That after is quite lovely, usually I would be all for yuri shipping, but just not seeing that for Higurashi, but on Umineko, definitly for Lamba x Bern.

Hello There! Randomly Passing By!

Playcool Oct 25, 2021 1:57 AM
2- LOL, well not like I don't understand you, I m playing the Utawarerumono Trilogy, currently on the second game, and I did not pay for any of them, YET, and I don't plan to pay for the first one, since it was not that good, but the second I m enjoying way more, so definitely paying for Utawa 2 and 3 on steam, but waiting for a sale for that.
Utawa 1 had some instability problems the first couple of hours I booted the game, it would close soon, if I wanted to see the settings, I would need to load the game ASAP and then check them in game, and considering I was constantly switching from playing on a desktop and laptop daily, I did it a lot, after the 10h mark, stopped happening.
You did not lose any saved data, so what happened to you is no reason not to keep playing, unless the problem keep happening nonstop.

I enjoyed Gou, if you go without expectations, but it is some stuff I initially was not a fan of. Have yet to watch Sotsu.
You can talk, but I m not too into it right now, so there is not that much I would address, outside featherine, but again, I still need to play Umineko episode 8.

3- I see, but then again, I do feel a bit more impact could have been added, you know, better camera angles, making it more visceral with the sounds would have worked too, the punches lacked impact, again my model for how to approach this fight well is Gurren Laggan very last battle, which in movie form is even better.

Not feeling like giving the trilogy and overall score, they were released alone after all.
I just wished that Yuki Kaijura song that goes almost into opera and has versions across the 3 movies last longer in those highs, because it is definitely my favorite.

Utawarerumono Trilogy might make you shallow on that, since I heard the last one is god tier, and the second one already improved lot from the first in overall enjoyment, and it is still going to get better.

And again, the last 2 games came in 2015-2016, so they are fairly recent, you never know when a new epic VN will drop, and Murasamusa just got translated in August...
You also have Fata Morgana which keeps hearing great things about and has a dope OST.

Saber vs Rider definitely got an upgrade vs the VN and is surely my favorite from the trilogy, but Spring Song also had some other cool ones, for one, I really liked the initial fight, if you could call it that (Shirou facing Dark Sakura for the first time), and Kotomine's was also better than I expected.
I think Shirou vs Berserker deserved more, considering Ufotable done better with their opening for HF route on the PS Vita version.

"It's ironic that this is a story about heroes and heroism in general. MEDUSA, one of the more prominent 'malicious' figures of the past and mythology was going against one of the noblest, well-known, epitome of a hero kind of figure of the past. And the former is the one whom we are rooting for."
Rider's character was much more interesting with HF route, each Servant has fleshed out more in one or the other route, the spear dude for example, and a bro on UBW route!

I would say it was more than a visual feast, since Saber does give some slight hints of being displeased with seeing her former master teaming up with Rider, subtle stuff, and also the scene where he kills her, which IMO deserved a BD extra to give it some more screentime, and the alternative ending, a bit expanded for the feels.

This adapted managed to succeed on where it was critical, and you could just enjoy it without thinking about the VN this was X and Y, because it worked as an adaptation, even for fans that could see the differences, and due to the complexity of the source, that is difficult to pull off.
The scene where Sakura is first downed by Gilga (how she goes down plus the expanded content) and the end of the trilogy, explaining what happened to Shirou, were 2 scenes that were much better handled and explained than the VN.

6- I m currently on Rance 8, minus the rape stuff, which doesn't bother me as much anymore, mainly due to the comedic vibe the series goes for, really, there is some great plot and development for this series, and you really came for the art/sexy stuff, but say for the plot/gameplay.
And you don't need a good PC to play them, and it won't be a good idea to buy one for a good time, the market still sucks.

7- I m interested in lots of them, so that would NOT work for me, anything I enjoy I want to be able to revisit again, with the proper tools, it is much more convenient, besides when I m reading either on tablet or desktop, picture by picture, it is bigger and looks better than I would have if I had a manga on my hands, and I have a few, very SELECTIVE, I know, they are not big, and if they were, would use even more space.

Well, you changed again... steam has a feature you can nickname your friends, would have been very welcoming here, but I have talked with some top staff in charge, and pushing new features isn't getting easier, you have to go through a lot of BS, talking with the company that currently holds the website, for example, it is definitely more bothersome than people would initially think.
Definitely, what was your original nickname before intense?

