acclaimed for being an anime with plot twist, well characterized characters with one of the best wife for her backstory and story that follows (apparently) a plot and what I'm talking about is the rising of the shield hero. The beginning is the same for every other isekai and only this time he is not hit by truck-kun but by reading a book he is teleported into the usual fantasy with swords and magic. ... And we already find an inconsistency, when he starts reading the book you start to see what happens to the MC (when he meets Melromarc, a name that is impossible to write or say) and since he is immediately teleported to the isekai for what reason in the book he is already spoiled some characters? and then you really want me to believe that the MC is the first Christian in the world to open that book? Then the bookshop shouldn't have noticed that a book has like 200 pages but there are only about 10 written? The characters are well designed and the work is well animated but the MC is shit, each episode repeats that it does not trust anyone and behaves as if only he was right and whoever is next to him continues to follow the advice or orders of this overgrown child who according to MAL is 19 years old even if I would have given him not even 5 or 4 but even 3 given the behavior and mentality that has. Like any self-respecting isekai the MC must have 3 or 4 girls who love him and in this case naofumi (first and last time I repeat his name) made two little girls fall in love as if it were nothing, which proves that the isekai even if drawn well fantasy setting which however does not bother you too much, the quality is scarce and the manga author has watched that minute of harem and character who had to be serious becomes a ball and chain the manga becomes famous and even gets an adaptation , I'm insulting him because works that I like, done well and with a story that is not always original over time evolves consistently are underestimated because every person who is a fan of anime prefers these anime. I followed this series back when it was a webnove, and after reading it I knew it would be made in to an anime one day. this was LONG before SAO was anime or isekai was the norm.

When it finally was announced I was excited "finally it's getting what it deserves." and then I watched it and hated almost every other episode. Anytime the anime was a 1 to 1 it was good any time it wasn't it was padding and was a dumpster fire. Episode 4, 18, 19, 20 and 21 are great examples of this.

Episode 4 is based off of one ... page of a manga and 2 paragraphs of the web novel. 18 - 21 are based off of 4 action chapters aka nothing happens for 4 chapters and skimming gives the same results.

I don't understand why they did 25 episodes when the first arc which ends in the return of the queen would have fit nicely into a 16 episode season. As you can tell from them doing this the original writing gets drag.

Then there is the main character in the original writing after false accusation against him his personality does a massive shift. He cares little of people, their options, their wants, or their needs. in essence he looses all empathy becoming a more by the numbers or book personality. Everything has positives and negatives, and the actions he takes are for them to be in his favor. It just so happens that those actions are viewed as benevolent while he only views them as transactional. This creates a character that is brooding, dark humor, thick headed, but calculated and able to apply his knowledge well.

The lack of empathy is completely removed from the main protagonist after episode 4. As a result he just becomes a thick headed standard anime protagonist that happens to be perfect in every way. There is part that comes up later in the original writing where he regains his former personality at the beginning of the story. happy go lucky and naive. it's going to be amazing to watch and see nothing change in his personality.

The art is bland and it's obvious that there was no budget for it and the CG while interesting in some scenes was more jarring as the show went on ether do a lack of time or budget.

While the Japanses dub is okay, the English was terrible. Besides Jamieson Price, and Erica Mendez everyone else has done nothing in this industry, and it shows in the voice work. Erhard voice being the most Egregious, I was expecting them to ripe off Patrick Seitz's voice style as Andrew Mills in SAO what we got instead is so bad I can't describe it.

I can't recommend this anime as it is I hope it gets better treatment in the second season but I wouldn't expect it to. This anime got the Mc Donald's treatment and since it did well there is no reason for them to try harder next time.

I never heard of this anime and was looking for something to casually watch when I stumbled on this anime. To be honest, I really liked the first few episodes. Especially, because I didn’t know what kind of anime this would be. Four heroes are spawned in a different world where they have to defend that world from waves.

