Looking at the title, I was sure it was going to be a drama, lol. It was also an arranged marriage between the main characters, so imagine all the angst. But surprisingly, it was more than that.
Second chance romances are always a hit or miss for me, but surprisingly I enjoyed this manhwa overall. This manhwa started when MLs divorced wife (FL) came back. Since it was a sudden divorce, it didn’t end pretty well. Which is why their first meeting after three years also didn’t end well for FL. The ML was a bit annoying since it’s obvious how he can’t separate personal life

from work, but it was pretty understandable because it’s obvious he hasn’t moved on and is still in love with her.
After a bit of confrontation because of their past, the ML fortunately caved in and started to pursue a relationship again with FL even though he still didn’t know the real reason for their sudden divorce before. I have to give him credit, since the guy finally followed his heart despite the confusion and hurt from the past. I love that!
There was also a second male lead, but surprisingly, he wasn’t forceful considering how long he waited to be with her. That was a bit sad, but I was still happy that he finally got justice for his father.
When it finally showed me the reason why the FL asked for a divorce, I can’t help but feel sorry for her. No one deserves to be treated like that even if they are a product of an affair. But the twist after that was surprising. I wish the evil stepmother had a more satisfying end. Urgh, the audacity of that witch! Well, atleast FL finally has her happy ending despite her painful past.
Aside from the FL, the ML also didn’t have a happy family. So I was really proud reading how both the ML and FL faced their past and finally moved forward for their happy ending. Now that’s how it should be done!
Definitely a must read!

It takes two tomorrow, too. Reading that title the first time, I was kind of confused, but on the good side, *wink. And once I finished this manga, I can see why. Plus, it was pretty adorable too!
I don’t usually use the word adorable with my romance especially if there’s no kids involved, but this story is just that even without kids or cute pets! Just seeing this cute couple together and being silly with each other is just adorbs!
But before I’ll tell you more about what I think of this manga, let me give you a very short summary on what this story is

all about. It takes two tomorrow, too is a short story detailing the life of the couple Yuya and Rio after they moved in together. Was it the perfect choice? Or was it a disaster?
And as you can see on my stars above, this one was a hit! I’ve been constantly reading intense manhwas lately, so this manga is definitely a nice breeze of fresh air, and I love that! This story started with the couple agreeing into moving in together and the rest after was showcasing what their life has become after living together. Most of my romance just ends with the couple getting together or getting married, so it was pretty interesting to read a story about the couple’s life after living on one roof.
Another thing I love about this story was the fun interaction of the couple, as well as some other side characters as well. Which mind you, makes sense in real life too. So I really like that.
The couple’s scenario was also different in each chapter, so I’m sure you can find one or more favorites, *wink.
As for the art, I think it fits well with the story. The pacing and panel were also pretty easy to read and follow. As for the character design, I think both fit each other’s personality pretty well. So no complaints on that one, *wink.
Overall, it was a fun read. I just love how free and content I feel after finishing this story. That said, I think the number of chapters for this volume is perfect for me (though I’ll be retracting the remaining .5 star for the next volumes, *wink). Definitely a short read done right!
If you are looking for a good read to relax, then It Takes Two Tomorrow, Too is it!

I love fantasy and adventure shounen anime, so when I saw a snippet of Black Clover on Facebook, I knew I had to watch it. It’s currently on-going at the time so I told myself that I need to binge watch it when it’s finished because I have a feeling that this series is going to be really great. And tada! As usual, I forgot to check this series, lol.

