I can be quite lenient when reviewing stuff (by "stuff" I mean porn), but seriously, colour me impressed. Because I'm impressed. As I say in all my reviews, I'm a chick so sorry if that affects my review on a negative way. You have two separate stories in two different episodes and they aren't related. It's a bit like "First Love" (which is pretty awesome, by the way). The first story is about the relationship between a shy new girl in class and an asshole. He is quite the asshole. He orders her around, teases her and actually ends up cheating on her. Ew. But ... then towards the end of the first episode, he sees the errors of his ways and decides not to be a total retard, and treats her right. This leads to a pretty sensual and loved up scene at the end, but lots of the standard hentai stuff near the beginning. Sex on the roof, public masturbation encouraged by the guy and just general porny goodness. The first scene of this episode blew me away (pun not intended) because although it was loving, I also found it to be pretty intense , making me pretty breathless (admittedly) and I enjoyed watching it as a whole even though it sometimes came across as being a bit average and "yeah, yeah, seen that before". Some of the jumpier animations got a little on my nerves sometimes too.

The second episode seems to step up both the animation and the female's character design, and I really enjoyed it. The opening scene, again, was really awesome and the filters they used and the animation quality was pretty awesome. It turns out to be a... no, it's not actually a dream sequence, but it plays out like one, and so the quality drops again when we come back to real life. I feel like this series may have shot itself in the foot a little bit, because both stories open with a really awesome scene that is way above average, and then the rest kind of drags. Well, that's the case of the first episode, but the second episode rectifies this by having more than one imaginary scene of nicer quality sprinkled throughout, so you end up looking forward to them. I loved the setting of the second episode a lot more than the first, because it was (relatively) original and I'd only seen it once before in a hentai. I can't remember which one it was, though, because that was years ago when I first started watching hentai. The whole idea of mutual masturbation via the interwebs intrigued me in this storyline, and seeing it happen was really awesome and quite the turn on. I may or may not have actually done that before. *Hint* I totally did.

Damn, that was a long-ass introduction because I had to review the episodes separately, so now I'll review it as a whole!

Story. Pretty good for the first episode, but it wasn't original and so was a bit boring for me, since I've seen lots of hentai before. It was still pretty well done, though, and I have to give it some credit for that. The story for the second episode was really awesome, and I really got into it. I loved the idea of the technology that allows people to mutually masturbate online and I enjoyed watching it. The whole theme of her getting addicted to it was super interesting as well!

The art is ok, but not outstanding for the time. It's pretty average, but I do give kudos to the character designs because they are overall very beautiful and I thought all of the characters were attractive. I was pleased to see a good-looking boy character as well in the first episode. The opening scene to the first episode was really amazingly animated and the lighting was gorgeous for a hentai, but that just disappointed me because it was like I saw a glimpse of what the first episode could have been, and I had to spend the rest of the episode watching what it actually was- very average in my opinion. Except for the awesome loving scene at the end, that was cool. It's not that I don't like rough hentai or anything- I loved "Bible Black"! I just felt nothing especially awesome in the middle portion. It's like a sandwich of Awesome - Average - Awesome. A bit like "Garden: The Animation" in that respect. Starts off so good that the rest of the episode has a hard time catching up to the standard it set for itself.
The second episode was better animated and I much preferred what the girl looked like. She was super pretty! The imaginary sequences really stood out in both style and animation, and I enjoyed it a lot.

Sound isn't really worth mentioning if I'm honest, although the VA of the second girl was really good.

I much preferred the character of the second girl because she was a little less bland, but I still really liked the first girl because of the change she goes through when she's apart from her boyfriend for a week. You can guess what happens, hentai-eers.

Overall, I think the second episode is definitely worth watching as well as the first scene in the first episode. Everything else is devastatingly average and if you watch a lot of hentai, like me, then you'll be bored by the first episode mostly. I'm giving this a 7 because I feel the first episode was about a 5, but the first scene and second episode pull it up to a 7 because if the whole series had been like those it would have gotten an 8, maybe even 9 it it'd played it's cards right. It feels a bit like wasted potential, but it's very enjoyable nonetheless. Despite all the criticism I'm giving it, I enjoyed it a lot even if it did disappoint at times.

Pure-Hearted Girl Et Cetera is true to it’s name. It’s pure-hearted love (with a little extra spice).

The art style is a mix between ‘cute’ and ‘mature’. The color pallet, designs and animation are all fun and lighthearted. Everything works to get across it’s ‘clean, pure love’ aesthetic. The others works credited the studio, Studio 1st, such as Fuzzy Lips, Mokkai Shiyo and Jewelry the Animation, show that this really is their forte.

The plot matters as much as plot matters in things like romcoms: the dynamic and connection to the characters is what’s important. Both the female and male character’s have cute and unique designs.

The main ... girl is a shy new student with glasses, the guy is good-natured, and thinks she looks like she’ll grow up to be the hot mature office lady type that he’s into. It plays into that with some fun scenarios: some school rooftop exhibitionism and playing into the ‘mature office lady’ fetish.

The second, unrelated story isn’t as enjoyable, for me at least, but it isn’t something that will turn you off if you enjoyed the first.

Overall, high recommended to those looking for pure-hearted love (with a little something-something).

Junjou Shoujo Et Cetera (Pure-hearted Girl Et Cetera) is a two-part OVA series by Studio 1st. It's a fairly standard vanilla hentai, so I don't have a whole lot to say about it. I generally found it to be enjoyable, but it also doesn't do a whole lot to stand out.

So, what's the story of this hentai? Well, this series consists of two episodes, each telling a different story with different characters. The first episode follows a girl who transfers to a new school. While there, she meets a guy that has a crush on her, and they start dating. ... There's a bit of drama towards the end (revolving around a misunderstanding), but that's about it. The first episode definitely has a very simplistic story, but I think it's still the better of the two episodes for other reasons.

The second episode is much more unique. The story revolves around a different girl who's partaking in online masturbation sessions. She has a vibrator and some kind of headset that connects to another pair owned by someone else. They use these to roleplay having sex. Sorry if this explanation doesn't make any sense, you sort of have to see it to understand it. I haven't seen this plot done before, so props for originality I guess. However, I do have a few issues with this story. Firstly, this is pretty much the entire episode, the girl masturbates and pretends to have sex with someone. Not very exciting. Secondly, I feel the whole "virtual" aspect cheapens the scenes. The girl isn't really getting it on with someone, she's just shoving plastic up her coochie.

Moving on from the story; how's the art/animation? It's decent. I've seen much better, but I've also seen much worse. The characters are decently designed, I particularly like the girl from the first episode. They also have a unique art style in the second episode for the "fantasy" scenes. The animation is a little slow, but the art helps compensate for it somewhat. I think the first episode has better direction, since the sex scenes are more creative (the one on the roof being the best imo). On the downside, I found the censorship rather extreme and sloppy. Distance shots suffer in particular, since everything turns into a mass of pixals. The voice actors also had a decent performance, although I think they could've been a little more emotive.

I enjoyed Junjou Shoujo Et Cetera overall, but it wasn't spectacular. Neither episode is bad, the first one is definitely good, while the second one is more mediocre. There're some decent aspects, but there isn't really anything that stands out either. This is a perfectly average hentai, in every regard. 6/10

So, would I reccomend you watch this OVA series? Yeah, specifically the first episode. But if you decide to watch both, don't expect anything amazing.