Also, I recommended you Zero no Maria, and I mean that I plan to buy all the physical volumes myself, they are only 7 and if I have to have one full completed LN, that would be the one.
Playcool Jul 14, 2021 8:59 AM
1- Unless you are not living in a democracy, or are living in China, I would think the probability of false numbers on purpose by the government would be too low to consider. (lol, Turkey, I guess I understand what you meant now)

2- So, you read anything more on Cidonia, any thoughts, without spoiling of course.
It seems at least something different from his past works, which can be a good welcome, but again, I m rarely expecting much from stories nowadays, even if it is Ryukishi07.
His work on Higurashi Gou has been fine, but nothing of extraordinary nature.

I know very well who is the real Beato, enough clues were given on ep7 of the VN, for me to be able to picture what really happened, and even if Batler and Ange manage to be the sole survivors by the end, it is kind of a conclusion that I m dreading to read, because yes, I wanted something else...
But the above is not the sole reason why I have yet to start episode 08 on the VN... I have been reading the manga alongside mainly to refresh on the episodes since I first started to play Umineko in 2015, but also, episodes 5-6 were a major confusion for me, and I m still on episode 6 of the manga version, and I want to get it over with, and then proceed to finish vol7 before I go and read the final episode in the VN.
By this time I also need a refresh on episode 7 since I finished it on early 2019.

3- Yes, I saw it shortly after being released on BD, the fanboy in me towards Heaven Feel route ended up giving it a 9.8/10, even though I do feel they could have directed the final battle between our boys better, if you have seen Gurren Laggan movies, the very final fight was something I was expecting them to go more for.
It was still good, and the rest was outstanding, especially loved the inserted ending song which has lyrics that are able to resonate further and a perfect fit for the end of the trilogy, since anime onlies dont have all the context, I think those lyrics were the perfect sendoff, fucking love Yuki Kajiura for a long time, and this is her delivering again, and Aimer with probably one of their best tracks ever.
It sucks the movie did not air on my country, I live in Portugal, so something airing is pretty improbable, but was surprised to see Demon Slayer movie airing here last week, and immediatly bought a ticket, not being disappointed, this kind of movie deserves not only a big screen but also FULL SURROUND SOUND.
I have to surround sound on my living room, so I was able to at least experience Spring Song better than I usually watch anime.

I got into them in 2014, and played FSN in 2015, it is definitely one of the last VNs that I played, that I remember more fondly of, since while I have played some hyped stuff these past years (like Baldr Sky), these have failed to fully deliver on the expectations, whereas FSN surpassed them quickly easily, it was an at least 110h ride that was phenomenal through starting UBW and till ending on HF True ending, it never let me go, loved it so much.

Heaven Feel route was definitely 10/10 for me (9.5/10), also it is harder to rate VN higher, than other mediums, thus when I give a VN a 9.5, you can bet it was better than an anime that I give 9.8/10.
For the way they went with, solely 3 movies, this was the best possible unless they had added more screentime to each movie, 4 movies was what I at least wanted, but I cant not be happy at the end result.
Ufotable has track record of enhancing fights, they did it GOOD with Rider vs Saber, thus I also wanted something better than with got for the real last fight, something that felt even more visceral.

It is very safe to say there is a huge difference between UBW 2014 and HF trilogy OSTs for sure, UBW 2014 deserved a bit better direction and more pumping ost.
I definitely wanted more of Illya scenes, but I think a lot of people would complain if they had included those cooking scenes (to which I had zero problems with tbh, loved even those, yes I m in the minority here).
Well, having seen Fate Zero and Fate Kaleid, that final scene where Illya saw he mother was even more emotional, but then again, her fate is never a happy one due to her situation, I m pretty sure she doesn't last much longer than what we see on Fate route, at least on HF she was able to go out with a bang.

Actually, I still had some confusion left from originally reading Hevan Feel true ending, but after the adaptation ending, I was able to finally piece everything well together, and by that, I meant that she used HF spell, soul-transfer to bring him back and put him on that pedant... that was a nice improvement over the original for me.

Dunno about the Fate route anime remake, that route is much lower in my consideration than the other two, if adapted, I think people will see a big difference in plot quality there.
Then again, I would prefer Ufotable to do that, then work on shit I don't care about.

4- SG0 had some really impressive setpieces, I did cry a lot tbh, mainly because I played SG VN and stopped at the bad ending where she dies, then proceeded to SG0...
Anyone that reads SG 0 will have a better time than watching the anime, whereas the original is an almost perfect adaptation.

You have to invest, besides Muv-Luv Extra is not the most mediocre thing ever, it is just very bland when compared to the real thing, but you do appreciate it later on for what it did, and Muv Luv Unlimited ranged from good to pretty good.

