There is probably no point in reviewing advertisements and such this late, but I feel I should to do it anyway.
So this ad is 15 seconds of our Scarlet Princess Maki Nishikino enjoying Watering KissMints. I had absolutely no idea what that was prior to watching this, but now I'm sure to remember it from now on.
Maki appears to be the happiest of any other time I can recall seeing her. I mean her face is just glowing with happiness the whole time so you know those must be some damn good mints if they made Maki THAT happy.
Accompanying this is 15 seconds of
...
one of my favorite Muse songs: Angelic Angel. splendid choice for this ad by the way, I JUST LOVE THAT SONG.
Our protagonist Maki starts off by giving us a peppy twirl as she walks down a path dawning a trenchcoat and a sunhat. About four seconds in she tosses her sunhat off and raises a pack of Watering KissMints, letting you know what the story of this 15 second anime will be all about. It's during the 6 second mark where my favorite scene occurs: Maki, now standing near a body of water, has a pack opened up and she quickly places a KissMint in her mouth in such delicate fashion that one cannot help but to pause in awe, and following the delivery of the WaterMint into her mouth through her noticably beautiful lips, her face glows as though she'd seen Santa Claus on Christmas night. It's at that point that we the viewers come to understand the power of which a pack of Watering KissMints contains; Maki is a tsundere, so she isn't one to so easily open up about her emotions, but through this life-changing experience, we learn that these Watering KissMints are no ordinary mints, but some damn good mints indeed. By the end we get a split second of Maki's beautiful face one last time before the 15 are up through a close up in the camera as she boldly says Watering KissMint one good time and soon gives us a juicy wink in the camera with the other members of Muse looking at us in the background, seemingly excited about tasting these damn good mints.
The art here is on point. Studio Sunrise did a good job keeping that glamorous artstyle of which the series is known for. +1 for the aesthetic.
In conclusion, we must remember that this was an advertisement in spite of the journey we just went on. Does it do a good job advertising this product? Damn right it does. I shall be ordering a pack of these mints myself in the future. No scratch that, I'm ordering at least two of each flavor. If Maki loves em, I'm going to love em.