I really love because it makes me feel that it’s final. Heck, it’s not like it’s impossible to watch them again lol. So last month, I finally had the courage to finish it. And tada! I still love it like the day I started this series. It was sooooooo good! You really have to watch it if you love fantasy!
I finished this series last month, and it’s only just now that I decided to write the review, lol. So please bear with my review below. I hope I can give justice to how good this series is.
Opening & Closing Themes + Songs
I believe that all opening and closing themes of Black Clover are bomb! I don’t think there’s even one that was poorly made because everything always gives stars to my eyes. This series has 170 episodes with 13 closing and ending themes, but from start to finish, the quality was always maintained.
Aside from the animation, the songs were equally as perfect as well. It was so good that I don’t think I skipped watching them in every episode lol, *wink.
I don’t think I only have 1 favorite because as I’ve said, everything just looks so good. So I’ll just share the final opening instead for you to feast your eyes, hehehe.
STORY
Black Clover shows us an amazing story of a boy named Asta who works very hard to achieve his dream of becoming the Wizard King despite not having magic power. His journey was very hard, but it was really heartwarming to see his determination and positive attitude despite the hardships.
This series’ main setting is in the Clover kingdom which comprises magic knights that protects the kingdom. That being said, magic is everything in this world. Imagine having a magic knight without magic, eh?
I really enjoyed this series. For me, this series gave me all the things that I love in my anime - action, magic, excitement, happiness and emotion. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed and appreciate this series, so I’m begging you, please try it! Chaar, wahahaha. But seriously, it was really good, plus you won’t be disappointed with the animation.
The character development is also huge in this series. And almost all the characters are very likable.
CHARACTERS
The thing I like about long series is that they have a wide range of unique and fun characters, and Black Clover is also the same. There’s a lot of characters here, but they are very easy to tell apart because they all have different personalities, so I’m sure you will also have one or more characters that you will be cheering on, *wink.
As for the main focus, Asta, I absolutely love his character. He doesn’t have magic power, which is very rare since everyone has magic power and the only difference is how strong or weak they are per person. Since he doesn’t have magic power, he compensates with his physical abilities. He trains everyday to get stronger and always has a positive attitude even if there are a lot of people who discourage him. And I am one of those people that are so happy and proud everytime he accomplishes the impossible and shows everyone his strength.
In this kind of series, it’s normal to have a childhood friend, a family member or an idol that are considered stronger and more popular than the main character in the story. As for this series, we have a childhood friend, Yuno, who is popular not just because of his strong magic, but also because of his looks. When I started this series, I was not fond of him. He’s very rude to Asta, and I really hated that. But that didn’t last long though. He’s a crybaby as a kid so I can understand how he wants to prove himself after promising to Asta that he will become strong and will compete with him to become the next wizard king. He’s quite a popular character to viewers, but I can’t seem to make him a favorite character, lol. Probably because liking Asta is more than enough to fill my heart.
ART & ANIMATION
The animation especially on the battle scenes were soooooo good. I'm not really an expert on this part, but even a noob like me can really appreciate how great it was. I loved it when they added this "manga" feel (not sure if that's an accurate description on that one lol) on every intense battle that even though I haven't read the manga yet, but it's giving me that "feels".
As for the character design, it was pretty unique. I am not actually a fan of thick necks for the muscular characters, but I learned to love it since two of the most badass characters in this series look like one, lol.
Voice Actors
Not gonna comment more on the Japanese dub, because I don’t think I ever encounter one that I really hate. So as usual, it was perfect.
As for the English dub, it was surprisingly good. I want to say that I am not picky in this aspect of anime, but once in a while you will meet anime series that will make you shudder because of how bad the English dubs are. And fortunately, Black Clover has a decent English dub. There may be some characters that sound a little cringy, but the majority sounds really good.
FILLERS
I have to add this one, because this series only has a few and almost all of them were very enjoyable to watch. You would even wish there’s more, lol. They are also placed nicely, and not on cliff hangers episodes (like some anime we all know, lol), so all’s good, *wink.

Black Clover series ends with the team getting ready to fight the spade kingdom, and I heard it was really epic in manga, so what a shame. There’s a new movie available on netflix, and I can’t watch it without writing this review first, lol. So I hope it’s as good or even greater than the series <3
That said, if you are a fan of the shounen and fantasy/action genre, Black Clover is highly recommended!

I always enjoy supernatural stories and I am especially interested in Japanese folktales or anything youkai, *wink. Although A Letter to Momo doesn’t center more on that aspect, just seeing those three troublesome youkai is enough to pique my attention, *wink.
A Letter to Momo
When this movie started, the first thing I noticed was the animation. I love that it instantly reminds me of my fun childhood memories in the countryside. You could say that the animation alone already gave that fun rural vibe which fits perfectly in this movie’s setting. Definitely a big plus for me!

on the youkai aspect but they played a big role in this story. As per synopsis, Momo and her mother moved to the countryside (more accurately to be called an island) after her father’s death. In there we get to see her struggle to adapt in her new environment plus her heart’s unrest because of her father’s unfinished letter.
Her quiet and lonely life in that unfamiliar town took quite a turn by the arrival of three troublesome youkai. These three youkai have peculiar appearance and personalities. Although they can be annoying sometimes, I have to say that they are mostly fun to watch. Their shenanigans were usually hilarious with some of them leaving you face palming, lol. It was also interesting to know more about them, especially on their “secret mission”. I think it was pretty fascinating.
After giving me a laugh, this movie also left me in tears. A Letter to Momo delves more on the struggle of the remaining family members after the death of their loved one. Here we see how Momo and her mother deal with their own grief differently, which also resulted in conflict later on in the movie. During that time, there’s also an incident regarding her mother’s asthma that made the three youkai act. Watching that scene on the bridge with the youkai never gets old to me. You really have to look forward on that when you decided to watch this movie, *wink.
A Letter to Momo is definitely one of those few anime films that I believe could hold its own against some of the most loved Ghibli films. Highly recommended!

