I wasn’t expecting that I will be giving an anime series with a 10 out of 10 rating this year! I am very particular with my 10 star rating and I don’t give it up easily even to my favorite series or artist. If I’m not mistaken, I think I’ve only given my 10 star rating to 4 series (including this series) since I started watching anime a very long time ago.
Fruits Basket has been very consistent since its first season and as for its final season, they definitely provided us everything. Waaahh, just thinking about it makes me want to cry and smile at
...
the same time. It was just sooo beautiful.
OPENING & ENDING THEME + SONG
Unlike the previous season, the opening of this one is giving off the feeling that it’s really the end. Normally, I would be really sad about the finality of it, but I love the song, hahaha. And the theme is giving me that serious vibe probably because the characters look really serious and no one is giving me a smile, like nada! When I first saw it, I was like “heck, don’t tell me this series will make me cry every single episode?”, and I will be lying if I say that I wasn’t nervous for my eyes, wahahaha.
The ending on the other hand is giving me a hopeful feeling. It’s not just because of the song but also with the theme. It’s definitely a very happy one. And when I decided to search the english translation of the song, uwaaaahh, this is like the zodiac member’s song for Tohru (most especially Yuki to Tohru).
THE FINAL SEASON
Fruits Basket: The Final continues what ended in the previous season. And you know what I felt while watching the first episode? I feel so sad for Tohru and pure hatred for Akito. I have hated Akito since season 1, but after seeing what her wickedness has done to everyone, and on what extent she would do just to get what she wanted, that’s it, I’m done with her. I’m so angry that I want to erase her total existence in this series.
Sorry I started with that, hahaha, Akito is just so frustrating. In this final season, I thought the pacing of the story would be done quickly since it only has a lesser number of episodes compared to the previous 2 seasons. But nope, everything has been properly shown and all the details about the characters struggles especially about their past has been finally revealed.
I’ve been crying and fuming in anger interchangeably while watching this season. Considering that this is only 13 episodes long, a lot has happened. I know I said in my previous review that I don’t think that I’ll ever stop hating Akito, but after learning more about her life, I can now sympathise a little. I guess you could say that she has been a victim of her upbringing. But then again, that’s still not an excuse for her to do all of those horrible things to other people regardless of how she felt or experienced in life. In the end she finally realized all of her faults (thanks to Tohru), but I feel like it wasn’t enough to atone for her sins. Oh well, I don’t want to dwell more about the negative thing anymore.
As for Tohru, we finally got to see what’s truly inside her heart. She’s always been a kind soul in both season 1 and 2, and sometimes I ask myself whether she’s a human or a saint. She’s just too kind and that’s not normal, but if you look at her, it just feels just normal - that just comes naturally for her. Learning about her selfish desire makes her character more relatable now, more human, and I really love how she fights for her love. Uwaaahhh, just thinking about it makes me cry and then smile like an idiot. I just love those scenes <3
For Kyou, his relationship with Tohru’s mother is finally revealed and I feel so sorry for him, huhuhu. I just can’t imagine the guilt he must have been carrying all this time. He feels like he’s a bad person and doesn’t deserve to be loved. Then eventually Yuki stepped in to help him realise, but surprisingly, both of them finally realised things about each other. Kyou eventually faced his fears and Yuki finally expressed his true feelings.
They finally remembered the original promise and all curses are now broken. I was really crying all throughout those scenes, uwaaaah, I’m just so happy for all of them <3
And lastly, I really love how they didn’t just give us 1 episode for the happy ending, but it was more! Everyone has their own HEA and even though it was the end, this series left me with a smile on my face after that rewarding and wonderful ending.
And that my friend is how you should end a series. Highly recommended!

I don’t always give high ratings on season 2 and onwards (most especially on season 2) especially if I really enjoyed the first season. It’s mostly because the hype has gone down and obviously my excitement level will go down as well. But Fruits Basket is definitely one of those few anime series that kept me engrossed till the end.
When we talk about season 1, all I can think of is the amount of tears I’ve shed watching it, but for this 2nd season, the first thing that comes to my mind is how much I hated this particular character. I already hated her in
...
the first season, but she’s more evil incarnate in this 2nd season.
I’ll tell you more about it in my review below. That said, I can’t guarantee if I won’t be dropping some spoilers below, so read on your own risk, *wink.
Opening & Ending Theme + Song
I am loving the fun summer vibe of the first opening which is actually what the first few episodes of this season showed us. The song on the other hand is definitely not a party song, but I think fits perfectly with the theme and the series as a whole.
