Afraid? Really? I'm a mod on a much larger forum than MAL, and users frequently tell me to fuck off in all sorts of creative and interesting ways. And not only is getting banned a far more real concern there, but there are also neat/unique benefits from membership.
And yet here, where being banned isn't much of a loss, users are afraid of merely disagreeing? You know more about the forum than me, but that sounds really funny/unbelievable.
But yeah, it seems "animedreamer" had his/her feelings hurt. Personally, I don't understand how it's possible to progress as a writer or reporter without criticism, but perhaps that wasn't his/her intention to begin with.

Heh, I hope it didn't come across that way. That was my "constructive, helpful" side.
It would actually be great if there were people who wrote really informative articles about the manga industry. Of course, doing so requires personal contacts and a lot of work, so it's certainly not easy.
By the way, where did you find a translated copy of Mudazumo Naki Kaikaku? It looks damn interesting, but I can't seem to find it at the normal places.