OPENING & CLOSING THEMES + SONGS
I don’t think I ever have any opening or closing themes that I hated especially in my slice of life anime, and it’s no different for this series. The intro was so cute and colorful which surprisingly reminds me of those childhood shows that I like. Just watching the opening already makes me feel relaxed, which really is the reason why I love slice of life genre, *wink. The song suits the opening as well, which sounds really cute <3

STORY
This is a story of a four year old boy named Kotaro who lives alone in an apartment complex. There he met some adults who soon became his friends and guardians.
A four year old kid living alone?! Honestly, when I started this anime I didn’t think it would work out considering the technicalities. But it’s hard to dwell on that one when Kotaro is very cute and acts so mature unlike his age. I really love how he influences the people around him, just watching this anime just proves why I love this genre. It was just so heartwarming how the people around him can’t help but love this kid.
His life definitely is hard, he’s still a kid but he can’t live like one since he needs to be an adult to live. His backstory was revealed little by little as you watch this series, and I’m not sure what to think. Should I feel sad for him? Or be proud? Maybe I should feel both? I really love how he endured and always thinks of other people before himself. Seriously, this kid is more mature than I do, lol.
Aside from heartwarming scenes, this series has a lot of cute scenes as well, especially Kotaro's scenes with the cats. Just looking at that scene, you can really see that he is still a child, so precious <3
That ending was really sweet and you can’t help but imagine what his life would be years from now. And really hope that everything would work out well for him, *smile.
CHARACTERS
You’ll definitely finish this series feeling so proud of Kotaro. Considering he doesn’t have parents to guide him growing up, you can see that despite all of that, he was able to grow up so well. I think he’s more mature compared to all adults in this anime, lol.
The side characters are something you also need to look forward to. I just love seeing how they care for Kotaro and make sure to help him eventhough he always insists on not asking for help from anyone. I don’t think there’s someone in this anime that isn’t likable, even the gangster looking character lol.
ART & ANIMATION
I think the animation was pretty good and was able to deliver the message this anime wants to portray to its viewers. The only thing I didn’t like in this anime was the eyes hahaha, I just think that Kotaro’s eyes look like a frog, so sorry hahaha. Other than that, I think everything looks good, *wink.
VOICE ACTORS
The EN dubbed sounds fine sometimes(?), but I highly recommend watching it in JP dubbed to fully appreciate the anime and be immersed with the emotion especially on emotional parts.

To my surprise, I really enjoyed watching Dororo. My mood has been very crazy since the start of this year because of work, so I didn’t expect much when I decided to watch this anime. Oh boy, what a surprise. A very nice surprise.
I’m not sure if I will be able to describe how much I enjoyed this anime in my review below, so please just bear with it, hehehe.
INTRO & ENDING THEMES + SONGS

wasn’t a surprise eh, hahahaha.
The ending themes on the other hand were a masterpiece. I don’t usually care that much about the ending because I tend to just watch once and then skip next. But the art of Dororo’s endings were amazing for me to just skip. Heck, don’t even get me started with the song. Just like with the opening songs, the ending songs fit perfectly with the overall feel of the ending themes as well.
STORY
This is a story of a boy’s journey on getting his body back from the demons. His father made a pact with the 12 demons to aid their prefecture’s growth at a price - and that was at his first son’s expense.
Along his journey, he met this kid named Dororo who soon became his companion and a person who also became important to him. The two of them encountered not just demons but also some people who wanted to harm them.
This story was set in a feudal era of samurai where there’s war and famine. And with the addition of demons, I think made this anime even more interesting.
MAIN CHARACTERS
Hyakkimaru. Hyakkimaru had a really hard life. The betrayal of the people who are supposed to love him, and all of those hardships he needs to endure as a result. Maan, it was really hard not to sympathize with him. In his journey to get back his body, he made a lot of discoveries that really changed him. His character development was really nice to see. He still has a lot to go after that ending, but giving us a glimpse on what’s coming next makes me so hopeful. I am just so happy for him <3
Dororo. I really adore this kid. Dororo is like a ray of sunshine. In a very cruel world they live in, and with all hose bad experiences they've encountered, Dororo remained pure hearted. I love how Dororo cares so much for Hyakkimaru and when faced with many adversaries, Dororo still persists.
ART & ANIMATION
MAPPA definitely didn’t disappoint at all. The character design, the composition and animation, everything just looks beautiful. Even with episodes that have a lot of blood shown all over, lol.
And the fight scenes, you can’t definitely mention this series without appreciating the fight scenes. Great story, with great fight scenes, equals great anime series.
VOICE ACTORS
I watched this anime in both the original (English sub) and English dub. I want to believe that I am not very particular in this aspect of anime, but I guess it depends on the anime itself, wahahaha. In all fairness, I believe that the English dub of this anime was decent. I don’t think it was awkward at all. Oh well, maybe it’s just for me, wahahaha.
I don’t think I need to comment about the original dub eh? Hahaha. I don’t remember that I hated any original dub from all the anime I’ve watched so far though.

