozuku was an enjoyable series to me with how well stuff are related, how it's not hard to see myself in there, how realistic its depiction of relationships is, how "beautiful" every emotion, feeling, piece of memories can be... It's not bad, it's not good either, but it's somehow strangely soothing once you went through it. Personally, I wouldn't really recommend Irozuku to any young viewers though. Because it's more of something older people can understand. But, it should be a good series to younger viewers (around highschool, college), though they might not like it the first time around unless they can relate themselves hard with it.

Irodoku is a very good show followed by possibly a beautiful, conclusive, thematic masterpiece of an ending
Storywise, a cool premise. Time travel never goes well but this show used it as a plot device very well. It made the bittersweet finale pack the punch it did seeing everyone (mostly) in the future
Its Pa works, I expect greatness. The color palletes in particular are just excellent. The fish scenes which I assume to be a staple of the studio carry a large ... emotional weight
The osts were alright, not too special. However, the ed and opening fit the tone very well. Im a massive sucker for when the show plays the second half of the opening in particular, so when that played;
A virbrant cast of characters; all recieving at least one episode to shine. The side characters are decent, Kohaku brought lots of energy to stagnant moments. The characters that shined the most were Hitomi and Yuito. The parralels drawn between them, compounding in a final confession where they finally resolved their feelings and "crossed"; truly a pa speciality
I enjoyed this alot, but the ending is what got me. Hitomi's return being met with a final collage detailing her journey while also answering many questions the show raised is so poetic I can't even explain it without context
Please watch this show, its criminally underrated, a fun, climatic, emotional ride this takes you. I would even say its colorful in all aspects

I have to say I started watching this anime worried about the possibility it would be only colors. But the story was really curious. Without going into spoilers, I want to say that the main character, Hitomi really evolves well from how she is at the beggining to how she changes her mind and how she is with her friends at the end.

How the anime play with the colors is also a noticeable thing. And of course, mention to the OST wich is really nice. I think, in some aspects, this anime can be similar to angel beats, just in my opinion.

Perhaps the ... only downside is that it could have been a bit longer to develop more the story and the arcs between characters.

This series is an extremely visually-intensive show that focuses itself primarily on the deep characters it uses to convey its plot. The plot itself is engaging right from the start, and in my case it pulled me from a sort of initial derision to instant engagement when they introduced time travel, which I usually find a difficult subject for anime writers. The feeling of full immersion never left me the entire time, and I adore the way they represented their magic in the everyday world. Honestly, lesser artwork would have outright killed this show, because the less sensical parts of the ... world seem less prominent when you're being bombarded by pretty colors.

That said I didn't give the show a 10, for the following reasons. The plotline has a solid baseline of awesomeness but doesn't do much to capitalize on that except display typical high school shenanigans. The author has a lot of room to work with within the constructed world they've made and really doesn't use it. Also, while the show rides on some pretty deep characters, some of the characters are lacking in depth by comparison, and a lot of the interaction seems very stiff. But all in all it's still above average in all qualities, with absolutely stunning art and sound.

I recommend this anime for anyone who likes really pretty stuff, or who likes Slice of Life anime with supernatural twists. It gave me a really similar feel to Violet Evergarden.

This anime is quite relaxing and inspiring. The story develops at its own pace, not rushing things and not making long pauses. You won't find here any evil plots or mind boggling time travel mechanics. Everything in the story is rather simple, and sometimes even reduced to quite basic elements. Like characters, for example.

Story-wise, everything is written in pastel tones with small areas of bright color to add accents. I think, it suits the mood of the anime well, and provides audience with a clear view at what is important in the anime.

The important things are in line with the genre: friendship and love, ... pursuit of the goals, growing up. But these important things are shown in somewhat unusual way, with some magic involved in everyday life (but not too much), so it makes all the world of difference.

The romance part of the anime will stir some feelings inside of you, but not in a way, that you feel like a wretch the whole day afterwards. I would say, that this part is quite gentle, like the anime itself. More like something to think about, but not to dwell too much.

If you would like a monochrome slice of life with a bit of magic in it, don't look any further, it gently landed in your hands like a feather, and will probably be swept away from your mind like a feather too.

Irozuku Sekai no Ashita kara is a pretty straight forward show, even if it doesn't looks like that at first impresion as it tells us the story of Hitomi Tsukishiro, a young wizard aprendice that has lost the ability to see the colors of the world due a traumatic event in his life, and therefore she's been in a depresive state for ages. That's what this show is about: how we can heal our hearts and mind and keep going, this shows is about Hitomi beating his depresion both on his own and thanks to the help of others.

Although this review is thought mostly as ... a brief analisis of Hitomi's character development, from this point onwards this review can contain some minor spoilers to the argument, so if you haven't seen the show and wants to do it I reccommend to stop reading here.