6- I do feel you because I was just like that, but you just need to look upon Rance X and do a bit of search to be positively surprised.
It is worth checking out if you can get over the comedy rape part.
Would say that the Rance 1 remake is a pretty good intro to newcomers.
The real plot build-up starts with Rance VI, then again, you can just play Rance 1 and jump to Rance VI if you want, since Rance 2 is not a remake at all (fucking trap), Rance 3-5 are not in a state currently I would recommend to most (Rance 3 remake is yet to be translated), and you dont lose that much trust me.

Also want to read Saya no Uta, been on holding it forever now.
If if you want some tips to improve your PC I don't mind telling you some, I have built 2 PCs from scratch previous after all, I m pretty decent with what really matters to get one running and going strong.

7 - Physical copies are too much of a chore, I have gotten over them many years ago, since the benefits of being able to carry with me hundreds of manga and LN are far more appealing than having to carry out a single book, containing a volume of a manga or LN.
One?
What about this: https://myanimelist.net/manga/55215/Utsuro_no_Hako_to_Zero_no_Maria
I have only read 2 volumes yet, but it really left me with the impression that it was building up to be 10/10 material.

I mean, we have been in talks for a while, but to this day I still keep in a talk here with people I have known since 2012-2013 on this website. ;P
(you must have changed your username though, cuz I don't really this one, what was yours previously)
Playcool Feb 23, 2021 1:05 PM
1 - I mean, it is my family I m putting at risk and myself, in the current context, it is the minimum anyone should do.
There is no social life to compromise, everyone is on lockdown and been for a while, and even those that liked to go out the most, feel constricted and don't have the same liberty from before.
Life for me didn't change that much, or at least, not as much, as it is for a good chunk of the population.

They have, and it is hard to feel like nothing is going wrong, and they keep to this day reporting such low numbers of covid, as they have it under control, when you compare these to countries which a much inferior population, it is a joke, they want to maintain face, to the point of absurdity that I hope that someday the mask comes off and they have to face all these consequences.

2- Have you read Cidonia yet btw? Any impressions? I don't have that much hype tbh.
The goal for Umineko is to use the manga as a supplement, outside of the wiki pages, and I do plan to read ep8 manga as well.
I m very aware of the nature of this manga version, there were enough people making a ruckus after playing VN ep8, saying they didn't get it, and I believe it was something Ryukishi wanted to make more clear, with the manga.
Was already into Umineko when this whole situation was happening and had friends that had finished it that better explained it to me at the time.

The problem with giving such explanations is that it can kill part of its magic... I always wanted this to be a show where you lean more to the magical side and just having the detective aspect of it, has a bonus, but I do think the manga did destroy such naive thoughts I had, purposely having the mystery side winning over the magical.

3- I myself did a few peaks on the camrip, when it first released, to get an idea of how they did a good part of the movie, but I have yet to watch it, waiting for BDs, which should be right around the corner as of now, I mean, as a fan of the works, I know what will happen, thus my logic says, I can wait, if I was an anime-only...
Forgotten must of what I saw, which is how it usually goes, so I will be having all the more pleasure with the BD version.
Don't think you will change my perception of it much, like, I know what is going to happen, I know they won't be able to adapt every scene, I don't really think anything other can say, would influence me, unless it was things I would never have realized by myself, and you were an open eye to those.

Shirou x Sakura has the most love and heart to me as well, but still saying, Illya is the best girl, and in this case, onee-chan~~

4 - That is really impactful if done that way, SGO becomes more impactful for sure, but I have to say, if you take too long to finish and go back to SG, the true ending loses a bit of feels to it, unless you replay the last several hours again.
You really became a wreck if you stop at the bad ending and go to SG0. xD

Yes, the VN has the bonus route, but outside that, you don't lose too much by skipping the VN, but any fan that LOVED the anime, will have the time of his life after 1-2 weeks with SG VN and finishing it. Have yet to watch SG0 anime, but its source was much harder to adapt, so it would be close to impossible to get the same smooth adaptation, no?
They did their best I feel too, but for anime onlies, they don't have the context of having played both VNs..
Kagari was definitely a disappointment for me in SG0 plot.

SG0 VN is in a much better position than the milking of "Code Geass S3", so I would call the first a major success as delivering more meaningful content for the fans.
The drama didn't felt much forced to me, it was supposed to have a darker tone too, don't recall that much more fanservice in particular, versus what the original VN already.
Mind you, I played SG VN from 2016-2018 and SG0 in 2018, so details escape me.
The chemistry between Okabe and Kurisu has always been the core of my utmost adoration for the series, that is to say, I did enjoy thoroughly each moment with AI Kurisu in SG0, but it also came with a tone of sadness, since I had stopped at the bad ending of SG, so I was in the best position to feel the closest to Okabe there, as possible.

That has always been the case for VN adaptations, I want to be hopeful MLA anime late this year, will be another exception since that is my all-time favorite VN and piece of media content.

