Ani ni Tsukeru Kusuri wa Nai!

This is one of my favorite short episode comedy series and that mainly comes down to the easygoing, slice of life vibes and the likable core cast. The humorously violent dynamic between dumbass Shi Fen and his violent younger sister Shi Miao is fun from the start but gains additional layers when a love triangle evolves between her, Shi Fen's even dumber (and oblivious) best friend Kai Xin, and the also dumb rich transfer student masquerading as a "poor" person, Wan Sui. Expect a lot of comedic misunderstandings, general foolishness, sister-on-brother beatdowns, sweaty attempts at hiding one's wealth, and some occasional earnest displays of heart.

Across ... all seasons of this web manhua adaptation (which I believe is still ongoing as of the writing of this review, though mostly un-translated into English), the episodes are mostly self-contained with very few plotlines spanning more than a couple episodes in succession. The animation itself isn't anything to write home about but it works in the context of what is essentially a low-key gag series. A great binge or something to watch if you have only a little time in your day for some laughs.

It's a very simple anime. Since each episode has 3 minutes, it's quick to watch and even better to pass time, it has lots of funny parts so there's no reason to not enjoy a show like this.
The characters are unique and they are written quite well, especially since it's a comedy. Every interaction is funny and the development over the episodes only adds to it.
The art style it's cute and has exaggerated reactions, which also helps with the funny parts.
Overall, it's not the most amazing comedy anime ever, but it's also not the worst. It doesn't have much to it, but everything ... that proposes it's done nicely and it's a good show if you just want to watch anything funny.

I watched this some time ago but never wrote anything for it at the time due to planning to release reviews for all 4 seasons that currently exist all at once, but that might be very troublesome knowing how fast I get with anime. Oh well, here's a short review.

It's an episodic SoL that features siblings behaving in the way siblings would usually behave. Being annoying, terrible communication, getting at each other and all the rest of it. It's something that anime is seemingly incapable of doing from time to time, so I guess we just leave that to donghua.

Everything here ... makes sense. From the time at school to time at home to just about anything really, the two come across as real people all in all. I suppose it is a little more exaggerated with Shi Miao being the stronger of the two, but hey, comedy is needed somewhere. It all works out to create this—albeit not unprecedented—comedic and wholesome love-hate relationship (it's more love than hate by the way). Individually, Shi Miao behaves as a typical high school girl would: she has crushes, she gets annoyed at her brother, she has friends to talk about things like crushes too, I'm sure you know the whole book of high school girls' law if you've ever interacted with one; be assured, it checks out here. The same is true for Shi Fen, hanging out with his bro, doing dumb nonsense, you know how this goes, and yes, it all checks out with him too. Could say the same for the side characters but they are more there to keep up with the main guys, as they don't have the most personality to them other than being a slightly eccentric friend. It's whatever though.

The production here is kinda lame. It's like, partly animated. You have the model and you just move it a bit to make it seem animated. This is not always the case, but there was something about watching this that made me feel the production to it was very lazy. What I have described is just it. Sometimes it would kill a funny moment but for the most part, this was all pretty liveable. It's just a shame coming from a good-looking manga into something more low-quality, but it happens. Just not to a greatly noticeable extent like this.

That's pretty much all I have to say about this. Anyone could enjoy it if they don't have the highest standards in the world, but I'd personally recommend reading the original thing since it is organic over there compared to this adaptation, but people don't really like reading it seems. This is very time-efficient however, with 3-min episodes; whatever floats your boat.
