Only two episodes of Kakegurui have been released but there are some obvious simulaties between the two shows. And I am actually stoked about the fact there there is another anime about gambling! In both anime's it seems like outsmarting people in the games they play and how they do it is really important. It seems Kakegurui's pace is a lot faster, since its one game per episode atleaased for now. If I had to explain Kakegurui it would probably be the story of GBK merged with the style and pase of death parada.

Both animes are very similar to each other, both heroes plot an ingenius plan to survive, both keeps you guessing until the end and hunger for the next one, both has amazing storyline. Kaiji is a genius anime without the supernatural stuff from Death note.

In both animes, main character starts with nothing in the middle of their idealized hell. Both animes talk about surpass everything that turns you down and keep going always chasing the hope.

Both are based on Manga by the same author, so expect the same character designs right from the get-go. Both also involve life or death gambles. The only real difference is that Akagi is purely a Mahjong series, and most of Akagi's gambles are merely for the thrill of it, rather than Kaiji's gambles which are merely to survive. The titular characters from both shows also have the same voice actor, who plays both roles brilliantly.

As Kaiji, One Outs is all about gambling but here tokuchi gambles only in baseball with his skills of throwing ball and by making strategies how to win the game. First I has no hope for this anime as I don't like sports genes but after watching it I loved it. The strategies are just too good, just go for it if you loved kaiji. you won't regret it. m/

It's true that the themes and feels of these two anime couldn't be further apart, but the gaming and gambling aspect is predominant in both, and NGNL is as accessible as Kaiji as most of its games are made up. Plus, they're both made by MADHOUSE.

They both deal with gambling and intense moments and the characters look like they will get F**ked over at some point

Kaiji: Against All Rules and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind both follow the story of an outlaw that got their hands into a messy organization and now have to fight these rather particular people if they don't want to live a life of despondency. In the second half of the shows, the MC and their team needs to fight against a rather ''flamboyant'' villain (Ichijou in Kaiji and Diavolo in Jojo). Lastly, the two anime have very ''unique'' character designs to say the least which really help set the atmosphere for their also ''unique'' stories.

I say code geass because it makes you think of how everything is gonna play out and it shocks me even after re watching the show and keeps you at the edge thinking "whats gonna happen next?"

Both animes have a great amount of psychological thriller, both keep you guessing, both have intellectual methods to counter problems. If you enjoyed Steins Gate intense twists and suspense, then I assure you Kaiji delievers a lot better. However if you would like to add some comedy + romance in, Steins Gate is the one.

both have do or die or kill before you get killed situations. both the main characters share same thoughts while they are scared or frighting . both have many people betraying the main character. both have somebody conducting the survival games. both have Game, Thriller genre. both the main character blame themself for being a loser. both get same feeling while watching them and get exited to watch next episode. both the main character have lost interest in life . i am sure if you like one you will love another !

You have to play a game in order to survive. It's the same ambiance, the same frustration in playing a game in which the rules are new to you.
