While I haven't read too far into the novels, it's pretty good so far, and expand upon more of what's seen in the anime. If you were disappointed with Index III, I was told that the novels fix that. Index III was heavily rushed and condensed, hence why it turned out the way it did.
Do you have a favorite character in the series?

What are your thoughts on RWBY?

Nice to see Berserk and Toaru on your lists! Any plans to read the Toaru light novels?

I said Tem - when I meant Pina, of course. I've corrected it now. It was half an error, and half a test for the true fans out there ;)

Yeah, it was a really compelling and fascinating series. The drama was really great, and I enjoyed the on-stage dramatics - especially the simmering tension between Bill and Legoshi.

I've gone for a color coordination/match-up between the posters of my fave characters, fave series, and fave studios (all opposite to each other vertically). I wonder if many users notice things like that!

Glad to see you gave Beastars season 2 a 10. I preferred the 2nd season (by a whisker over the first), myself. The insights into Riz's mentality/inner thought processes was interesting, and it was enjoyable/a thrill to see Legoshi playing detective and getting closer to uncovering the perpetrator. The stuff with Pina was amusing and heightened the tension - like the bathroom scene between him and Riz, where he made a thinly veiled allusion that he knew the truth (he was hiding). The art/animation and OST were top-drawer, and the voice acting in American English and Japanese were about equal for me, and like an acting masterclass. Anime doesn't get any better! I only put the first season in my top 10 because I prefer the poster, and think it's more of an iconic representation of the series as a whole, than the poster for the sequel. Lol.

Absolutely agree. There used to be a time when people were not that political or people respected each other views. Right now, people are either far left or far right, hardly anyone is in between. Everyone is busy cancelling each other. No room for conversation. Like you said, over time I have realized, it's better to stay anonymous and talk to stranger only, if you are discussing anything political. I have seen many relationships getting effected IRL for difference in political views. So these days I prefer not to state anything political IRL, or at least state when I know the other guy have the same views as mine. Especially after, Russia-Ukraine war, things have been messy around the world.

Truth to be told, it's my 2nd reddit account. I started using Reddit for the reasons you mentioned. Then later on I became super political, realized each community is a echo chamber (except for some subs who help you in different things). It became super censored in 2020-2021. Later I got banned for a slur in a Political argument. So prolly reddit has detected my IP and has censored me (and not outright ban me, at least that's what I think) (or I have messed up some privacy settings IDK). I am mostly active on Twitter these days. Thank you Elon.

Same. Though FYI, I am not that much active on MAL, I come here just to track my stuff. I made that post here cuz, I couldn't post it in reddit, cuz some reason, my posts and comments on reddit aren't showing up If log in through a different account. Though you can DM me, I would reply.

And what can be more super than the feeling you get from writing on MAL regularly ;)

I'm not well-versed in the romance genre either (and I'm wary of things that seem too syrupy) but there have been a few that have hit the mark, with lovable characters and a sense of realism to them. And sometimes it is nice to take a break from fighting, and good versus evil, and people trying to save the world. Some of my faves have been rom-coms like High Score Girl (great Johnny Yong performance), and I really enjoyed a recent rewatch of My Dress-Up Darling - the magical girls (Madoka/Prisma Illya-esq) parody stuff was just hilarious. I know I've mentioned this before, but The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague is a charming, relaxing, slice of life, rom-com, that's WAY underrated on MAL. That's my pro-weeb's top rec ;)

I've not watched regularly telly for several years but I remember Home Alone being on all the time during the Christmas holidays. And Die Hard movies, and anything with Schwarzenegger or Stallone in them. Those kind of movies and Cadbury or Nestle chocolate selection boxes are what I remember most vividly of Christmas's past. Watching the Stallone movie Cliffhanger and munching on a Crunchie, happy in the knowledge you'd gotten the Super Nintendo you wanted - that was the pinnacle Christmas experience for me! And I only got to realize that dream 2 years ago. Hahahahaha! :)

I understand that some people like to stick to traditional ways milky Earl Grey tea, scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream, and cucumber sandwiches - but green tea is relaxing, good for health, and is also an aphrodisiac try not to get too excited. Maybe that's why I added the super prefix in my username ;)

Actually, I've just noticed that you have Toradora in your top 10. I don't know why I never noticed or registered that before. Overall, it was funny, relaxing, and easy to get into - and even for someone like me who's not big into romantic drama, usually. I think I'd put it in my top 5 romantic series, along with High Score Girl, My Dress-Up Darling, and Kaguya-sama. And it's 15 years old now, and is kind of like a portal back in time back to that era. At times it can seem old fashioned (in some of its writing, humor, and visual presentation) compared to trendy, slick series like Kaguya and Dress-Up Darling, but it's still charming and lovable in its own way. And Taiga is the perfect embodiment of the tsundere type of personality. Also, the English dub was top-tier with our old fave Johnny Yong as Kitamura, as well as Casandra Morris as Taiga, and Christine Cabanos as Kushieda. I think it well deserved the 8/10 I gave it. Why do you like it so much/why is it in your top 10?