Naofumi the protagonist and the Shield hero however, gets backstabbed and loses all his trust in society. For this kind of anime there are some ‘darker’ things than you’d usually see and I really liked it. His hatred towards society, people not believing him and ... him training all by himself to buying a slave for himself could turn into a great anime with a dark plot, sadly as the episode progressed it just kept going downhill. I’m not going to say it was bad, because I enjoyed watching it. But that is purely because of the entertaining beginning episodes. He didn’t get revenge on a girl who falsely accused him of groping her, stole all his money and gear, and then also turned the whole country against him. I mean, it’s only reasonable to want revenge on someone like that. And then there is the shitty king who for (a very small reason) has a grudge against the one person who has to defend his country and tries to ruin his life. It just all doesn’t make sense. There is no character development at all. It's not explained WHY Myne and the second princess have such grudge against Naofumi. It just all doesn't make sense. This anime had such great potential but in the end it just didn't deliver. I saw that there will be two more seasons coming. Please let the writers make it dark again and follow the path of the first few episodes and it could turn out to be a great anime and not just some kind of fan service anime. If, however, the line of the last 15-20 episodes will be followed, we can only expect the worst.

This 17 episodes animated ad for the light novels has no redeeming quality.

Characters are unidimensional walking clichés devoid of any personality or appeal and story makes no sense at all; everybody is trying to ruin our main's character life cause "shields suck, dude l0l" despite him being kidnapped from his original dimension as the "only hope" (1/4) to altruistically fight a war in a hellscape isekai world he should give a damn about. This hatred for the main guy is so excesive and generalized that the entire show feels like an arthouse antibullying ad.

Surprisingly to none, the MC is one of those dudes whose only ... character trait is "doing the right thing, sometimes fueled by autistic rage", even when he's at the meat market buying some ol' trusty slaves. Then you have an underdeveloped lazy version of the girl from Spice and Wolf who exists only as the main romantic interest for the hero.

Art is plain and uninteresting while japanese dub is ok and overall this is another prescindible isekai we'll all forget about in two weeks. Why am I even wasting my time writing this shit.

This is the first anime I have ever truly dropped and I feel like a review is worth writing.

Shield Hero has the most outstanding and gripping opening to any isekai. Naofumi is put in a truly unfair situation and forced to clear his name to the kingdom he's dropped into. There was a lot of controversy and downvoting when the show first came out, and just as much positive sentiment and counteracting 10s to cancel those out.

Unfortunately, Shield Hero would not end up being worth all the positivity it garnered from so many fans. Naofumi and Raphtalia having their moment in the courtyard would prove ... to be the peak of the show. From that point forward the story completely loses its way, and the summation of the core conflict is so dissatisfying I was actually disgusted. I couldn't make it any further.

I may come back around to finish the last few episodes and hope that season 2 tries to correct the ship, but season 1 so extravagantly dropped the ball on what could have been an extremely engaging narrative that I don't know what there could possibly be worth coming back for. The "shield hero against the world" narrative isn't there anymore. That ended up being the only thing the show had going for it, in the end.

I enjoyed this anime at first because it took a different approach to other isekai and didn't make the protaganist overpower right away. In addition the art was above average and there were several musical pieces that were simply beautiful.

But the longer I watched the more disillusioned I got, everyone apart from Naofumi (and to a lesser extent Raphtalia) have such basic and one note characters that by around episode 11 it becomes very dull. Every situation simplifies to Naofumi was right (if a bit spiteful) and the others were either boneheaded or out to get him, with villagers growing to love him, the ... others heroes realizing they were wrong and some nobles getting angry. It feels very much as though entire world revolves around Naofumi alone and that's just...disappointing. Having read the WN before this several years back this was not a huge surprise to me but nonetheless watching it animated this series lacked depth much like other isekai I have seen (although it definitely does better than 90% of isekai out there.)

As a short aside, seeing the character of Raphtalia again I can't help be disappointed in her. Her instistence to be treated as an adult by Naofumi when she acts like a child whenever anything approaching a conversation or an interaction about their relationship(e.g. pouting when Filo hugs Naofumi, or when Melty calls him by his first name) comes up, and her wanting of a relationship (I assume as equals) when she constantly makes herself subservient to him is jarring to me in a way that wasn't to me when I first read the Web Novel.

Is there anything wrong with indulging in simplicity?

One of the many questions I found myself asking, during each week of "overpowered-yet-screwed-over shield man", was that is this series going to do something to stand out from any of the other isekai anime that we have been flooded with in the past few years. As it stands having watched the full series, this doesn't seem to be the case, but that doesn't mean that The Rising of the Shield Hero (Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari) deserves the same hate or distasteful comments that other "Isekai-trash" such as In another world with my smartphone receives.

Without wasting too ... much of your valuable weeaboo time there is a mindset that you should enter Shield Hero with when choosing to watch or judge it...

It never promised anything that we haven't seen before.