The 2nd opening on the other hand is lowkey giving me a hint of an impending sobbing session coming hahaha. It’s a bit mellow and the song especially on the line “you’re my home, sweet home” is already giving me the feels.
As for the ending, I absolutely love both the songs. The first ending song is very solemn so when I searched its english translation, I just loved it even more. The theme is giving me a Christmas vibe, I’m not even sure why lol, I think it was because of the lighted trees?
The 2nd ending theme on the other hand is gorgeous. I love all the illustrations! All of them would be a perfect wallpaper <3 And the song is equally beautiful. I’m not just saying that because I love Monkey Majik hahaha, I feel that the lyrics are just perfect for this series.
Story
After that teary season 1, I’m glad the first few episodes of this season let us rest our eyes, lol. The first few episodes were a light watch since it's finally their summer break so the characters are enjoying the beach until Akito cuts their fun short. What a killjoy.
The remaining episodes were a mix of funny and emotional scenes. I didn't cry as much as I did in season 1, but I really learned a lot about the other characters and laughed with them.
Also compared to season 1, there was only very little mention of Tohru's mom here particularly because most of the screen time was about the other characters aside from Kyo, Tohru and Yuki.
For me, the pacing is pretty much the same as season 1, where every character was given enough screen time for us to get to know them and also highlight their struggles for us to relate to them.
Tohru also finally learned about the soma curse and she's now determined to break it. She also finally met Kureno who is the final member of the zodiac that she hadn’t met yet.
Romance was not visible in season 1, but here in season 2, we can finally see it. Aside from the main characters, you will also be cheering with the other pairings as well. I love that each of these pairings has a unique story so I'm sure you will enjoy it.
Aside from the drama, another thing I always look forward to in Fruits Basket is its ability to make you laugh. I suppose it evens out the times that it will make you cry lol. There were some new and old characters here that were so amusing to watch.
And lastly, that ending was definitely something and if I wasn't spoiled, I would be really really surprised. Definitely a great season finale which makes the viewers get all hype up for the final season.
Characters
It's a new season so there were a few new characters introduced here. All of them were also properly introduced.
We’ve got to know a lot of characters from season 1 alone and most of them left me crying my eyes out. I thought we already knew what we needed to know, but there’s more. Season 2 gave us more about the main characters which makes me understand them more and hate Akito even more, hahaha. If you are already familiar with this series, I’m sure you already know who Akito is.
She’s bad news already on season 1, but heck. I just can’t imagine how she lives her life doing such unspeakable things to other people who she is supposed to love. I know everyone has their reasons, but I can’t honestly see any justifiable reason to hurt someone like that. She isn’t just hurting them physically but also mentally. She’s so twisted I want to get inside the story and kill her myself, ahahaha. Sorry, I just really really really hated her. I guess I endured too much not to talk about her in my review for season 1 just to avoid dropping some major spoilers. In this season, we still didn’t get to see her side of the story, but based on the other characters' backstory, I think I can understand her a little bit. But I STILL HATED HER. I don’t think I’ll ever stop.
Aside from Akito, I have been wary of Shigure too. Well, I’ve read a spoiler before so I already have an idea why he is doing what he is doing so I always keep an eye on him hahaha. It’s really hard not too since we’ve got to see that “other” side of him in season 1. I can see that he’s not that bad and most of the time I see him genuinely caring for Tohru. He is definitely a scheming bastard but I think he doesn’t want anyone to really get hurt that bad.
Yuki is still struggling but you can really see his determination to be strong and finally face his fears. He's not one of my favorite characters but I am really proud seeing him going forward.
Kyo on the other hand is also changing and he is starting to mature, but he’s still picking a fight with Yuki once in a while though hahaha. In this season, we finally got to know why he’s so hell-bent on beating Yuki and I can’t really help but feel for his character even more. Kyo is one of my favorite characters so I am really worried about what's going to happen next in the final season.
In addition, Yuki and Kyo finally accepted their true feelings and it finally cleared up a lot of things for me. I personally love watching episode 9, see for yourself why, *wink.
Aside from the main characters and the soma’s, we’ve also got to know more about the side characters. I can’t help but think that the author really gives a lot of thought to her characters because all of them reflect to most of us so it's very easy to relate to them.
Lastly, we finally got to see Kureno’s background story and I have to say that it was definitely a very good season finale. I’m just so glad I didn’t watch this season during the time it was aired because I don’t think I could stay still after that ending, hahaha.
