About the transcription, the thing is that "Kyan" would be written in Latin as "Kiyan" (because き is read as ki, not just k), but as I assumed, since it is a proper name, there was a simplification, so it is correct to write Kyan, not Kiyan.

TBH, the time they were serious was probably the only time I actually got annoyed at them, actually, since I got so used to the silly antics that I didn't think they'd change that, but then again gen 5 did change a lot of things, in lots of places..>:I> That said, I probably like them more because of some nostalgia factor, lol~x'D> Also, I enjoy the silly villain antics they get too, my favorites being the skits in gen 7 where it always ends with Bewear snatching them away, haha~!XD

The only thing I could think of is that people were mad that Crystal wasn't the female mc in the remakes though that is largely brushed over nowadays with people saying how HGSS was the best remake of all times. I agree, none of the female characters in Pokémon yet were actually detestable, even Cassidy and Jessie from Team Rocket were lovable characters due mainly to their charisma and hilarious natures as antagonists.