Dororo beautifully combined historical, supernatural, adventure and a whole lot of samurai into one awesome series. Definitely a remake made right.
If you’re a fan of any of those genres, I’m sure you’ll enjoy Dororo like I did. Have fun watching, *wink.

I first heard of this story when I stumbled upon a jdrama which was based on this manga a few years ago. I really find the idea of a person being someone else’s pet amusing. I know what you’re thinking, wahahaha. This one isn’t kinky at all, it was actually pretty wholesome.
Kimi wa pet is a story of Sumire who stumbled upon a box containing a young Takeshi. She fed him and found out that he had nowhere to go. Takeshi wants to stay, but he can only stay if he becomes her pet.

Thinking that saying such preposterous things would discourage Takeshi, Sumire was surprised he agreed. Both of their lives after that encounter changed forever. Was it for good or bad?
This story started with introducing Sumire who I would say is a perfect example of a “strong independent woman”. That would have been a great thing right? Unfortunately because of it, her boyfriend of 5 years cheated on her and made her feel that it was all because of her that it had happened. She is also not that well liked in their office because she looks really stiff and strict. But her life took a turn after taking in Takeshi whom she’d named Momo, which was her dead pet’s name.
Kimi wa pet is quite a lengthy read for a josei so it includes a lot of scenes not only focusing about the relationship between the main characters but also about some of the side characters as well. And speaking of characters, this story has a lot of them so I find it hard to keep track of them sometimes. Just like most manga that I’ve read, Kimi wa pet has a lot of very funny scenes that left me laughing my heart out. Maannn! I still can’t stop myself from laughing just thinking about those scenes, lol.
Aside from the happy ones, Kimi wa pet had a lot of scenes that I really hated. Unfortunately this story contains one of the things I hate in romance, which is the third party. I just keep on hating the other girl that I also ended up hating the other love interest of Sumire as well. He was actually a pretty ideal guy and I love how he reacts to Sumire. You can really see how he adores her, plus they really look good together. He can be pretty funny too lol, just too bad he wasn’t able to keep that image for me until the end. Although I kind of pity him a little in the end.
As for the main character Sumire, I really liked my first impression of her. She’s a really tough chick and she doesn’t accept b*llsh*t. She can be really harsh at times but I guess that’s just how she is. Little by little, I’ve got to really see the real her and why she’s like that. She looks really tough but she can be fragile too. I really like her character, but I just hated how she can’t always voice out her real feelings and how she always delays informing her boyfriend about her pet, that in the end, I don’t think he ever found out. I also liked Momo’s influence on her, ever since they were living together as master and pet, Sumire was finally able to create connections with other people and express herself. I just find it really interesting getting to know her character in each chapter.
Momo on the other hand is very fun to read. I usually don’t like childish characters, but his childishness is not in an annoying way. He is also very outgoing so it’s hard to imagine those hardships he experienced in the past and in the present too. When he’s with Sumire, he’s very childish and playful which makes him look like a real pet dog, lol. He ran away from home. That’s why he doesn’t have a place of his own, so despite his age you could say that he knows a lot about life. I guess he also has this promiscuous side to him, but I think it was only seen around 2 times while I was reading this story. He’s years younger than Sumire but he taught her a lot of things. I also LOVE how he loves Sumire so much, I just can’t imagine how he’s been feeling all those times while Sumire is still in a relationship with her boyfriend, who is also her first love.
As for the romance, I guess it’s already pretty obvious who’s going to be the main couple right? There were a lot of annoying characters who really irritated me but I guess that just helps Sumire realize whom she really wants to be with. The hint is actually there in its early chapters, but I like how the mangaka transitioned her feelings until she finally realized that she’s in love. Their official relationship started in a long distance romance, but I love how the two of them made it work. I particularly like their virtual date, it was really cute. I also love the fact that the two of them didn’t sacrifice anything in their life just to make their relationship work, even though it could mean that they’ll be in a long distance relationship.
I also love the fact that this manga didn’t just end after the two of them were finally in a relationship but we’ve got to read more! It didn’t just focus on the relationship between the two but also the friendship between Sumire and her best friend. Actually, this manga didn’t just show me romance, but it also gave me life lessons and realizations that we could apply in our daily life. We’ve also got to read about friendships between the characters and work life (especially about relationships between coworkers). Isn’t that nice?
Kimi wa pet is highly recommended for every romance lover. I am certain that this will really entertain you, *wink.