Art
I only got little to say about this aspect because everything just looks good to me and it was consistent with the previous season. And if it looks good to me, then we’ve got nothing more to talk about, right?
Voice Actor
I watched this series in full Japanese dub and it was still beautiful as with the 1st season. I tried watching it in English dub but it just doesn’t work for me anymore. I can name some few really good English dub with my hands, but it just hits differently when it's a Japanese dub in a drama.
***
I actually had to delay watching this season - sometimes just watching 1 episode a day, or I go back to the first episode again and again - so that I could prolong it. This is what I usually do when I really love a series because I don’t want it to end, and I’m not ready to move on. The final season only has 13 episodes and that’s too short so I don’t want to finish it yet. But after that ending, I don’t think I can delay it again, hahaha.
That said, you absolutely have to try this series. And if you do, please ready a box of tissue because I’m sure it will also make you cry, *wink.

I remember how I had a lot of tears watching the first Fruits Basket anime that was aired last 2001. So when I found out that there’s a new anime reboot for Fruits Basket, I knew I had to watch it. But unfortunately, I lost track and only watched it last year, hahaha.
I am actually not planning on creating a separate review for each season, but for this anime, I knew I had to after rewatching the first season. Even after watching it a second time, it was still so emotionally beautiful.
Opening & Ending Themes + Song
I’m still watching the opening and I can already
...
feel my tears welling up. The song is just really emotional and the theme looks really good. Although I liked the 2001 Fruits Basket, I am really loving the glow-up, *wink.
The 2nd opening gave me a hopeful feeling, not just because of the theme but also the song. It was beautiful.
The 1st ending looks really relaxing with all of the zodiacs sleeping, and the song just fits perfectly. But dang! That 2nd ending took my heart. I absolutely love it especially when it was played on the last part for episode 24 while Kyou was talking, that was just perfect <3
Story
I remember the first time I watched this series, I was really impressed with the plot. I love how the creator combined slice of life, supernatural, drama, a little bit of comedy and romance together. It was perfectly blended, I can’t even remember if there were any episodes that left me disappointed or confused.
The pacing of the story for me was done pretty well – not too fast and not too slow either. I actually love that even though the main focus was Tohru, Kyo and Yuki, other characters were still given enough screen time giving us the opportunity to really get to know them. The common denominator of each character is Tohru, who for me is one of the best girls in this series. It’s just amazing how she can say the perfect words to each character, especially those that are really struggling. In return, you can’t help but get really interested in her mother – the woman who shaped Tohru into the wonderful girl that she is. Hopefully we can get to know more about her in the next season.
Overall, season 1 gave us a little bit of information about the soma clan’s curse that revolves around the Chinese zodiac. We were also introduced to most of the soma clan members that are part of the zodiac, Tohru and her friends, as well as the progress of Tohru, Kyo and Yuki’s relationship. There’s no romance yet but I can already see some hints which makes me even more excited for the 2nd season, since the 2001 Fruits Basket only ends in 1 season.
Characters
What I love about Fruits Basket is that it has a really good line-up of characters, each with their own “unique” personalities. I have to highlight the word unique because they really are, hahaha, so I am sure that they will not just make you cry but will also make you smile and laugh.
The character development here is something that I’m sure you will all love. Each character has their own screen time giving us enough time to really get to know them. This is just the first season but it felt like I know all of them that well already. Can’t wait to see what season 2 has to offer.
Art
I am absolutely digging the graphics of this one and I love the glow-up looks of the characters. I don’t think I have anything negative to say in this aspect because everything just looks pretty to me. It looks so much different from the 2001 Fruits Basket, but both of them are beautiful in their own way.
Voice Actors
I watched this season in English dub when I first watched it last year and I find some characters’ voices quite awkward, but then again, if you have no other choice, you will learn to get used to it eventually. But even if that was the case, I still shed a lot of tears watching this series.
But when I decided to watch all the episodes in this season in straight Japanese dub, ahhhh, it just hit differently. The raw emotion is too hard to handle, heck, I think I cried in each episode. It was just so emotional that thinking about it makes me teary-eyed again.
***
I haven’t read its manga counterpart yet, but I have been meaning to read it way before, I just seem to always lose track lol. That said, I can’t really be sure if the anime is good compared to the manga, but I’ve read some reviews that it follows closely to the manga. Ahhh I can’t really wait to finish the remaining 2 seasons and finally get on with the manga and compare the two.
Are you looking for a good anime that will make you cry? Look no further my dear, Fruits Basket is worth to watch, *wink.

