How do I put this... Cowboy Bebop is like the tv series Firefly but grittier and cooler. Psycho-Pass has a Cowboy Bebop feel but it's like a mix o Bebop, Bladerunner and the Minority Report with a tad of Equilibrium thrown in there. Both are Sci-Fi, both have the "cool" factor, and both are filled with great animation, music and characters. If you love either of these then I really can't imagine not loving the other. Both are amazing action Sci-Fi series!

Both of these manga should be more popular than they are. Both of these have very similar themes, and quite frankly if you're a fan of one piece or naruto I think both of these would be good to read as well. However I am recommending katekyo Hitman Reborn if you like History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi because they are so similar to eachother. Both have a really weak main character that is super whimpy in more than one way at the beginning. Both main characters have no friends but earn them as the story progresses. Both main characters get stronger for the sake of protecting the ones they care about. Both manga are filled with comedy (Kenichi is far more ecchi though) and both have some pretty amazing artwork as they go. Reborn is a little more magical as far as how they fight, whereas Kenichi is about martial arts and ki. Both simply have a similar feel and very similar themes. Kenichi is still ongoing but Reborn has finished. Both are very long, and both are excellent.

Magi
add

Let's start by saying this... Fairy tail and Magi are both similar in a lot of ways. They are both adventure stories filled with tons of magic. They are both comradery themed, and their basis is good vs. evil and protecting the ones you love. Now they are different in plenty of ways too. Fairy Tail is more of an ensemble cast that Magi, but it is also further along. Magi focuses mostly on 3 characters so far but has plenty of supporting characters as well. Both are far superior to their anime counter parts, but they both have a fun adventure feel to them. Magi is heavily inspired from 1001 arabian nights, so it is interesting to see what was borrowed from those stories. Mostly character names more so than anything else, but they incorporate a few "details" from the stories as well. (ie. alibaba and his 40 thieves are integrated differently than the original, and especially Aladdin and his genie). I find it hard to believe that if you like fairy tail you won't like Magi, so that's the main reason i recommend Magi if you loved Fairy Tail.

I'll start by saying that fans of these series go back and forth arguing which is better. They are both different in that Naruto is about Ninjas and One Piece is about Pirates. They both have a main character that is kind of an idiot, gets stronger as the story goes on, defeats many opponents he has no business even fighting and so much more. Both are heavily themed about comradery and how important it is to have "nakama" you care for and take care of. Naruto was my gateway anime/manga, and in my search for something to fill my time between my obsession of Naruto I eventually came upon One Piece. Though it starts out as a fun little adventure story (not quite as strong in the beginning as Naruto), it becomes an amazingly epic adventure that surpasses Naruto in many many ways. Most importantly, the delivery week to week is far superior. The overall story is greater imo. However, these 2 are at the top of my Wednesday reading schedule. These 2 are the ones I am collecting volumes on before all others. Don't compare these 2, just read and enjoy. They are different yet the same and they are both amazing in their own ways.

OK, so it's a little embarrassing that I watch these, but these are good time fillers. Both have a small group of young girls that kick a little butt. Both are filled with fan service up the wazoo. Both have fun characters. Vividred is actually not bad until the "dock" where it gets overly cheesy Senran Kagura isn't quite as cheesy but it has similar cheesy moment. Senran Kagura is ninjas Vividred is ... well girls that apparently kick butt with a little help from magical/scientific-esque keys. If you like one then you are bound to like the other.

Maoyuu Maou Yuusha
add

I'll start by saying that these are different in a lot of ways, but the overall feel and some of the themes are the same. SAO only touches on what Maoyuu Maou Yuusha is all about. While they both have some cool action here and there (SAO has more than Maoyuu Maou Yuusha by far, which isn't a lot if you've seen SAO), they both deal with bigger themes and they are mostly about the relationship between the lead male and female characters. They both are midieval themed with some magic and monsters, and the main character in both is the strongest fighter in the land. They are both love stories but have day to day life and survival themes woven into them. I found myself thinking about SAO occasionally when watching Maoyuu Maou Yuusha. That's why I recommend it if you liked SAO.

Mondajiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo? really caught me off guard. It's an incredibly magical experience, so if you like Fairy Tail then I think you'll love this. Both have interesting humor, lots of magic and spectacular adventure. I just started Mondajiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo? and I am already hooked.

I recommend the original Dragon Ball series if you loved Hunter X Hunter (2011). Yes it's older, but the silly themes and fun adventure stories are similar in feel, and with the many many similar story elements, it's hard not to compare the two when watching the other. If you love Gon, you'll love Goku and vice versa. Definitely see it if you haven't.

I recommend Hunter X Hunter is you are a Dragon Ball Z fan for 1 very important reason. The first time I watched this series I couldn't help but make constant comparisons between Gon Freecs and Goku. They have an especially similar story arc that the anime hasn't reached yet, but the manga series has finished that reminded me of the Cell arc (I mean, really close in a lot of ways). Manga aside, Hunter X Hunter feels like a smarter version of Dragon Ball (but with no dragon balls). There are great characters in both, and If you like Dragon Ball then you should like Hunter X Hunter (2011) as well.

Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic
add

Both have to do with mages/magic. Both have main characters that have high morals and there's a huge comradery theme throughout. Both have plenty of comedy, but they get serious when they need to. Both are a lot of FUN to watch. Both are based on Manga that are worth reading, especially if you like the anime adaptations. Both are must sees, and I can't imagine liking one but not the other. They are based on different historical themes, but they are both character driven with a bigger story that unravels as time goes on. Magi is a little more serious and done a little better than Fairy Tail, but both are MUST SEE anime.

Naruto: Shippuuden
add

Both have a main character that gets stronger throughout the story. Both main characters are sort of idiots. Both main characters fight to protect their comrades. There is a lot of comedy, and the fighting scenes revolve around honor and doing the right thing. One piece is about pirates, and Naruto is about ninjas. Shippuuden is the continuation of the series Naruto, and it takes place after a 2-3 year time skip. One piece also has a time skip but way later in the series. One Piece wasn't split into a second series like Naruto. They are both extremely long running, and they are both "gateway" anime. If you love one, then you typically will love the other one in my experience. Both are unique in a lot of ways, and both are heavily inspired by Dragon Ball.

They both are themed after the catholic church (or entity closely resembling) doing battle with demons. Both deal with super powers, and both have a unique main character that brings others close to them. Both are filled with a ton of great characters, though one is darker than the other. Ao No Exorcist (a.k.a. Blue Exorcist) is the lighter more fun series D.Gray-man is dark and kind of brutal at times Having nakama to help you are huge themes in both stories. Overcoming pain and defeating demons are key themes.

Both stories have an incredibly weak main character that becomes stronger throughout the story. Both characters have no friends and make them as they go. Both characters get stronger for the sake of their friends, and they have similar messages about doing what's right for the sake of others. Both have a lot of really good comedy and are a bit over the top at times. Both are also adapted from manga series and only cover part, so I recommend reading both manga because the manga are actually a little better than the anime.

Both are story driven, though Eureka Seven is not as psychological as Neon Genesis Evangelion. Both are appealing even if you're not into mecha anime. Both have a bit of a love story though Eureka Seven is driven by the love story. Most importantly, these are gems that should not be missed.