1) Man transported to another world
2) Instantly gains an overpowered item/ability that puts him above the rest in said another world
3) Something major happens that forces a long training montage blah blah blah

You get the point.

However, going back to my original point of enjoying simplicity, The Rising of The Shield Hero ever since the first episode has promised to give us a heavily character focused story that does exactly as it says on the box. This isn't the case of most other anime that throw fanservice or flashy animations to distract you from a lack of plot progression or worth but it is rather an anime that shows you the struggles and growth of Naofumi (The Shield Hero) as well as his adorable cast of sidekicks who only compliment this story. This anime was definitely not a waste of my time and filled my Wednesday's with some sense of laid-back enjoyment.

So I'm looking forward to a potential selection of OVA's or even a second season but as it stands i feel like making a second season probably wouldn't be a great idea because it would lose the appeal that it had in the introductory season- being that Naofumi is a hated/misunderstood MC who has to go from the bottom to the top

(Don't forget that this anime gave us as the anime community another girl to hate on that that wasn't Emilia, Ichigo, Saionji or Sakura to name a few- if you haven't seen this series then at least watch the first few episodes to understand the pain)

I don't usually write reviews for anime, as there is usually no point in over-saturating the stellar reviews already present for it. However, I found that paired with both the time and inclination to finally write one, I was going to have a go at it for this anime.

On an overall scale, in terms of especially plot and characters, this anime was awful.
Being not only very annoying (and generic at best) every character EXCEPT for the main character and his posse were given the minimum amount of character development required to create a functional group of distinguishable human beings.
Even Raphtalia, the main female love interest, ... eventually began pissing me off by the end of the series with her reoccurring strange romantic attachment to Naofumi, our main characters, even though he raised her from childhood like an, albeit completely incompetent, father.

Nevertheless, I am completely aware of why I sat down and watched this every week.

Frankly, it was entertaining.

In fact, I think I only enjoyed it because- much like That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime- I got to see a main character with a decently realistic personality level up and beat the shit out of people.

Would I recommend this anime? Absolutely not- unless you want a mindless generic binge to take the edge off the way alcohol can't.
I specify 'binge' because watching an episode every week, letting the hype die, and then trying to get back into it likely ruined the true potential of how much I could have been entertained.

The character and plot is shit regardless, but the fighting, which is the only thing this anime has going for it, is best consumed quickly to maintain the adrenaline.

Light novel has always been a form of media that panders to the youth. Their stories are weirdly fun and full of imaginative creativity. No wonder, Isekai became such a big hit and got exploited to the very last drop. As a result, tons of them got adapted and hype into the moon every seasons. Sadly to a point that the anime community considers such mediocrity like "The Rising of Shield Hero", a Winter 2019 anime of studio Kinema Citrus as something excellent.

What annoys me the most about Isekai nowadays is that they don't even try. Their premiere's writing is extremely lazy. Specifically Shield ... Hero, he doesn't even know why he got transfer to the new world, how do the viewer get a clue? And while the idea of a shield used as a weapon is indeed creative and raises curiosity, it never reaches its full potential because it was bound by the gaming fighting system in the anime which allows only powers not creativity.

How about the story progression, you might ask? You actually don't need to, you probably have seen it a dozen times, nothing original here. Plus with the one-dimensional and unchanging characters, not even smart, most of the time, they are dumb fucker and absolutely believe things coming from everyone's mouth. That's the combo that destroyed Shield Hero, make it bland and boring to watch.

Everything about this show screams out average. Save your time by not watching it or you wanna waste a day watching 3 seasons of it coming out in 2020

This show is enjoyable if you can ignore how much everybody constantly jacks off the the main character. Like seriously, every episode, someone has to praises the mc and whenever this happen, in my mind I can't help but imagine the author jacking the mc off. It's like the only reason they brought the hero down so much in the beginning is so theres a bigger contrast when everbodys showering the mc in praise, like thats better or something. It's really not, its just gratuitous. But if you keep that in mind going in, it can have decent fun moments. Animation wise, its alright. Some ... of the fight animations feel like they're replaced with scenes where somebody pulls out a sword in one sceen, then the next sceen, that person has the sword out and everybodys haning in mid air. Soundwise you hear alot of generic fantasy town sounds. Overall, it's an alright show. It's just that the parts that aren't alright, are reallly jacky offy.