5 - Kaguya is probably my all-time favorite rom-com, but that also depends of the mood, since Toradora has livened in my heart and soul for much longer.
For these cases where it is hard to decide, I prefer to say fuck it and just enjoy the fact that they exist and I love them so dearly.

6 - Since you are into VNs, a bit of an update, been playing Rance series since last year, finally finished Rance VI 2 days ago, and with that, I have already finished Rance 1 Remake, Rance 2, and Rance 5D.
The existence of Rance 10 should get most people interested in the series, so I do recommend you to try it out, on paper sounds really bad, but when you play, it works surprisingly well, the comedy is GOLD and each game has its own gameplay, with Sengoku Rance, Rance VII, which I m at, having close to 10/10 gameplay, to this point in time, the only gameplay I really loved on VN, and could call gameplay, was Baldr Sky awesomeness, and YUNO remake, but damm, for strategy lovers, Sengoku Rance is a wet dream come true.
Besides, the plot development this series gets across its games is being compared to Trails of series, and it is by no joke... Rance X is happened to become the final epic scale conclusion that many VNs wish to get but never gotten.

Behind Rance stuff, I do want to finish Baldr Sky, YUNO and Island, and then Umineko, but before I do, I feel like I will give in, to starting Utawarerumono series, since the first remake was finally released on PC.
And not to mention the many PC games I already own, yet to play and finish, on Steam, and all my manga/LN and anime backlog, I have gotten a PS5, and am playing all those games I missed out during PS4, cuz I only had till PS3, and then, on PS3 I also want to finish the Yakuza games, stuff like Darksidders 2, Dishonored, Deus Ex HR, Tales of games, between other stuff, sometimes I wish I could stop time (with PS Plus on PS5, I get access to 20 of the best games of PS4, so got a lot to play, currently on Days Gone and U4).

As for LNs, I am reading some yuri LN, Oregairu & Mushoku Tensei LNs as well, which I read just before I go to sleep.
Guess I will never run out of stuff to enjoy, if my mood is for that, because despite having all of this, sometimes you just feel like nothing it is for you, but as long as I keep a balance and organized schedule, now with college new semester in the horizon, I should avoid such pitfalls again, because you do enjoy free time the most, when you balance it out with responsibilities and things that you invest yourself into, to build your future.

You don't need to put stuff on spoilers btw, I mean, don't you like to see a long post pushing all the other stuff down? xD
Gambatte.

PS: And Trails of Cold Steel IV is getting a PC release in March, considering I put 140h on III, and I m expecting at least as much here...
Playcool Oct 7, 2020 8:32 AM
That was a long one indeed man. xD
I was out of replying to people for months too, for the most part, I have been on the side that has been the least affected, thankfully.
But right now (as I m finishing this reply, and going to the first paragraph to see if I fucked up major anywhere), I m stuck in college, had to come here for a class that has a laboratory, except these, most classes than being watched remotely, which is great, I definitely don't want to risk getting COVID and transmitting it to anyone, I m very healthy and resist to most diseases, but my mother is not, she has respiratory problems, so this really something that unsettles me more than I would like, and the same can be said to almost everyone that has an elderly family I guess.
I could go on a rant, shit could have been toned down a lot of people paid attention to the real China (and that fucked regime sooner), but I m tired of going in rants about China.
Just fuck them, CCP can go burn down in hell, they are cancer to their own people, these are the ones that actually suffered the most.

2 - I have yet to play EP8, really want to read the manga first, besides I m afraid of the ending...

3 & 4 - For me, each route is so long that I find myself thinking about them separately, not to say I find them something people could enjoy individually, you do have to play the three of them, but tbh, the sole purpose of Fate route to me was just to serve as an introduction, it is a fine and enjoyable read, yes, but the other 2 are so much better to me, that it just gets overshadowed.

Well, the third movie took this long due to COVID, so I guess we have to wait for Spring 2021, I checked a bit of a cam version, but didn't linger too long, was just curious for how they would do some stuff, I m more relieved now that I know they keep up with the true ending.
IMO both UBW and HF True Endings are the pinnacle of what an ending should be, many VNs fail at delivering but to me, I did appreciate a lot both routes at such strong ending, as in, I read it and am left satisfied, I felt a nice closure, despite the bittersweet ending that HF is since, for me, Illya was always Fate's best girl.

Have yet to watch Vinland Saga anime, but Wit just needed to do a decent job to get it right, considering the quality they usually output, the plot would always do the rest.
But, it has to be said, that it is those final moments that make the plot, it was that slow build-up, that you could foresee, then coming out and defying what you expected to happen.

