You're right, I just want to remove this attitude, this over thinking of things. And I like your example, the friend of your friend. It's like you accept her as your friend's friend, but not your friend, still you want to have a calm relationship with her because she's your friend's friend and you don't have any reason to hate her.

I'll send you something later or soon on your mail.

Unfortunately, I still don't have my blog, I'm really not that sure though to make one.
taffydmonkey Apr 5, 2016 2:42 AM
You know what, you're right, this is also what people always say about me, (non verbatim, but it is like this) "Stop thinking on what other people might say, it is your own opinion. They have a right to say things on their own on you have also rights to say what you want." The truth is, I am practising the attitude of not caring what people might say, I had already accepted that things will not come according to my plans, that is why I am not afraid any more to say the things I don't like. But when I try to do that (I mean in reality) people often say that I am insensitive, that's why I'm still practising because I still don't know the degree of when and when not people are getting hurt. And this might also be the reason why I don't like to rate and such because I'm still thinking that I might offend others.

And right now I am reviewing things, but only in MAL. I just want to say what I want and, in fact, the things you've written here actually really help. I might as well rate them. I am nervous (cross fingers!) I'm still hesitant to make my own blog, that's why I'll just review here first in MAL. I remember when I had a blog, at first I was addicted to it till I was never writing the things I wanted. I have a syndrome of liking things first till I maximized them, and when the time I am able to find a new attraction, I'll just leave the things I always do before, hanging. That's why I don't want to make any blog while I'm still like this, I really want to take care and treasure the things that I want and this is why I'm stuck in my room because I'm curing myself. I feel like I've wasted so many years in my life not doing the things that I want, thus I refrain myself from going out doing nonsensical things. I only go out when I'm with my important friends (it's you and others ssshhhhhh.) This feels like a confession and afar from the topic, but really, your tips and motivation help me a lot. I think it's time for me to rate things.

This will be my third time commenting on this part because my computer keeps on hanging and the things I want to say were all deleted again. Argggghhhhhh!!!

Maybe it's the reason why I like (we both) like ISWAK because the lovestory here seemed appealing. And I think what makes a shoujo difficult for me to finish, it's because it was not funny (I mean some lacks entertainment, and most have shown only us to twitter pat.) But there are times that when a shoujo, I mean the MC is mysterious this keeps me going in the story. And you're right, I also do the same things about diversity and should not only stick into one genre. In this way I can the differences of the stories and to keep myself from prejudicial thought, like if it's shoujo you know the outcome already. It's not like that at all. Aside from those three, please try to read Orange. It's highly recommended.

I think the most difficult part of writing a story is when to make the readers catch their attention. And of course I understand that each and every writer has their own style of writing and I also believe that they also worry about this since writing comprises of entertainment, and the best way to release an entertainment is to keep the mystery going. And this could be the reason why I keep on dropping my stories because I can't feel the thrill in them. And I really want to acknowledge what you have written here, I really want to write something where readers will make them think that they already know the story and BOOM, the twist has come. Thank you thank you. I will keep these in mind.

Do you like it? I like the story, and since I felt that some of my interests are the same as you, I tried to keep my embarrassment and tell you to try read it. This is the time when I'm feeling of writing a story about exchanging your life for money and then while I'm making my own plot, a sudden turn comes to my mind that this kind of plot must have been already in the mangas so I searched for it and I was right. So I am planning to drop my story or make some changes.

I have a problem when it comes to Shoujo or love story, I easily get bored, but when I read Hiren Trip, Ore Monogatari and Horimiya, they are kind of interesting. Try it.

Yeah, it's not that I think the same way as him, but he was really right, it's just that he enlightens me more of the reason I have, it's just I have a different way of rating things, do you know the feeling that "What is beautiful to you may not be as beautiful to others?" Because we all have different tastes, and no matter how I say that something or someone is a masterpiece, it may be just a piece of trash to others. And I respect their opinions.

And the truth is I am planning to make my own blog to review (this was supposed to happen last year) the animes and mangas (if possible the books I'd read, and also, films,) since I am not just watching them but I really love anime and manga so I told myself why not review them. And then I learned from you and xtine that you both have MAL so I wondered why not make mine too? Not only for my list, but a guide to my review? I am planning to review some of the mangas I'd read, but the problem lies when the manga is still on-going so it will be difficult for me if I will be reviewing. Since reviewing needs an ending (so I need some points.) Nonetheless, I am really hoping to review most of the mangas and animes I've watched/read.

I know you are reviewing and I am visiting your blog, could you give me some tips on how reviewing things might be interesting for others to read? Since your blog is interesting.
taffydmonkey Mar 28, 2016 11:19 AM
I'm not yet done editing my list, and I saw that you've read some mangas I'd read before (like Koe no katachi and such) gosh I love that manga!!! Did you read Aku no Higan, as what we talked about last night?
taffydmonkey Mar 28, 2016 11:14 AM
I don't have plans to rate them (although I have favorites.) Also, I remember the story you told me and your friend was right in many ways @_@ I'll visit your account.

I used to do that before (not dropping stuff), but now I just don't really care enough to finish some stuff I don't enjoy. With visual novels it's even worse because they're huge time investments, so I always drop them early if I don't see anything there, and nowadays I do the same with anime. But it depends on many things, really.

Yeah, 4 out of my top 10 anime are by Madhouse. They really hold the monopoly for the best modern anime, I always look at the studio and director before watching an anime because it can tell you a lot about the execution, and whether or not it's worth it to go through a slow start, etc.

I hope you enjoy Monster! While it has a slow start, it's easy to enjoy because the mystery is very well built, and the characters feel very human. So if you like it right from the bat, after you reach episode 40 (which is when the masterpiece begins and it lasts until the last episode) you will probably worship it haha.

"So when you encounter something that interests you but your friends don’t like it or they’re insulting it, you’re not gonna watch it anymore? or you will still watch it to understand where your friends are coming from?"

That will depend on the several factors, including the episode count, how much I trust that friend's taste, if it's something I want to finish at all costs, etc. For instance, Serial Experiments Lain. I knew I would probably hate it after 2 episodes, but it was something I had to finish because... well I just had to haha, but I did hate it in the end, I barely liked anything about it, and it was a disappointment since a lot of build-up was thrown out of the window. If it's something like, say, Akame ga Kill, at the time a lot of people told me it would get amazing, though I gave up on that idea by ep 18-19, ended up completing the anime for completion sake though. Other times I just give up despite being told it gets amazing, like in Twelve Kingdoms, because I just don't see it happening for me. So there are a number of factors involved. The time I have available and if I'm watching something better or not also counts.

"Ohhhhh~ so Monster is also by Madhouse! I’m gonna watch it now."

Yeah Madhouse is my favorite anime studio. I swear everything they touch becomes GOLD. And they can adapt to s many different styles, it's amazing.

Hey! Thanks for the friend request!
Diogo_Brando Mar 8, 2016 7:38 PM
OR I can slowly work on them and convert them to my taste too! That also works :D

Oh yeah, when I go into an anime that takes itself seriously, I always go into it with the possibility of it making my top lists in mind. That's what allows me to enjoy stuff more too. If you go in with a negative mindset, you'll probably hate it, but with a positive mindset, it manages to work out in the end. But yeah, my top lists are kinda volatile unfortunately, so I regularly mess with them.
Diogo_Brando Mar 8, 2016 7:11 PM
For most people they probably won't have a change of heart, but yeah it's a great anime if you like slow burners, shows that take their time building up but then become amazing if you give them time.

Yeah, which is why I mostly stay silent in forums, I just lurk :)