I can’t believe I waited a year to finally watch Haikyuu's latest season!!!!!
Seems like that has been my line lately, wahahaha. But seriously, I guess I just get cowardly when it comes to my favorite series. I always make excuses to hold on to them as long as I can, but then again, no one can tell me not to watch it again and again right? So I should really watch or read them sooner if I really want to and not make excuses every time. That is probably what I am going to work on changing next year, *wink.
Back to this series, I have

been following it since I first watched it last 2018. I even wrote an article about how I really enjoyed this series here. So I’ve watched 4 seasons and all its OVAs and movies for the past year. Does this series still hold a big place in my heart? Looking at my rating above, it still sure did. Let me tell you more about it through the points below.

Opening & Closing Themes + Song
I always love ALL Haikyuu openings and it's no different for this season. I just love how watching its opening themes and listening to its song makes you feel really happy, motivated and extremely excited. I actually didn’t skip the opening in every episode while watching this season, it was just addicting and added more excitement to the already exciting episodes this season has.
The ending theme on the other hand feels so nostalgic seeing all of those teams that Karasuno team once played with during their journey towards the nationals. Then ending it with the scene where Hinata first saw the “little giant” whom he idolized so much. Maannnn, all the feels! And don’t get me started with the song. It was just beautiful. Waaaahhhh!
Story
In favor of those who haven’t heard of this anime yet, Haikyuu is the Japanese term for volleyball. And yes, this anime is about a group of talented high schoolers in a volleyball club. It’s best to watch this series in order to fully appreciate the plot, most especially the character development, *wink.
I am not big on sports anime, and there’s only very few out there that I really like and Haikyuu is definitely on my top 3. Even after four seasons, I still feel the same excitement I felt when I watched its first season. This series just gets better and better each season.
For this season, the main focus is their match against the number 2 team, Inarizaki. It’s their second match in the nationals so they were surprised to match with them early on in their nationals journey. When you stop and think about it, it's definitely a very big hurdle for the Karasuno team, but then again, it’s not like it's their first time fighting stronger teams. Their journey towards the nationals was a very bumpy one but also very inspiring. If you haven’t watched the previous seasons yet, I urge you to watch it now!
Before watching this season, I actually searched in advance who’s going to win because I can’t handle the suspense, hahaha. And I have to say guys, even with that knowledge, I was still soooo invested in this season. It was just so thrilling! I remember cheering loudly and with a big smile plastered on my face while watching this series. Ahhhh, it was really good and inspiring!
I really love that it didn’t just focus on the game play alone but we get personal with the players as well. And that makes it even more fulfilling to watch. It just makes you proud how far the boys have come <3 Another thing I like about Haikyuu is that even though they have two main characters, they didn’t just focus on them but also on the side characters as well. There were no super super unbelievable stunts and no selfish play but instead they gave us great teamwork. I don’t play sports, but seeing everyone working together in this series just warms my heart.
And not just that! We also got to see the Nekoma team during their match and it wasn’t just for a few minutes but for two episodes! How nice is that right?!
As for the ending. Oh maaaan, I can’t think of any other way to properly end this season but with that amazing play. It was sooooo good, I even cried. Uwaaaah, I’m really so happy for mah boys <3
And with that, the most anticipated battle at the garbage dump is finally happening! I can’t really wait to see it.
Characters
Hinata, Shouyou
I always liked Hinata even from the start. He’s just like a ball of sunshine and I love how dedicated he is with volleyball. He’s very energetic and so cute that it’s hard not to like his character. He’s very funny too and once in a while when he gets really serious, you can’t help but say “cool” over and over again. Compared to his old self for the past season, I have to say that he’s grown so much. Not with his height, unfortunately (ahahaha), but on his skills as an athlete. Dang, this kid just keeps on getting better and better each time.
