I thought it was pretty clear that her mom was dead, after all the whole heart of the story was Shirase coming to terms with her loss, though I could see how it could've been a bit ambiguous with how they presented it.


I do the exact same thing lol, even yesterday I read the latest chapter during class and I couldn't pay attention to the rest of the lecture because I was busy reading theories and stuff. For the Kuma flashback my pipe dream is that Ishitani directs the last ep, I can only imagine how godly the Kuma running scene would be from her.
Nah you're exactly right about the pacing, there's still a miss episode here and there but way less nowadays. I also like how the thin artstyle lets the animation be way more fluid which makes it entertaining to watch.


Ikr, I remember some people on twitter were doomposting about Egghead because some key staff members were rumored to be leaving after Wano but they couldn't have been more wrong. Like the fact that we got Vincent Chansard animating on 2 episodes in a row was crazy. I also heard about Ishizuka doing the Garp/Koby fights, the fact those eps are being hyped months in advance is a great sign.
