When someone is passionate about something they can make anything interesting. Whether its some crazy dream like going to space or something you've never heard of before like playing the Koto, their contagious passion radiates off the screen and hook us in. This list of shows the different way that people persevere and follow their dreams. Since most Shounen shows has this trope such as becoming the Hokage or making it to Koshien, I'll be skipping the more superficial and generic motivations unless it had an interesting twist to it.

Animeby dierubikdie

Anime in which a character interacts with a Rubik's-style puzzle cube in some capacity.

If you know of any anime or individual episodes that aren't listed, PM me. Change to List View to see which specific episodes the cube appears in, if applicable. If some of these lack precise context, it's probably because I haven't actually watched them yet, or because it appears several times in the anime.

(I had to change the title to this boring one because apparently having the word "MY" in the title flags it as "personal preference" and won't let me set the stack as Public)

There are good anime that stop after one or two seasons despite the source material still having a lot of good ground to cover, much to everyone's disappointment. So we wait, and wait and wait... for nothing.

This list features a selection of notable incomplete adaptations that have stuck in the limbo for at least five years without any new announcements, in most cases far longer than that. For simplicity's sake, I will only include the chronologically latest entry in the series, not the highest-rated or most widely known. The notability guideline I'm using is roughly based on a combination of rating and popularity at the time of inclusion.

What this list DOESN'T include:
* any original anime;
* any inconclusively finished anime based on games, mixed-media projects, or any other non-written sources;
* adaptations with anime-original endings meant to serve as a conclusion to the series (I strive to verify every entry in this regard, but please do inform me if something has been added in error);
* incomplete adaptations of manga and LNs that have gone on long or even indefinite hiatuses themselves, leaving potential new seasons of TV adaptation without enough content (e.g. Hunter x Hunter, Nana);
* adaptations of officially discontinued manga and LNs, as it's obvious the publisher isn't interested in having them done;
* incomplete adaptations with anime-original endings that stop before the part of the source material that very distinctly made the series' fans unhappy (Usagi Drop is a good example).

I also reserve the right not to include adaptations with anime-original ambiguous endings if there is no greater overarching plot thread carried on in the source material, or if the source material also ends ambiguously without wrapping it all up. Those are low-priority items.

See also the counterpart to this list: NotLikeThis — anime-original sequels nobody wanted: https://myanimelist.net/stacks/2355.

List alumni:
* Slam Dunk – a new movie has been announced, which will presumably pick up where the previous adaptation ended and cover the last game in the manga, which is also its best part.
* Spice and Wolf — a whole new season has been announced! Woof!

A great soundtrack can really set the mood and elevate your watching experience, it's one of the reasons why anime is so enjoyable to me.

An ongoing collection of science-fiction works that feature "realistic" space travel.

Though often featuring some vague advancement that allows for more efficient and practical spacecraft, the works listed all feature technology similar to what we know of today, and face similar issues. Instead of darting around hyperspace dressed in colourful shirts, much activity is done in orbit with bulky spacesuits. Instead of spacecraft being as common and affordable as cars, they're still rare and expensive rockets.

All works shown are in the present, near-future, or, in the case of one, an alternate past. Anything involving other worlds having been previously colonised, wars being waged across the stars or otherwise being outside the realm of possibility for the species within the next few decades do not qualify.

Slice of Life, Drama or Romance. Some are like "adult coming-of-age".

Hard science fiction is a category of science fiction characterized by concern for scientific accuracy and logic. The heart of the "hard science fiction" designation is the relationship of the science content and attitude to the rest of the narrative, and the "hardness" or rigor of the science itself. One requirement for hard SF is procedural or intentional: a story should try to be accurate, logical, credible and rigorous in its use of current scientific and technical knowledge about which technology, phenomena, scenarios and situations that are practically or theoretically possible. For example, the development of concrete proposals for spaceships, space stations, space missions, and a US space program in the 1950s and 1960s influenced a widespread proliferation of "hard" space stories.

(Note: not all of these works are considered hard sci-fi, but I decided to put them here due to them being potentially interesting to people that love logical space-themed stories as much as I do)

An anime about the everyday life of adults, from the first steps of young students to the serious work of mature men and women. There are no special rules, you can also find here some historical and moderately science fiction works, as long as they are devoted to the daily life of adults.

Continuation of the first stack.
https://myanimelist.net/stacks/10500

This should be about it.
While I could keep adding more by digging deeper, especially into the older stuff, or just adding even more mainstream titles... I feel like that'd be excessive - as I want to keep these stacks somewhat balanced and easy to digest for a broad range of people: whether you're someone who mostly watches modern anime or an oldhead that still has VHS anime.
As long as the person reading this is okay with something outside of their comfort zone - they will find something for themselves.