Another thing I like about him is his ability to influence others and he doesn’t even do anything out of the ordinary. He’s simply that kind of person who cheers everyone up when they’re feeling sad or changes the atmosphere when everything has been so intense and messy. We’ve seen him getting afraid, frustrated and pressured in the past seasons so it was really reassuring to see him so motivated in this season. It gives you the idea that nothing in this match can break the kid, and he sure didn’t!
He also showed the nationals crowd that his height doesn’t make him less of a player and that he’s also a force to be reckoned with.
Kageyama, Tobio
Looking at him now, I still can’t believe he’s the same Kageyama from the first season that doesn’t know how to work well with his team mates. He’s naturally gifted but doesn’t know teamwork. And look at him now! Hinata is my favorite, but I can’t help myself cheering for Kageyama as well while watching this series, particularly this season.
I also love how competitive Kageyama is with Hinata, but still work so well together despite that. I think and I’m sure most viewers and fans think that it was because of that competition that the two of them continue to dramatically grow and get better each play.
Aside from those two main characters, I’m sure you will also enjoy the side characters as well, even their opponents. Everyone including their opponents has their own screen time which makes you feel really personal with each character. This series always does that really well.
Art
I’ve been watching this series since the beginning but I can’t see any reason not to love everything. When I first watched it, I thought the character design is a bit weird, but then again, that’s what I usually feel whenever I watch a new series so that’s pretty normal. Thinking about it now, I think what made me think it was weird at first was because they look almost the same except for the hairstyle, hair color, eyes or eyelashes, which is pretty normal especially on a series that has a lot of characters. And Haikyuu has a lot of them! But don’t fret, each character has their own sets of striking personalities so you won’t definitely get confused who’s who from who.
For the animation, I think it’s pretty hard to animate sports anime because even a slightest mistake on the camera angle can affect the viewing experience. I’m not saying that other genres don't have that problem, but I guess you could say that the pressure is doubled for the sports genre. Just imagining how to make each toss or receive appealing even to those who aren’t into sports is daunting enough. I can’t say the same for everyone, but for me, Haikyuu definitely did well in that aspect. Every play was just so exciting and thrilling to watch, I can’t count how many times I want to cry or shout with excitement watching this season, or this series rather.
And don’t get me started with those eye catchers (they are those intro type clips that are often in the middle of an episode). They vary in each episode, and I have to say that all of them are just so cute to watch. I guess you could say that the eye catcher is one of those that I am always looking forward to seeing in each episode, hehehe.
Voice Actors
I’ve watched this series in both English and Japanese dubs simultaneously, but for this season, I only watch it on Japanese dub. I don’t think I need to say more about the Japanese dub because they’re perfect as ever. When it comes to Japanese dub, it’s really hard to name my favorites because they’re a lot (or should I say almost all of the anime I’ve watched have outstanding Japanese dubs), but I am proud to say that Haikyuu is definitely in my top list of anime that has very convincing Japanese voice actors.
As for the English dub, I really think it was good. I may be mistaken since it's been a long time ago, but I think I remember myself still getting very excited even on thrilling scenes while watching it on English dub.
But then again, it depends on personal preference really. Just watch it on whatever your preference is when it comes to dubs, and I’m sure you’ll have an amazing experience.

I highly recommend Haikyuu even to those who're not into sports like me. I guarantee you that it is worth a watch.

Just like the Tokyo Revengers, Jujutsu Kaisen was really popular when it was first aired last year. And seeing that it is supernatural, I knew I had to watch it too, unfortunately I wasn’t able to watch it sooner, hahaha.
I only watched the trailer this year, but seeing all those posts about this anime on my facebook feed, I have a feeling that I will really enjoy this one. And I sure did!
Opening & Closing Theme + Song: 8/10