This is just going to be a short (and not a nice one) review, hahaha, sorry. I just find this series so hard to write a review. Not because it was bad, but following this series for this long left me a bit speechless so it's pretty difficult to describe how this series made me feel.
I’ll try my hardest not to drop some major spoilers below. So read on your own risk, *wink.
Opening & Closing Themes
I’m not sure if this is only me, but there’s just something about Attack on Titan’s opening themes that really excites you. The music and the animation is just so
...
eerie that you can’t help but get excited with anticipation of what's going to happen next. And as for this final season, you wouldn't expect less from MAPPA.
The closing theme is just a simple one like in any other anime series, but you can easily tell that it's from Attack on Titan just by listening to the song alone. I don't know how to describe it, but all songs used in this series share “that” unique characteristic that its viewers can already tell that it’s from Attack on Titan.
Story
If you are already reading this review, chances are, you have already watched the previous seasons so I’m not going to elaborate on this series’ overall plot.
Attack on Titan’s final season shows us both the Paradis Island and the Marley Empire. The first few episodes really had me confused because I was expecting that it will start on Paradis Island like the previous seasons. But instead, it showed us life in the Marley Empire. One thing that really stood out for me here is the way Marleyan treats Eldians badly because of their "devil" blood. While watching these episodes, I can't really help but weigh in the reasoning behind these two countries' conflict.
New settings, means new faces, so yep, we've got to meet some new people here and see how they will affect the story.
Just like with the other seasons, this one has some pretty shocking revelations and discoveries, especially if like me, you’re not following the manga. The adrenaline is still there, the blood, and those amazing entrances will not fail to still make you get super excited.
Same as the previous season, the final season is also divided into 2 parts. I believe the 2nd part will be airing next year. But after that cliffhanger ending, I’m pretty sure a lot of viewers have read the manga now. I’ve been seeing some spoilers accidentally in my facebook feed, so I might give in and start reading the manga too once I get available,*wink.
Characters
Now that we are already in its final season, all the main and supporting characters have really grown (except for Levi though, wahahaha).
Eren on the other hand looks really grim. All throughout his introduction, all I could ask myself is “Where’s that annoying Eren that I know?”. It's been so long since I’ve watched the previous season so the change in Eren’s characters (especially physical) comes as a surprise to me. I remember when the trailer of this season was first dropped, anime fans were really ecstatic.
I was spoiled before I watched this series so it's hard to describe Eren’s sudden change of plan. It’s like meeting the old Lelouch lol.
The sudden death of one of the most liked characters in AoT really really had me worried. I got spoiled again on this one, so I was really eager to know how that happened. So yep, imagine my surprise on who did it. Grrr.
There’s this one character that I really really really as in super duper hate. She’s only just a kid, but the amount of hate you could feel from her is greater than any hateful characters you could think of. Her hypocrisy is so appalling that it even contradicts her iconic line “But did you see it happen?”. Urghh, just thinking about her makes me seething in anger.
Art
I’m really no expert on this one, wahahaha. But overall, I think it was pretty good. I actually like the grave facial expressions of the characters whenever there’s a problem or they get eaten by a titan.
Voice Actor
I've been watching this series in both English and Japanese interchangeably since season 1, and I guess you could say that it's now hard for me to say if it's bad at this point, hahaha.
Eventhough I prefer the Japanese dub (we always do), I still think that the English dub was done well. Although even already at the final season, I still can't warm up with Eren's English VA. I'm not sure if it's just me, I just think that his voice doesn't fit well on his character. Other than that, no complaints from me, *wink.
***
After that ending, I can't wait to see part 2. Although I’m sure I’m not the only one, *wink.

Please be warned, I may drop a spoiler or two below, *wink.
One thing I love about this story is the plot. Most, or should I say, ALL of the yaoi I’ve read and watched before don’t have any fantasy or supernatural elements to them, so when I found out about the soul transferring thing in this story, THAT totally got my attention. Well, to be honest, I don’t think I’ve read or watched any yaoi before that I really really hate. I’m not usually picky in this genre, so I guess that might be the reason? Wahahaha.
If you’re not a fan of this “soul transferring”
...
thing, I guarantee that that’s the only supernatural element in this story. Other than that, the rest of the story was narrated in a normal setting and we’re finally seeing the romance, ayeiii! I genuinely love the romance, others might think that it was too fast how the main lead was able to believe that it was him, but considering the number of chapters this webtoon has, I don’t feel it was done in a haste. And besides, if you will see the chapter on how much the guy loves the other guy (sorry, I am really bad with names wahahaha), you will think that it was pretty normal. Anyone who’s that hopelessly in love will believe anything.