Nah, there was nothing much to be going on with the Fate route, it was and felt like an introduction, and Saber & Emiya's bond was probably fine in 2004-2008, but it aged poorly to me, maybe a remake could set things better, but really for me, there is nothing I would change in either UBW or HF, and I thoroughly loved HF SoL moments, something most people hated, loved it all, it wouldn't be wrong if someone called me a fanboy of that route, but I really don't have much negative to say about it, it was clearly one of the best readings in my life and I will never forget it.

Before playing the VN I thought surely this must be a kinda overrated no?
Nope.
And I played quite a lot of lengthy VNs before I gave FSN a chance, it still not the best, but to me, it ranks among the best especially in having almost no boring moment and having so many neat features, like extras, useful saving feature, tiger dojo and full voice acting.

I agree, aside from Zero, which I have yet to finish the LN to say, HF is overall the best adaptation so far, and it also needed to be, no way it would work as they did for UBW.

It really seems like Sakura is getting more fans now, which is great because she and Illya are the starts of HF, and I still don't like they reduce Illya's scenes, but I heard they put some extra focus on her, for the third movie, it is like you said, I think they could have made each movie 5-10 min longer, and just include Illya there, suddenly only giving her focus on the final movie will not balance very well, maybe they pulled if of, but I don't dare to check the cam version again, prefer to wait.

H-Scenes on HF where the only ones I actually enjoyed, UBW and Fate were pure CRINGE, besides, you can argue that was rape with Rin on UBW... felt wrong.
That is another reason for me that HF was that amazing.

I don't recall most details about the VN, so I can't really comment much other than Taiga Dojo brought a lot to the VN and was purely a genius move.
This iteration of her doesn't portrait her as a better person, not at all, and she doesn't need to be it either, she was boring in the 2006 adaptation, where she appeared the most till these movies, and we can't really count on Zero, despite some people making ships of her with the uncle dude (disgusting).
She needed to be appealing, show deep, and this was the perfect route for her, with Fate Zero being more a prequel of HF than of the other routes, at least for me, definitely, the prequel was a successor in spirit to its sequel.

Sakura was always more enjoyable to me than Saber, when I learned about HF, it was just a matter of choosing between Rin and Sakura, which is hard, but I will say that Sakura x Shirou is the best ship by far, and Illya the best girl out of all of them.
And my appreciation for Illya actually started with FSN 2006 anime, so I overjoyed when I heard HF was hers and Sakura's route, though we both know Fate Kaleid was the true route that Illya never got since hers was cut out of the development.
About Rin, that is a hard question, the fanboy in me liked to see her giving less shit to her sister on the movie...

Voice acting in general is on a very high level in Japan, which is why they are paid more than even those directing anime.
I don't expect anything less here.

Yes, I have loved that deconstruction of those cliches too, I love well-executed dark love stories, we don't get many, but I m a sucker for twisted stuff that leaves you all divided and confused inside, for all the right reasons.
Previous to FSN, the first VN I finished was Rewrite, and I ADORED Lucia's route there, and I heard that her route was in a way similar to Sakura's so I was totally psyched for Heaven Feel the most when I started playing the VN, but I didn't rush to it, I enjoyed every single route since I do think even Fate's is way above the average on VNs.

I love characters when done right, like Sakura, because she feels way more grounded and likable to me, I don't want an ideal, something 100% pure, maybe sometimes sure, but you get it too much.
Another reason I liked Scum Wish a lot, just felt more genuine and twisted, it felt real.

That is a very interesting analysis, I won't say I agree or disagree, I simply never thought about it for HF, as Sakura being a plot device.
Again, I played the VN in 2015, and I watched II in 2019, but I do recall some key scenes and I was happy with that scene where he was going to kill her, for the time they had, and considering there was a lot of internal conflict with Shirou's monologues, I approve what they did.

Can you get a perfect visual novel adaptation though? I could argue that Steins Gate was nearly perfect yes but still.
I also think as far as VN adaptations go, this one is probably of the hardest ones I have seen, to be adapted, and they were up to it for the most part.
If I m going to nitpick, I wanted either to be more than 3 movies or longer run time, why are they afraid of going around 150 minutes?
No one will care if you keep the audience engaged, you are adapting over 40 hours of reading into only 6 hours!
Also, they did skip a lot of stuff, and if you see where they are, I m sure it is at least around 75-85%, sure they wanted to give more emphasis and time for the final stuff, but with at least 4 movies... the thing is, they wanted it to end on a cliffhanger like Sakura's turning into the Shadow, so this was the only way.

Anime onlies will certainly find this trilogy a very welcome change, something they were not expecting, but as a fan of the original, I m certainly not enjoying it any less, I m conscious of the sacrifices they had to do, vs what they were able to achieve, so I have a lot of appreciation.