The first ending theme on the other hand is very cute. And that song!!!!!!
The second opening also looks captivating, but I think it lacks excitement when compared to the first opening. The second closing on the other hand exudes emotion, not just because of the scenes but also because of the song. I love it!
Story: 6/10
Jujutsu Kaisen has a very simple story: monsters (curses) exist, people eliminate these curses (sorcerers). In terms of originality, there isn’t that much, but Jujutsu Kaisen has a really strong power system, which is the cursed energy. Cursed energy is kind of like Chakra from Naruto. Both need a good amount of focus and training to achieve them. The only difference is that in Naruto, chakra exists in all beings, however in Jujutsu Kaisen, not everyone has cursed energy. Those who can’t use cursed energy use cursed tools instead which is a really interesting concept.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s story as a whole may be typical and generic, but I think they were able to deliver just enough message through its story and characters which gives it that tiny edge over other successful shounen series. There are only 24 episodes for the first season, so I understand the time constraints but I really like how they were able to make use of the time and gave us not just action packed scenes but also interesting backstory of not just the main characters but also the other characters involved. I believe all of those scenes are a healthy amount of seasoning where it doesn’t feel forced at all, and quite natural within the scope of each character and their personalities.
However, the first episode may be a bit of a downer since we literally jumped right into the world of curses without much exploration of the relationship between Itadori and his deceased grandfather. But I think for me, it wasn’t a total downer since I always love my series to start with action hahaha, but it will eventually brought up on the next episodes, *wink.
Another thing I like about this series is how it was able to switch tones from dark and gritty into a light hearted one perfectly. There was definitely no boring moment in the entire time I was watching it, despite the story being simple and typical, I really enjoyed this series.
Sometimes simplicity isn’t always the killer, and Jujutsu Kaisen definitely proved that to me, *wink.
Characters: 9/10
Itadori, Yuuji
At the start of this series, you can already see that he’s a very likeable character so he gets along well with basically anyone. He’s also physically gifted so it was no wonder how easily he got stronger even though most of his training is just binge watching a movie lol (but there’s an explanation to that, hahaha).
Just like most shounen main characters, Itadori may look and act like an idiot but he sticks to his principle which is actually very admirable. It’s just a very short watch, but I really like watching his growth in this series.
Fushiguro, Megumi
Just looking at him, you can already tell that he’s probably the most sensible in the trio. So I was really surprised that he used to be such a delinquent before, hahaha. He cares for his friends and you can really see his potential to be a great sorcerer.
Kugisaki, Nobara
The only girl in the trio, but don’t let that fool you. Kugisaki is both girly and strong, the same qualities that I want to have for my female leads. She’s confident of her beauty and doesn’t flinch to get dirty when fighting, which is really badass. She also cares for her friends and is such a really interesting character.
Gojou, Satoru
The ever popular Gojou sensei. You can’t talk about Jujutsu Kaisen without mentioning Gojou. He’s the most powerful jujutsu sorcerer, like very OP! It was actually hard to imagine at first since he’s very playful and carefree...unless he gets really serious. You’ve got to see him without his blindfolds on, I’m sure you’ll get jealous how beautiful his eyes and EYELASHES are. I swear he and Fushiguro have the most beautiful eyelashes in this series, lol.
Aside from those I’ve individually mentioned above, Jujutsu Kaisen has some really cool side characters like Panda, Maki, Inumaki, Toudou. Every character in this series is freaking good and interesting, even the antagonists Sukuna and Mahito have a considerable amount of depth to them which makes this series even better.
Art: 10/10
I don’t usually fuss on this aspect just as long as it looks beautiful to me and I love the story. There were some few anime out there that looked beautiful but failed in the fighting scenes, but Jujutsu Kaisen delivered perfectly on both. I’m not sure about you, but I love everything.
I haven’t read the manga yet so I can’t differentiate or make a comparison whether they closely follow the manga or not, but I really liked the character design.
Also another thing that is worth mentioning is Jujutsu Kaisen’s eye catchers. They are those intro type clips that are often in the middle of an episode. Jujutsu Kaisen’s eye catcher is captivating, and I love this horror-y feel to it.

To sum it all up, Jujutsu Kaisen is definitely a very good series. New anime don’t always work for me, but I have to say that this series is definitely one of the good ones. YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY WATCH THIS!

I’ve been seeing a lot of Tokyo Revengers posts in my Facebook stream eversince it was aired. Saying that I wasn’t interested was an understatement. Without reading its synopsis or watching its trailer, I instantly added it to my to-watch list.
Seeing that it was THAT popular, having expectations is impossible not to have at all when I started this series. Let’s see if it reached my expectations, shall we.
Opening & Closing Themes + Song
I didn’t particularly like the opening theme when I first saw it, but it gives a 90s anime vibe because of its animation and character design. I just learned to appreciate its