The art is kind of different for me, but along the way, I find both characters really hot wahahaha. I’m really so petty so please bear with me, hahaha. I don’t think I have something I hate about the illustration though, so I think that’s the only thing I can say on this one, hehehe, sorry.
I know there were some yaoi out there that are very graphic, so I already readied myself before I started this story. But surprisingly, this one is very wholesome (although there were some scenes that I wish to see more, wahahaha, sorry I’m afraid I’m getting more perverted everyday hahaha). There were definitely some kissing, but that’s just that, *wink.
As for the characters, I actually like both the main characters. I don’t think there were times that I really hated them hahaha. I just adore how the guy, aw heck, this is really confusing not to mention the name hahaha. So let me rephrase, hahaha. I really adore how Han Siwok (thanks google for reminding me the name, hahaha) loves Yoon Taemin, that he will do anything just for him. Most yaoi leads has this overprotective quality in them to the point that it’s suffocating, but in this one, Han Siwok is overprotective, but its not annoying in this story because for a change, the other guy, Yoon Taemin, is a fighter so he knows how to defend himself.
As for the side characters, heck, there’s this 1 character here that I really want to boil alive hahaha. I love twins, but reading this one story makes me rethink why I love twins hahaha. Seeing my reaction above, I think it’s enough to say that the side characters were able to portray their roles well eh? I usually hate stories with these kinds of characters, but surprisingly, I still ended up liking this story as a whole, *wink.
I have to mention this at the end because I think this is one of the most important aspects in this story. Aside from the romance, this story has some really dark topics that may be a bit disturbing to some. It involves bullying and rape. So if this is something that you’re not comfortable with, I don’t think this story is for you.
The story is really good, but I have to retract 1 star because I think there’s still some few points in this story that should be explained more. One example would be the “soul transferring” thing. And also about Han Siwok’s family. I think that one is a good thing to start with if ever the author will make a book 2 for this one.
So if you are a yaoi reader and a brave one, you may want to check out At the End of the Road by Haribo. Have fun reading!

When I first heard about this anime, I was really ecstatic. Inuyasha is one of my favorite manga/anime so imagine how happy I was when I heard of Inuyasha and Sesshomaru having their own kids in a new anime series!
Opening & Ending Themes + Songs
Edited by: Blushing Geek, scenes from Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon c/o Sunrise
The opening theme and the song fueled my already excited blood. The opening theme style reminds me so much of Inuyasha. The “bright” animation is just what I like considering this series is all about demons lol. This series is made by the same studio as Inuyasha, so I shouldn’t be
...
surprise by that, *wink.
The first opening is giving me that “chill” vibe about this anime, which is really understandable since we are starting a new series. But the second opening is giving me an “action packed” vibe, which it definitely delivered, *wink.
I also like how simple the ending themes are, and the songs fit perfectly. And speaking of songs, I absolutely love all 4 of them (2 each for opening & ending), they’re just perfect for this series!
Plot
Edited by: Blushing Geek, scenes from Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon c/o Sunrise
It was really a great treat that this series started the first episode with Inuyasha and the gang. That part almost left me in tears, waaaah, I just miss them so much <3
Sorry, I had to start it with that because I was just so happy seeing the gang in a new series. Don’t get me wrong, Yashahime is definitely not about them but with the next generation. There were some flashbacks about our old gangs once in a while which are really nostalgic to watch.
After showing a bit of the old gangs, at the start, the pace starts a bit fast on how things are dealt with easily, then introduces the 3 heroines and the story develops on that. No complaints for me, since that’s pretty much what I like, *wink.
I’ve read some reviews saying that the twins have more screen time than Moroha and they think it was unfair. But then again, before this series was aired, it was mentioned that it is about Sesshoumaru’s daughters’ story. Moroha is one of the main characters, but this is not her show. It’s just like with the Inuyasha series, there were 5 main characters, but it was Inuyasha (and Kagome’s) story.
There’s some room for improvement, but I really like this start of the series so far. And before I forgot, I actually like the main bad guy in this show. It’s pretty much hard to hate him honestly. Let’s just see what will happen in the next season. I’ve got a feeling that it’s going to be really intense.
And lastly, I don’t think you are required to watch the Inuyasha series before watching this one, because the story is pretty much understandable. (Although, as a fan, I wouldn’t recommend not to watch Inuyasha. It’s pretty long, but it’s worth it, *wink)
Characters
Edited by: Blushing Geek, scenes from Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon c/o Sunrise
I absolutely love the design of the main characters. But I would be lying if I wasn’t expecting Sesshomaru and Rin’s twins to have adorable dog ears like Inuyasha since they are half-demons. But then again, with or without dog ears, they are still cute anyway, *wink.