Aimer doing a great job, it sucks what happened to Kalafina, but this was the very next best. They did some solid work with UBW 2014 OP/ED as well, I loved ED1 a lot.

5 - Anime adaptations will always be for the most part, for promoting the original work, whereas I don't have the same feeling with book adaptations to the cinema in the occident.
While it can the best, I think that is only true in specific cases, like when I m sitting on my chair in front of my PC, or on the sofa.

Manga and LN are far more enjoyable to me than anime, when I m on the bed or on the beach, for example, too really extreme opposites, when I m on the bus and want some privacy, especially for LNs.

6 - S2 is an even better adaptation, but I have yet to finish it, I know what is going to happen, but I also want to wait for GJM Subs to finish their work on it.
That said, what comes ahead within the manga will be even better, so I m expecting an S3 to have the strongest climax yet.

Not at all, I m not going back to proofread what is above, far too much text, took me too long to write, and I just don't have the time, I actually had to write this in 3 different instants, also doesn't help that I forgot most of it, or was not anything as within that mindset of what I said, when I wrote it, sure you will feel the same way when you have to reply.
I do think you did a great job there, it felt like you put a lot of effort surround HF, whereas I definitely on purpose didn't want to go too deep, because I really have to be in the moment for that, and proofread a lot, and I wanted to keep it more casual you know.
You actually don't need to reply to everything I said, no np man.

Dunno if by the next reply I will have Umineko done, my heart just isn't ready and in the mood for it right now.

1 - You only started using it 3 years ago right?
I recall MAL being more primitive, they have undergone 1-2 major changes over the years, that really make the website for the better.
Happy with the current status, visual changes arent always for the better, more so when there are alot of people that dont like such changes and ARE forced to swallow them without a change to have the old layout.
Ask Itunes users about it, I dont fancy Apple, but love and have used Itunes for many years, it is essential to my music collection and I have been very adamant over almost forced updates due to new features, losing how more pratical it was in some regards before, currently stuck on a version that I dont want to change from cuz next one is meh for me.
Same can be said about google chrome bookmark, prefered the old layout, it was more compact, had more bookmarks in the screen, but everyone was forced to deal with this new design BS.
So I prefer MAL to stay as it is, instead of changing for worst and forcing everyone to go along it.

2 - One of Umineko biggest illusions is that can lead to the idea that there is a ship, but the truth is cold and ruthless, and brilliant but also leaving you with some lingering and mixed emotions.

3 - It is, the price they charge for a single BD volume in Japan is insane, but also due to it not selling that much, and things involving licenses and different companies together... everything makes those ridiculous prices, I was saying I would buy in a ideal world where you could get the 3 movies for 60€'s
You may have seen HF II by now, it is worth that much IMO.
If you like such series, you should give Vinland Saga a try, talking about the manga, the anime is only going to cover till 50's, it will be a long wait, where you already have 160's chapters of the manga to read, it is a really oustanding product, no romance, but otherwise, among the very best you can get. Mangaka knows what is character development.

I still do like to give scores, but sometimes I do feel like I m forced to, and I dont really want to, when just heighing the pros and cons, and why some people might like or hate it, always does a better job, but a score helps sort stuff out on a macroscope level, and if people want recommendations, they are better asking others their opinions rather than just base themselves on a number.

I loved the fact that the LN as itself, had so much lore to it, and a really great HUD and extras that eased you exploring the lore, and having everything well organized and tidy.
FSN is the best VN I have seen in just regards, and lets not forget it was released in 2004!
2 years after something like Ever17 which has aged very BADLY.

4 - The longer the work, and the longer it can maintain a certain quality that keeps you in, the more advantage it will have, IF you have time to lose yourself in the work, versus shorter stories, which is the reason I think VNs are my favorite medium in storytelling, which in the end makes the most impact with me versus LN, manga and anime mediums, which also is a reason why a 9 or 10 for VN is much more meaningful for me that one across other mediums.
In case of HF movies, I far that is rather a disavantage to have to rate each movie alone, when I have rated something like the route itself as one big thing, I would much rater attribute the same score to all the movies, consider it a only big movie, but at the same time doesnt feel right to do that.
I ended giving movie II the lowest 10 I can give, pushing it for a 9, it is not only a 9 cuz I know all the build this movie did for III.
Still that movie is far from being a 10 for me, but fuck it, have more important things to busy myself with.

