Kouji Kumeta (久米田康治 Kumeta Kōji, born on September 5, 1967 in Yokosuka, Kanagawa), is a Japanese gag manga artist. His most famous works are Go!! Southern Ice Hockey Club, Katte ni Kaizou and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. His other major works include √P Root Paradise, Sodatte Darling!! and The Sun's Soldier Poka Poka.

@KingGidora if you ever read through his work then you must have noticed yourself that his nationalism can be a bit problematic sometimes (especially when it comes to countries that...you know...aren't Japan), all the anime adaptations toned this aspect of him down (it's most noticeable in Joshiraku anyway).

Nationalism? He's pretty critic about Japan if you ask me, he has a strong Japanese identity though if that's what you mean.

Not everyone in this should have the standard international (occidental/american) attitude to be good, mister neo-imperialist.

National identity is fundamental for people to rely on.

It should be "they", Kouji Kumeta consists TWO people. Get your facts right.
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei has two mangakas, but anyway I LOVE their work too!!! <3<3