Moroha is a badass as Kagome but with a troublemaker streak like his father, hahaha. The three of them together are very enjoyable to watch since they all have their own sets of characteristics that I’m sure you will enjoy following.
It was also nice seeing some of the characters from the Inuyasha series. I was right when I said that Kaede will live another more years with the way she’s going, wahahaha.
Art
Edited by: Blushing Geek, scenes from Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon c/o Sunrise
The art as well as the sound effects is pretty much the same with the Inuyasha series, and I definitely love that! However, the very first thing that really bothered me a little when I first saw the Inuyasha gang were their ears. It just looks different, quite bigger than before lol. But other than that, everything looks so good.
Voice Actors
Edited by: Blushing Geek, scenes from Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon c/o Sunrise
I watched this one in an English dub, and it took me quite a while to really get used to it lol. The voice actors for the Inuyasha gang were different so it was a bit hard for me to feel the character at first. It’s a good thing that the voice actor for Inuyasha (which is one of my favorite english VA) is still the same, weew. But the VA for the main leads (half-demon princesses) were really good, I actually liked Towa’s. Of all the three, I think hers has the most fitting VA for her character.
I also rewatched a few episodes (the one with most action scenes) in the original Japanese dub and it was great to know that the VA is still the same for the Inuyasha gang except for Miroku’s character.
***
As a big Inuyasha fan, I have to say that Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon is a fun watch.
You may read a lot of hate about this series, but I suppose that’s pretty much normal with a new generation series. If you enjoy Inuyasha so much, then you should give this series a chance.
On my end, I pretty much enjoy watching the 3 heroines on their adventure together. It makes me imagine Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha hanging out together, without killing each other, wahahaha.

I discovered this anime accidentally on facebook, and I really think it was hilarious. And obviously, I am open to the possibility of watching this series. So imagine my surprise that I will be watching it sooner than expected, wahahaha.
I’ve been interested in reincarnation and isekai lately, so when I read the summary of this one, I decided to give it a try and see if I will like the first episode enough to finish the whole season since it’s only 13 episodes long. And as you can see, I did, *wink.
Just like my other reviews, I am going to break up my thoughts through
...
the following points:

OPENING & ENDING THEMES + SONGS
I absolutely love the opening scene, there’s just something about the main lead sitting in a throne that excites you, ya know? hahaha.
I’m actually not very picky in this aspect of the anime. Opening and ending themes only get my full attention if the art is really cute or very beautiful, OR if the song is very catchy. And as for this one, I think it got my attention not on the 2 points I’ve pointed above, but because of the story it is trying to tell. Well, almost all openings are like that, so why is this one different? I actually don’t know either, hehehe sorry. The song is not bad either, and I think it suits the opening.
Usually, the ending theme is not as grand as the opening, and as for this one, it’s simple but I love the added sitting on the throne scene hahaha. So you could say it’s matchy-matchy with its opening lol. The song is good also, which is a bit mellow for my taste.
STORY
This is a story of Demon King Anos Voldigoad, who was reincarnated after 2,000 years only to find out that the demonkind remembers him differently. His personality, his deeds, and even his legacy are all falsified—masked beneath the name of an impostor. This “lack” of common knowledge renders him the academy’s outlier—a misfit never before seen in history.
When you see the first episode, I’m sure some of you may find it ridiculous or hilarious. Just thinking about it still makes me laugh, hahaha, really. But don’t get me wrong, I am laughing but not in a bad way, hahaha. It’s just kind of funny seeing a newly born baby turned into a grown man after just a month, like literally! But I think it wasn’t just because of that, I also find the reaction of his parents amusing, hahaha.
Seeing that the main character, Anos, is the real demon king, he is exponentially strong. So I thought this is going to be boring because there’s no challenge at all, but it was still surprisingly exciting seeing his adventure as he sets out to uncover the person behind the alteration of his glorious past.
It wasn’t as intense as the other mainstream shounen anime out there, but this anime isn’t that bad at all. I actually think some action scenes were cool, until I am on the singing part. Wahahaha, sorry, the singing wasn’t bad, but I just didn’t expect a singing aspect to be added to the battle scene. It was awkward for me, but I got used to it eventually.
