Synopsis

These are six loosely-related anime/live-action music videos from the band Hi-Fi Set. For the most part, they form a story about the love life of two cute dragons who live in a high-tech future city. This disc was released in 1985, right in the middle of Hi-Fi Set's career (1974-1994), and features songs from that era (from their 1984 and 1985 albums Pasadena Park and Indigo).

Mixed Feelings

I'd never heard of Hi-Fi Set, but I liked this sampler of their songs. There is a loose story about two dragons who are in love but can't quite make it work between them that is as sweet as their designs. And a few scenes where the animators flexed a bit, but the main draw for this is definitely supposed to be the band. I liked it. The songs "Rainbow Signal", "I Want to be Frank", and "Magic Mountain" were my favorites, and they were all strong songs. If I had a quick way to dive into their discography, I would give them more of ...