Getting back to it, as I said before, this show is a really direct metaphore about a person, in this case Hitomi, suffering from depresion and as that, it is a really good aproach to this mental health illnes as it doesn't depicts it as that caricature of said illness we're somewhat used to get when an anime treats this subject: Hitomi is a functional girl, she carries on with his regular activities and ordinary high school student life, that being said, our focal point to read his depresion is not her being unable to do things, instead, it will be how she still lives even when she thinks she doesn't have a reason to.

She's completely lost her will, she thinks she's the sole culprit of her current state, she can't see any good in herself and therefore, she things she doesn't have any colors in his life. The colors have gone because she can't see them in herself, if you can't love yourself, you can't see the good things in your environment. And that's a really good description of how a person going through a depresive state does feel. Not all people in that situation wants to die, someones just doesn't have the will to live neither to die, and that's where Hitomi's at the start of the show.

From this point, Irozuku Sekai no Ashita kara teachs us how important can be to have peopla that genuinely cares about us and how their help can't cure us at all, but can be the starting point to heal we can't find for ourselves. That's where Kohaku, Hitomi's grandmother comes into action, she'll be the one to ignite Hitomi's spark and help her take that first step to recover the colors of the world, to be again able to see the bright side of things and the bright side of herself, to forgive herself and finally understand she's been unfairly chargin herself with the wrong guilt of being born a magician, something she simply mustn't feel guilty about at all. Thanks to the present and past Kohaku and the whole cast, she'll recover the set of emotions she's lost, she'll get rid of the rigid herself she's forged through years of suffering and will learn, through loving others, to love herself.

Irozuku Sekai no Ashira kara is a beautiful journey to know yourself better and get through hard times. Sometimes you won't be able to do it by yourself, but there's always someone, even if we can't see them, that worries about us and would do anything to help us heal. You've lost your colors? Not forever. You can't get to see the good things in yourself? There's always people that can see them and tell you how they look, eventually, you'll be able to see them by yourself.

I don't understand why some people say there's no plot. The plot is simple: Hitomi was sent to the past. With an emphasis on " was sent". The anime revolves around why Hitomi was sent to the past and what was in the past at all. It's simple, yet beautifully executed through vibrant imagery, colorful slice of life scenes, emotional moments, bits of lore, and lukewarm romance.

I'd say Episode 10 starts off as epic and really gave that strong goosebump. Episode 11 started with scenes that left me on the edge of my seat and ended in the most romantic way possible for the anime's ... theme and premise. The finale is definitely fantastic and emotionally powerful. It's also nice that the end isn't vague, giving you a sense of closure and satisfaction. I really hate it when an anime tries to give that huge plot twist, cliffhanger, or mindfuck ending that leaves that feeling of dissatisfaction and nonsense.

Overall, I'd say this is a hidden gem for anime enthusiasts that are fond of romance and drama with a little bit of fantasy, especially since it has a really unique and heartwarming art style, well-executed characters, and powerful story.

I really liked this one. For my tastes it is a solid 9, but i guess overall it is 7~8.

Although it doesn't have anything that makes it a masterpiece, it is still a really solid story. I like how original it is, because of all "timetravel to the past" shows, this one isn't like " re-do your life". The story is really well paced, and even though it is a little previsible, it is still enjoyable. The main concepts are also really interesting, as i've never seen a character that deals with a problem like not seeing colors in an anime before.

Character wise, it is ... good. Unfortunately, some characters stand out, and others are never developed. Hitomi and Yuito are boring in the beginning, but they grow a lot through the episodes. Overall there isn't anyone that is annoying, and every action from the characters felt coherent with their personality.

Art disappointed me a little. I'd expect a little better in this field, being an "art and photography" show. I also think a smarter use of monochrome scenes, to give Hitomi's perspective, would make the show shine even more, but they didn't explore this much.

Sound tho, perfect. I have nothing to complain about, and want to commend the opening specially, it is beautiful.

Overall, i think any romance fans will like this one. There are some drama bits, but they don't hinder the show in any way, like some other romantic shows. I also think it deals with insecurity and trauma in a very gentle and responsible way, which made me like it even more. I'd say give it a try, if you found the description interesting.

What can I say? I loved this series. Highly recommended! The story is so beautiful, the characters, the plot, full of sincere feelings. I honestly felt really comfortable throughout the series. I got as attached as if I were the main character, not many series achieve that. It makes you reflect on aspects of your own life that one neglects oneself. I always value the story, its outcome, the message it wants to convey… And this series met all my expectations. It's been so long since I haven't found a gem like this one. It touched my heart. It made me so happy. Thank you ... very much to all those who made this series possible. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