Plus, I absolutely love the ending. I love that it didn’t just give us a good ending in the battlefield, but they also showed us Anos’ parents meeting his supposed “3rd wife”, wahahaha.
If you are planning to try this anime, be sure to look out for his parents, they are very entertaining, hahaha.
CHARACTERS
The main character is surprisingly likeable. Seeing that he’s the demon king, he was surprisingly nice. He is strong, but he doesn’t flaunt it in an annoying way and he respects the strengths of everyone. I’m just a bit distracted with his name though, hahaha. Sorry, I’m really such a pervert lol.
As for the side characters, I don’t think I have someone here that I detest. There may be some characters that hate Anos because they don’t believe him whenever he says that he’s the reincarnation of their demon king, but that isn’t enough to hate them. He has some really capable team members so the revelation of the other character really surprised me.
Aside from the main character, the screen time of his parents is one of my favorites. They just lighten the mood <3
And lastly, it’s just kinda hard to differentiate the demon between the humans because they all look the same hahaha. Or maybe I’m just missing something?
ANIMATION + ART
As usual, I don’t have any complaints here hahaha. I’m not very particular in this aspect of anime since I’m no expert, just as long as it looks good and the story is great, then you won’t hear me complaining,*wink.
VOICE ACTORS
I only watched this series in an English dub, so I can’t really differentiate. The voice of some characters could take time to get used to, but overall, I think it wasn’t that bad. I still enjoyed it right? *wink.
***
The Misfit of Demon King Academy isn’t as grand as the other anime out there, but I have to say that this is one of the good new anime out there. If you want action but don’t want something heavy, then this one is definitely a great choice.
Have fun watching!

STORY
I love action but I’m not really into the military or war. My idea of action includes magic and flying. But surprisingly, this one has those two but in a military setting. Sounds intriguing right? And it doesn’t just end at that. This anime also has reincarnation wherein the main character was transported into an alternate world after insulting “God”.
To be honest, I actually find the combination quite interesting. However, watching the first episode didn’t really give me the impression that I will love this series as a whole. It was probably because the main character is in the body of a little girl. I’m
...
not particularly into anime with loli characters, so it was kind of cringy at first. But in all fairness, it gets better as I watch further. Well, its evident on my 8 out of 10 rating above, *wink.
OPENING & CLOSING + SONGS
I’m not sure if it's just me, but I find the opening scene really dark. Well, it's to be expected since it's a military anime with lots of war scenes being presented. I don’t particularly hate it, but after seeing those characters flying while holding their rifles, ok, I guess I like it a little, hahaha I’m so easy. The closing on the other hand is simple but the art is really beautiful.
I believe both the opening and closing songs fit this series. When I first heard the opening song, it reminded me so much of those really catchy songs from the anime Overlord. And then I found out that it’s the same singer. No wonder!
CHARACTERS
Thinking back, other than Tanya (main lead), I think there’s no other character that stood out for me or I find interesting. So I guess let’s just talk about her ok? Hahaha.
My first impression of Tanya is that she’s definitely a devil incarnate inside a little girl’s body, which I think explains the title, lol. She works in efficiency which explains why at such a young age she’s now commanding people in the battlefield. For this kind of character, I think there’s nothing to hate since that’s basically her sole existence in this series.
VOICE ACTORS
I only watched this series on an English dub so I can’t speak much about the Japanese counterpart. But I’m pretty sure it’s amazing as always, *wink.
For this one, it sure took me quite a while to settle (which is pretty normal on an English dub). I can’t say it was awful since there’s some that suits really well in the character they are portraying. I’m usually not very picky in this department unless the anime is really bad lol. So I guess that’s just it hahaha.
CONCLUSION
You may have noticed that I didn’t add a section for animation here hahaha. Sorry about that. Just like with the voice actors, I’m not really very picky (but once in a blue moon, I do hahaha) when it comes to this as well, so just as long as the story is good, then it’s fine with me.
Despite not being a fan of a military setting anime, I sure enjoyed this series as a whole. I heard there’s season 2 coming, so I’ll definitely be looking forward to it.
Are you a fan of this genre? Then Tanya the Evil might be something you will enjoy as well.

This anime was actually my first apocalyptic story that was based on a natural disaster. After experiencing a really strong earthquake last 2013 in my hometown, I’ve become really scared of it. That even a very weak shake of the ground makes my heart pound so hard, and watching this anime reminds me so much of what happened last 2013.
This anime has a low rating on MAL so I wasn’t really positive that I could get past the 1st episode, but look at me now, I finished it hahahaha. Well, let me tell you more about this anime on the following points below.