5 - Anime is the easiest and most common medium for people to digest series, so you will always see people that got into the source material through the easy gate that is the animde adaptation, no matter how good or bad it is.
And rarely will a person go watch the source material if he didnt like the anime adaptation, exceptions are when he heard the source is much better and may like it way more, which also happens quite alot.
But the most common is people that go watch such mediums like LNs or manga, or even VNs, because at least the anime adaptation for them was already a fun experience, and they want the source feel, or just to continue to the plot, which almost always end in people enjoying it even more, provides most sources are always a bit better, thus manga/LN ratings being easily higher.
This has always been my case, sure I have also have quite some cases where I do avoid the anime adaptation while being interested in watching it later, and since I was already interested, I wanna go with the supposed superior source version.
Vinland Saga the biggest example, Monster another, Arifureta recently started the LN, it isnt anything to write home about or a easy reccomendation, but by low standarts it is interesting enough, whereas I have read and seen why the anime is not something people should start with, the source material already had its own problems then an abismal anime adaptation happen, LOL.

1 - Understandable, while I may make fun of empty profiles, it is just me joking, MAL doesnt really give any good tools to have stuff done fast, and you can spend all the time you want doing something, to later next year feeling like it is getting old, and it is time to waste all your precious free time again doing it... waste of time IMO, I mostly just put a new pictures here and there and lazy out about the rest.
You should always try to be an assertive and self-confident person, BUT not to the point of being arrogant! Otherwise you will have many opportunities in your life, lost or stealed from you cuz you let people get away getting what they wanted or failed in grabbing hold of that change in your life that could have turned for the better if only you had reach out for it.

2 - Yet romance, understanding the heart, is one of the core principals of Umineko, at least for me. Also love has many sides and ways of being expressed, like the love between Batler and Ange, which is so endearing and beautifully sad, LOVE Angeee!
Lucia best tsuntsun ever, 5 years later my appreciation and adoration for her is still as strong... that ship is so strong O.O

3 - They have, Heaven's Feel is a very mature work, and I cant wait for having all movies out in BD to watch it! I would even considering buying a whole trilogy set IF BDs werent region blocked, and shit wasnt that expensive, would glady pay 60€ for those BDs...
Lucia's route later on is the most similiar to what I have seen of HF yet across other series, it is sweet but can also be so cruel, bold and drastic.
I just love, love stories that break the mold and get really dark and different while also being fucking CUTE to read!!
It is funny we are talking about FSN, but you kinda rated it quite lowly, I was expecting to you liking it more than that rating suggests, based on the above.

4 - It is there because it mostly works well, to have a plot starting more light, letting you dig the cast, then shit gets rough, it is not a criticism IMO, also Ryukishi07 does this alot, just like most writters, you gotta have a change to soften towards the characters, to care, to get the emotional investement when things get far harsher.
Also a VN is usually a much longer piece of writting that most other mediums, so it is understandable pacing issues, Umineko AND Higurashi are among those that you could mostly complain about having them.
I do think stuff like FSN are one of the rare examples of a LONG VN that didnt have any pacing problems for me, Rewrite common route also was dope to read.
The longer the work is, the harder it gets to balance that out.

6 - Who told you that is lying or must be ignorant... I havent seen much of that anime but the feedback I have is that is an almost flawless adaptation, page per page, so people can actually watch the anime, and feel free to skip the manga.
I myself choosen to read the manga and leaving the anime to watch many years later, and said year as come, and I will be watching Monster anime soon, since I have forgotten about alot of details of the manga.
Reason why the manga is rated higher is cuz the anime is just a competent adaptation, it didnt go out of its way to do something more, you can say they played safe in fully adaptating the manga.
So it is normal manga fans will give higher regards to the source material in this case.
You can go and watch the anime without a problem.

1 - Np, that said, you dont have much going for your profile, so people cant really get that much impression, also the more you write on the forums, the more probable is to have people approach you, I still have some people that come to me, but most of the times I usually came to their profile and start the first chatting and all.
Never had a problem or was shy in initating converstations, either here or on real life. :3

2 - Rewrite's Lucia works, and for me is a 10 romance route, because the ship there has the most sweet, naive, pure and just damm cute interactions I have ever seen, I have read till EP7 of Umineko, finished that, Beato x Batler is meaningful sure, but Lucia x Kotarou romance is just the most pure and sweet romance I have ever seen.
Sure that can be subjective, but for me it made all the difference, I had rewatched many scenes from that route over the years, played the route at least twice, and still get all those cozy and warms feelings, it just melts my head from all the sweetness, beware you will end with diabetes~~

3 - What sells the true ending for me for HF, is obviously the outcome of everything but also that Illyia is my favorite girl from the series (besides Sakura x Shirou being my favorite ship from it too).
Since I talked about Lucia's route... her route shares some similarities with Sakura's, in term of how much can the heroines succumb to despair and sin to the point of no return (but you still understand, and can look past that).
In a way, the romance between Sakura x Shirou shares many similarities with Lucia x Kotarou, in the hurdles they go through, but Rewrite's the most fucking adorable romance ever, and Lucia is my all time favorite tsun-tsun~~
(my MAL title on the forums aludes to my forum avatar, which is hers)

4 - Nothing can beat the storytelling the best VNs have gave to me, which is why I regard that as my favorite medium, no plot is that regarding in anyother medium.
Some anime adaptations, like Steings Gate and Little Busters Refrain whoever, came close to it.