opening once I finally got a grasp of the plot. The song isn’t usually my favorite upbeat anime song, but after watching a few more episodes, I think it suits well with the opening.
It is important to note that Tokyo Revengers only has 1 opening theme but 2 closing themes. Usually for a 24 episodes long season, we’ll get 2 pairs of opening and closing. I think for this one a single opening is enough since it pretty much covered what to expect for this series as a whole.
As for the closing themes, I actually liked both as well as the songs. The first closing is more on the romance – romantic relationship between Takemichi and Hina, while the 2nd closing theme is giving off a cool vibe. I especially love the Tokyo city lights starter, and ofcourse seeing all the Tokyo Manji gang looking so cool, *wink.
Story
I absolutely don’t have any idea that this one is going to be a time travelling series. I was even dumb enough to think that it was isekai while watching the first episode, lol.
Time travelling isn’t one of my favorite plots but I don’t specifically hate it since I’ve watched some time travelling series before that I truly enjoyed.
Tokyo Revengers reminds me so much of Erased because the main character also goes back to the past to save someone special to him (aren’t all? hahaha). Aside from the saving, the main character also reminds me a little of the latter.
I personally think that the combination of gangs and time travel is pretty clever. That said, I can see how Tokyo Revengers creates a strong foundation for its own version of time travelling. It can be a bit confusing to some since time travelling is never simple, but I guess that’s the beauty of it.
I’m a bit antsy lately, so I wasn’t a big fan of anticipation that one of the key characters of this series will turn bad. Maaan, I was so noisy while watching this series lol. There’s some really annoying characters here making me mad at some point. And that ending just sealed the deal for me, hahaha. Instead of giving this one an 8, I have to reduce it to 7 because of that.
It’s pretty irrational of me, but I love my HEA hahaha. I’ll let you discover it for yourself, *wink.
Btw, there’s a lot of violence in here (especially fist fighting), so watch with caution.
Characters
Just like most shounen series, Tokyo Revengers also have a long list of characters. Seeing that this is only a 24 episode series, we’ve only got to really get acquainted well to those characters that matters most in this current season (seeing that the manga is still ongoing, I am assuming that there will be a new season coming in the future).
Takemichi
For a wannabe delinquent, he sure is a cry baby and doesn’t know how to fight. During the first few episodes, I wasn’t really interested in him. The only thing I find interesting about him is his ability to go back in the past.
But as I watch further, I’ve got to see more and understand his character a little better. He’s a crybaby and sometimes a coward, but we’ve got to see here how he tried so hard to fight the odds in order to save not just Hina but also his friends.
Hina
Since she’s not one of the main characters, we’ve only got to see a little of her, but of all those short appearances, you can really see that she’s a badass. I especially like the part where he stood up on Mikey.
Mikey
It’s not Tokyo Revengers without Mikey. Almost all Tokyo Revengers posts I’ve seen have him in it and after watching this series, I can definitely see the appeal.
Mikey is a founding member and leader of Tokyo Manji Gang. He usually looks cool with that imposing and commanding aura of his, but is pretty much carefree and loves to joke and play around.
Aside from that, what I also love about him is his devotion to his friends.
Draken
If you mention Mikey, Draken’s name is pretty much what comes next (to some the order may interchange). Despite the way he looks, he’s a very decent guy. His environment is not ideal for a child to grow up in, but despite that, he grew up a good person.
I really love seeing his interaction with his friends, especially Mikey. It just warms my heart <3
Baji
Unlike the top members of the Tokyo Maji gang, Baji doesn’t have a lot of exposure in this series. But if you talk about Tokyo Revengers, you can’t possibly talk about it without being reminded of the sacrifice he made for his friends.
He looks pretty aggressive but once you get to know his backstory, you can’t really help but feel really sad and emotional about what happened, huhuhu.

Aside from that lineup, Tokyo Revengers also have an impressive list of antagonists. Man, just thinking about them makes me hate that ending even more!
Art
As mentioned above, Tokyo Revengers’ animation and character design is pretty much the same with the 90s anime style. You can pretty much see it on their hairstyles lol. Newer anime looks amazing, but I personally love the 90s anime aesthetic.
For those who have been watching newer animes a lot lately may find this one “ugly” (I have to use the term used by a certain reviewer on MAL), but I actually think it was pretty. There might be some characters that almost look identical except for their hairstyles, but I am certainly digging the overall art.
Voice Actors
As usual, I love the original dub (Japanese), *wink. The English dub on the other hand is ok on some parts, but could be better.

I may not have liked the feeling of anticipation that one of my favorite characters may turn bad while watching this series. I still think it was a good series overall.
If you like a nice twist to your time travelling story, you may want to give Tokyo Revengers a try.