When I first started watching this series, I really enjoyed it... so much so that I couldn't wait a week for the next episode and binged the light novels. And the light novels are pretty good... they'd easily make my list of the top 20 light novel series I'm waiting to continue.

Now, it's very rare for an anime to fully express the greatness of a light novel series it's based on, and legitimately so, as the production process is much more expensive for anime... but some of the creative licenses taken with this story, and especially some of the characters' decisions, are just face-palm ... levels of frustrating... to the point where eventually I just couldn't stand to keep watching anymore. The character animation is spot-on, though, and the opening theme is catchy.

What had a promising start ended with a whimper.

Shield Hero's pacing by the middle and end of the show was atrocious and painfully slow. Characters would literally have full-blown monologues and conversations in between moves (both big and small), and instead of feeling like I was watching an /animation/I felt like I was watching a game with turn-based combat. I swear one of the major fights in the show had the antagonist repeat the same line of dialogue 6+ times across two episodes and the show only killed him off when it realized the episode's runtime was coming to an end.

The plot just progresses ... without any meaningful worldbuilding or character arcs despite it trying to go for a grounded approach to its storytelling. Which is all made worse with slow, cringey "generic anime style" dialogue that doesn't respect the watcher's time or intelligence.


On the technical side of things: the animation is serviceable even with the corner-cutting tricks they do like generally having narrow framing or simple back-and-forth with talking heads, or some nitpicks I have with some scenes like the weird post-processing dimming they do for certain "flashy"/bright fight moves. It doesn't excel in this department and it doesn't fail it either, but the poor parts stick out like a sore thumb. Same goes for the audio.

Shield Hero had its moments with all of the above but they come too few and far between. This show isn't even worth finishing. Watch Mushoku Tensei instead

About tate no yuusha... It started super good, was flesh air for the isekai genre, the MC is not the best and everyone loves him, as fact he's considered the worst hero and hated by everyone. Then if it's original and interesting, why did I rate it as a 5 out of 10? Because after 3 or 4 episodes where he gets the chocobo, there are only fucking side quests. Is like you're playing a game and instead of doing the main quest ... you start doing random things. And we have around 10 episodes of that. Half the season is useless basically. All the side characters are as dumb as Nobita. Myne is a character we have to hate but... She's not that bad. Like you can see at characters like Griffith and then she's a good person. I don't like to make comparisons but is to have and idea of how a character you should hate looks like.
And the worst part about it, it's a cliche isekai, Naofumi has his harem, he has op powers because yes, because he's the MC. They lied to us, they showed it as a original anime series that doesn't follow the same formula as the isekais, but it became one of the most boring isekais ever. And I hate it.
In short, there are 3 good episodes, a lot of filler in the middle and an epic final fight filled with asspulls and generic as hell

Slowly manages to move past it, but still continues to preach nice guyesnness and vanilla (stepping on same rake twice, much) As story progresses, I think author didn't expect to be writing it for so long and all kinds of wild, plot armor clad stuff happens.

A lot of fan service for all tastes - young: Melty, furry: Filo, Raphtalia, simple minded: Malty etc. Of course, there's the elephant in the room: Raphtalia's age. While it is explained that demi-humans age differently, through levels instead of time. The facts remain that Noafumi kissed underaged and sexualized Raphtalia on screen.

Recommendations of similar anime:
Aldnoah.Zero - can't recommend this anime enough. Epic battles, planetary politics, little to no romance taking away time from the pure eye orgasmic animation. The actually well structured and rational 'gray' ethical questions discussed.
The Devil is a part-timer! - much more easy going and light hearted than A.Z, with better story and more sophisticated characters than shield hero. (How Not to Summon a Demon Lord - might be similar, but it's still on my 'Plan to watch' list)

Spanning drama genres up to the famous Isekai, the big reason why the anime repentance fame was attributed to a political issue in relation to a rape charge against Naofumi regarding the anime's “heavy and dark” themed display. However, as the plot unfolds, everything will take on a much lighter tone and without a gender pattern, developing mainly the emotional and the trust complex of the protagonist.


The main hero is not treated as a savior, but as the enemy and I liked that! That whole scene where Naofumi is falsely accused of liking our main protagonist. A switch is activated inside it and it enters ... the duration mode. This is certainly one of the strengths of the anime.


'The Rising of the Shield Hero' is very lively, with an excellent character design. The anime has great action scenes, but there is a lot of talk during those scenes. The construction of the world retains a lot of information for a long time and many of the secondary characters are underdeveloped.