5 - First step would be for you to create an account on vndb, I could link you to some really really amazing stuff, and also avoid reccomending what you have already have on your vndb list as finished.

6 - My all 3 favorite manga works are Monster, Pandora Hearts, and Relife, I may in the future add more to the list, but these 3 were special to me like nothing else I had ever read on the manga medium.

Take your time, I busy myself with alot of stuff, so my replies usually also take a long time before I decide to write them.

0 could never work as a standalone, it relies far too much on the original for that to happen.

There are alot of people on MAL that have readed even more VNs than I did, it is just that that I have also readed quite my share already.

Ryukishi's route on Rewrite, Lucia's, is far different from what you see either on Umineko or Higurashi, but as a standalone route it is still amazing to read, realize this is my opinion, but this route is my favorite romance plot ever and it is very dark and warm at the same time, it is sweet yet it fills you with despair... it is like showing a person that never loved, what love is, then once he tastes its sweetness, rip it of from him forever... it is that despairing, but also has a very heartfelt conclusion).
I m a BIG fanboy of that route, all things considered I dunno if you should go for Rewrite solely for that, it is a great VN overall, and Lucia's is just a portion of it, and before you get there you have at least 30-35 hours of common route reading (which is filled with lots of great romcom moments).

So can I understand that you have played and finished fate stay night whole VN?
I mean, you cant compare the anime adaptations to the VN. Myself, I always though it was overrrated VN, UNTIL I played it, people need to play UBW and HF routes, before commenting on FSN...

They are?
It maybe interesting, my only comment is that I would like to see something like Ever17, but perfected, the tension of Ever17 better moments far outshadows anything both writters have ever written.

For me, it doesnt work like that, it is all about mood swings, sometimes I m at a point of my life where I m mostly prone to some vs others, it is always temporary, and I never enjoy focusing solely on one too much, for too long.

That sound silly indeed, but head my advice, get a tablet.
Most of my reading, both LN and manga is done using my tablet (use the phone alot also for LN), it is a great device for it, digital manga/LN is best consumed in a portable device that you can carry with you anywhere and read at leisure.

VNs are the full package as storytelling, development and long lasting appeal goes, but it requires alot of time investement, which is why I dont consume as much VNs as I do other mediums, despite VNs being my favorite medium among them.

I finished SG 0 around mid-to-late september, the VN, dont plan to see the airing for 0 this year for now.
All I can say is based on the opinion I have from the VN. It surely has its moments, and the pacing overall is more enjoyable and consistent, whereas the original has that very dragged beggining, anyone reading 0 will have an easier time starting it than the original, then again, you can only reccomend people to read 0 after the original...
The way I did it was, I wanted to finish my run of Steins gate VN (seen anime in 2013) and right at the very end, before true route I gone to 0 and finished the whole thing, what is left for me now is to go back and finish the true route (I got alot more feels from 0 due to this).
0 justifies its existence as a sequel/prequel, isnt has great as the original, but manages to capitalize greatly for original fans, and how its how it does have some really nice writting, plot twists and dialogue between the cast, plus the music is better than the original, the final part was a bit of a disappoint though (more so when you hear people reviewing and praising the conclusion).

Keep in mind the structure of 0 is much more complex and non linear than the original, so White Fox had to compromise and I heard quite some opposite opinions about it from fans that readed the VN.
The anime also had to follow a certain order they found to be right, but during my play I followed one very much different so again, this can take a big impact in the end.
I would say, you may want to give the whole original and 0 VNs a try someday, definitly not so soon.

As for VN reccomendations? My favorite of all time is Muv Luv series... fate stay night is amazing how its own, Rewrite (dont watch the anime), has a route written by Ryukishi07, which was 10/10 material for me, Little Busters, Higurashi (duh)... VNs are so long, I havent experience that many different series yet, but aside those above, I could reccomend you Ever17 or the Zero Escape series too.
Recently been reading Island VN, very enjoyable (anime seem to SUCK ALOT), for next year I m very hyped about Yuno VN, the remaster from the classic VN that tops the charts along with MLA.
Baldr Sky, White Album 2, Eustia, DracoRiot, etc, etc, there are quite alot series I m looking forward to play one day.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