Animation
The animation and
...
character design of this anime is not that good. I don’t really like to say it like that, but that’s just how it is. I am not a big fan of the animation and some character designs make me cringe. I’m usually pretty lenient when it comes to this part, but I have to make this clear to you guys so that you will not expect more of it when you decide to watch this series.
I may not have been a big fan of the animation and the character design but there were some parts where the landscape looks really good.
Story
I always love a good story with my books and anime, and this one gave me an intense feeling as early as its first episode. And it also didn’t help that we’ve got to see a really heartwarming family story in this one, although it was more on the tragic side. So for those of you that aren’t a big fan of it, then this one may not be a good fit for you.
I guess you could say that the main reason why I decided to finish this story was because I was pulled through by the story. I love seeing how each character pushed through life and continued (even though there were times that some of them almost gave up) and then eventually survived. I don’t want to spoil you but I don’t think I can finish this review without mentioning the part that really really left a big impression on me. That was on the part where their father died. Man, that was really unexpected and at such an early episode. Huhuhu.
Characters
I don’t think there’s a character that I really hate in this anime, although in the early episodes I almost want to choke Ayumu, lol. It also comes as a surprise that the mother is a Filipino, that was really unexpected but definitely a good addition for me.
Voice Actors
I only watched this anime on English dub so I can’t really say much on the sub. I don’t think I remember hating the VA while watching this anime though, I think it was because all of my attention was on that not-so-eye-catchy animation.
Final Words
I think this anime, Japan Sinks: 2020 is a perfect representation on how a country and its people can get up even after experiencing such a tragic disaster. It brings hope to me, so I hope it will to you as well.

Story
If you search about this anime online, you will instantly guess that this is about skateboarding. And me without any sports blood at all, I wasn’t really after the thrill of skating but I got really intrigued with the characters. I’ve been seeing this anime all over facebook and seeing how fans are pairing some characters together, I knew I have to watch it myself, hahaha. And tada!
I actually enjoyed it much to my expectations. I liked how the two main characters first met and then instantly became bffs. I don’t think it was abrupt at all and I also think that the pacing of
...
the story was really good. The thing I enjoyed about sports anime is their camaraderie and sportsmanship. But for this anime, aside from the thrill every time Langa skates, another thing I love about this one is their friendship. And it wasn’t all just about the good things but also the bad, which I think was pretty realistic.
Opening and Closing + Songs
I absolutely love both the opening and closing scenes. The opening is so cute at the beginning but becomes really catchy and cool as you proceed, plus I believe that that song is just perfect for it.
The ending on the other hand is simple compared to the opening, but it's still very cute. And I’m so in love with the song as well.
I definitely have to create a lyric video of these two songs soon.
Characters
I actually like the character design. Each character doesn't just have a diverse selection when it comes to their personality but I also think that their design suits them well too. And speaking of characters, I really think that Cherry looks so pretty in his skating attire and Miya is super cute too. I also love Langa's appearance as well. It's just a perfect look for his mild personality.
And speaking of characteristics, I genuinely like the main characters in this story. I love how enthusiastic Reki is and how much he loves skateboarding.
Langa on the other hand is the opposite of Reki. Langa was a transfer student from Canada, he and his mother came back to Japan after his father died. Langa is not always cheerful and sometimes just keeps to himself. But his life changed after being friends with Reki and then learned to love skateboarding.
The side characters too were very likeable and fun to watch. And not just that, they all look eye catchy too. No wonder why a lot of viewers love them.
The only character that I wasn't fond of at all is Adam. I just think that he's very creepy and weird. Even after watching a bit of his backstory, I still think he's a total creep, lol.
Voice Actors
As usual, the Japanese dub for this one is really good and I think they all suit so well with the characters.
I actually watched the first episode in an English dub and I thought it was pretty good too and the VA for Adam is pretty accurate. It's almost hard to hate his character, lol.
Conclusion
I’m sure most of you found this anime on a yaoi recommendation or yaoi group online (particularly in fb), but let me tell you this hahaha. Seeing that this anime is more on sports, you can’t definitely see some characters kissing or being lovey-dovey, but. Yes, there’s a but hahaha. If you’re a fujoshi, you can definitely see some parts in here that you can’t help but squeal in delight. I can’t elaborate more on this, but if you finally decide to try this anime, always look out for Langa, Reki, Cherry and Joe, *wink.
***
If you’re looking to watch something light but with a very lovely animation and bright design, you’ll definitely be in for a treat with SK8 the Infinity.