It is clear that the greatest strength and emotional core of the program is the relationship between Naofumi and Raphtalia. It is well developed and the main reason for concern about what happens, Naofumi and Raphtalia saving each other is something stronger than anime. 'The Rising of the Shield Hero' contains a story about how to find the meaning of connections with other people.

So shield hero ended toady and it has become one of the most disappointing anime I have seen so far in 2019. Shield hero had an amazing start, the 1 hour long episode which started up the story got me so hyped up at the start of the year. I thought it was going to end up as of my favorites animes from this year since it had such a strong and interesting start. That strong start would only continue on for me until episode 4, where this anime peaked in my option. It all goes to hell after when the writing became inconsistent and ... so much bs being caused by bitch. It became annoying to watch a times and it felt like the goal Naofumi sat out at the start will never get accomplished. There were some good episodes like the Ralphtalia flashback and the bitch episode but everything else felt like a mess.
I still enjoyed watching shield hero every week but I always felt like it had so much potential that it never tapped into. This is why I'm leaving this anime felling so disappointing

The best way to describe this anime's writing is to compare it to someone very afraid of leaving their small hometown and explore the world with confidence. Ironic, because this is an Isekai anime, where the protagonist from the real world gets transported into a fantasy realm. 

It was a fresh take on the Isekai genre, with a controversial concept of slavery, but also the fact that the Hero had a pretty good life in the real world and got transferred into a nightmare. I had hopes that this anime was going to continue to be unconventional, but the plot never ceased reverberating back to its ... originating point of drama; the false accusation and conspiracy plot against him. 

For instance, The MC flirted with evil, but it was never strong enough for him to change course. I totally thought this was going to be used, since his allies being slaves could have been exploited here (they feel pain when they disobey his commands). Secondly, the MC also becomes a merchant, and his talent for securing business opportunities almost leans on the side of greed, but we never truly know why he is so eager to earn so much money. It's an RPG, we all know that feel of grinding to buy a new item, but this appeal was never used. Lastly, the MC also dances with the idea of leaving the country, but we just circle the wagons for over 20 episodes. 

Essentially, like a shield, the very interesting parts of this anime just get blocked, over and over again. It truly lacks any offensive story telling. If I'm being completely honest, the only thing keeping me going was the potential romance with Raphtalia, but by episode 15 I realized I had been teased long enough since nothing else about the adventure interested me. 

Romance was also the one thing Naofumi felt like he was lacking in the real world, so I have to question why it was taking so long from his end to reciprocate feelings. I understand that he took her in as a child so he views her as a daughter, but she developed into a woman quite quickly due to gaining XP and leveling up, and not only that, but Naofumi doesn't seem to love anything else, like revenge, money, or freedom, to convince me that he was truly too distracted from something else to potentially have these desires. 

Also, the art isn't very good either. Although I enjoyed the HUD view and "in-game" details that were featured through out the show, there were a lot of awkward CG monsters, and Raphtalia's model can sometimes be inconsistent (she'll randomly sport a bigger chest). It really brought down the quality from average to mediocre. It truly had so much potential, but in the end The Rising of the Shield Hero is nothing more than going on a trip with a bunch of luggage and spending most of it in the hotel, never truly seeing the sights. 

The better SAO and I can even say that with SAO being the first anime I've watched. With that said even comparing this to SAO means its not very good in my eyes. Before getting the the negatives Ill talk about what I liked first.

The animation was generally pretty well done, nothing outstandingly good nor does it have a unique style. But the incorporation of CGI that at times is wonky but mostly good with 2D is always a welcomed mix in my mind. The music is pretty immersive and makes you feel like you are in the environments the characters are in, once again ... nothing that stands out or is a banger but its a positive. World building is definitely a plus to these MMO animes as its easily presented throughout the show. And there are pretty decent themes and messages sprinkled in the show that I haven't entirely seen anywhere else yet (i've only watched very few animes so). The one scene that specifically did surprisingly hit me hard was the jail cell scene.

That's all I had to say that was positive so now onto the negatives, wtf is up with this harem bs? I'm not saying you cant have girls in your story but what are the fucking odds that all members of your party are girls??? Here let me do the math, 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2 = 1/16 = 6.25% FUCKING CHANCE. Granted I would be 100% fine with this but of course they gotta add some SUS SHIT. SLAVE PACTS??? Then the (of course) loli and (nekko?) girl fighting over "Masters" love??? Such a generic overdone character dynamic that doesn't evolve into anything different than what's been beaten to DEATH. And I mentioned themes earlier being present here. Well one of the themes is "Justice can often make one blind to their consequence" which is absolutely uncommonly applicable in real life. 90% of things heroic people do in order to help or for justice don't cause harm. The main character naofumideeznuts doesn't even build up satisfyingly in season 1 he goes from being hated to being hated/respected? i would've like it better if it took longer for the redemption of character but I will say the moment he got redemption felt good but felt flat and unimpactful in the rest of the show, just that one episode. Most people don't like training arcs, but in my opinion its a greater opportunity to build character and establishment. In this show they went "XP BONUS EVENT LOOOL" and THIS FUCKER ROSE 30 LEVELS in 1 EPISODE. IT TOOK HIM 20 to GET 40!! on that same topic this show had soooo many convenient points to it just to drive it forward, out of money? heres money! need to level up quick? XP EVENT!!!! it would've been so interesting to see how the characters would've portrayed the possible harsh reality of that game world struggling through and prospering past it but no we just zip through that shit EASY. Next topic exposition drops EVERY OTHER EPISODE, it rips my immersion of the world or should I say drives me deeper into it as it really makes me feel like i'm playing a FUCKING VIDEO GAME. And are the constant annoying flashbacks and callbacks to thing that happened literally last episode or 5 minutes ago needed? Half the shit I came to my own conclusion already but the show had to explain in for several seconds of which COULD'VE BEEN USED TO DRIVE CHARACTER CONNECTIONS FURTHER. Overall this show is everything I am biased against in anime with some exceptions and good highlights, which is a shame as nearly every anime ive watched through was very enjoyable and nice so far. Makes sense though as I only watched this because I lost a bet. L

Rising of shield hero is a very conflicting series to rate.
My brain says it's an absolute waste of time and I should rate this below 5- but on the other hand it feels dishonest cause I did have some fun with this.
Now, to explain more clearly-
In every anime that I have ever watched nomatter how good or bad, there was atleast some novelty to it- some originality no matter how small scale- be it the overused zombie apocalypse themed anime, or high school rom com ... or whatever. They had atleast something I could say that ok so this was something interesting or special in the this anime.
But the absolute mad lad that Shield hero is- there's absolutely no novelty, uniqueness or speciality whatsoever.
It is not objectively a bad show, it just adds absolutely nothing to your life in anyway. But it doesn take away some of your precious time that in all honestly could be spent more effectively by doing literally anything else. I might sound too harsh but you get the point. Rising of shield hero is so brain dead that watching the series is exactly the same as not watching the series.
The story is so uninspired I'd say even a 10yo could probably write a more interesting story. The characters are also so uninspired- it's again just like the default characters of a RPGMaker game. The main protagonist is the only charcter I somewhat liked cause he's the only person that felt more or less relatable and had atleast some kind of unique personality. Other than him, you have your typical setting where hero is unjustly framed by the 'evil royalty' while it's brain dead citizens are constantly thrashing you. Even though it doesn't matter, still saying anything else might spoil the story.
Now all that said, I still had fun with the series! Maybe it's the absolute childish premise of the 1st episode that hooked me which I thought was the most interesting and the most blatant unoriginal event at the same time.
And good thing is there is actually a payoff at the end- a very similarly childish payoff but I still absolutely loved it!
Except these 2 events which in my opinion are basically the beginning and the end of the story, nothing interesting goes on.
Oh and btw loli lovers will be rejoiced to know this series is quite packed with that stuff. Personally I'm not at all a fan of Lolis but there you go- another reason to either watch or completely avoid this show.

So you see my dilemma? I had fun watching this but I also realise it was a complete waste of time. And it's not one of those- 'in the end you had fun and that's what matters' kinda series, it's the kinda fun that I completely forget within 30 min of watching the series. Shield hero might as well as be the most forgetable anime I've ever seen. I feel bad to give this a bad score cause then it'll feel like this is an objectively bad series which it is clearly not.
But also I absolutely do not recommend this series to anyone as I still feel this is an absolute waste of time. Therefore, my final score is an absolute average 6/10

I just felt the need to write it this time cause I honestly feel I was tricked by the MAL's rating in this case. If it were lower I'd probably never have watched this series. I feel writing about this anime is the right thing to do, if I can aware even a single person then it'll be worth it
