Pompo: The Cinéphile is a 90-minute show about striving in the movie industry, filled with a great proportion balance between comedy and drama, as well as giving audiences a glimpse of how the movie industry and the filmmaking process works.

to bring the project to success. While it is not just Gene, each character also has their own story, background, and goals to achieve. Each of them will be affecting or influencing Gene in some way or another.
The art style and its color usage fit with the atmosphere of the show. The animation is something that really made the show much better, simply adding the dimension, which creates epicness in some scenes. Insert songs of this show are also something, I love how they are played, which really brings excitement to audiences.
I personally love the characterization of this show. The design of each character are being a bit different in style, which some kind of reflects their personality. One more thing you may notice is the fact that they use well-known or experienced voice actors on experienced characters and new voice actors on inexperienced characters. Despite all of that, they all did a great performance.
Lastly, despite not being an action genre show, I feel the excitement during the watch. The show does not dig too deep into every character’s background while being able to not leaving out a single necessary element or scene, making the perfect 90-minute length. This is probably the reason the show is able to keep the concentration of the audiences during the whole watch thanks to the smooth and continuous editing. The only downside is that I wish for somewhat more of Pompo’s screentime as the show title suggests.
Overall, Pompo: The Cinéphile gave me a great watching experience. The filmmaking in this show is what defines the greatness of this show. I truly recommend this show to anyone who wishes to experience something art-like or just wants to watch a show related to the movie industry.

“I’m okay. I’ll be all right by myself.” - Konatsu Amano
Loneliness, what is it even about? How does it feel to be special to someone? Nettaigyo wa Yuki ni Kogareru contains those answers.
The story starts off calm and fresh, beginning with Konatsu alone moving to Nagahama, a seaside town located in the Ehime prefecture. Transferring to Nanahama High School, Konatsu meets Koyuki, a 2nd-year student and a president of the Aquarium club, then their life begins to change forever.

The story goes on not being too rushed and not being too dragging, simply at the perfect pace. The storytelling is surprisingly beautiful. Along the way, as the relationship between Konatsu and Koyuki develops, many cute and worthwhile moments arise. The story is able to express the characters’ emotions to the fullest, joy, happiness, loneliness, sadness, and pain, all seem real and effective.
I love how the manga contains a hidden meaning. It was right there at the beginning of the story and continued influencing the story towards to conclusion. I also love how Konatsu compares the salamander to Koyuki, as well as the manga itself representing it as loneliness. The overall story might not be that outstanding, but the storytelling is something remarkably beautiful and worth mentioning.
As for the characters, I love how the characters like Konatsu and Koyuki are designed to be imperfect, both being incomplete and having their flaws. Koyuki is portrayed as a character who looks perfect from the outside, being hard to approach, trying her best to hide her flaws and weaknesses, but somehow, Konatsu is the only one to who Koyuki showing those things. As they spend time with each other, they get to know each other more. Another worth mentioning character is Kaede Hirose, Konatsu’s classmate. From the outside, she is energetic and cheerful, yet something is lurking within her mind. Kaede adds a dimension to the story, making the manga more complete.
As for the art, it is simply gorgeous, rendering characters cute and charming. Not to mention that the cover is pretty much appealing. The moment I saw the cover, I became interested in the manga. The only complaint is that the art started to get a bit rough in the 7th volume and clearly noticeable in the 9th volume, anyhow, it is filled with much more details and the volume cover is incredibly beautiful.
Lastly, since the story is set in Nagahama, Ehime, this manga has done a great job portraying this element. Many places are being referenced from real-world places, take the Nanahama High School being referenced from the Ehime Prefectural Nagahama High School for example. Also, by reading this manga in the Japanese language, you can experience the Iyo dialect, a dialect spoken in the Ehime prefecture, feeling strange yet attractively unique, although it is a little difficult to understand. Furthermore, as the story is set in the seaside town, a calm oceanic vibe is being given, which truly represents the beauty of Ehime itself.
Overall, Nettaigyo wa Yuki ni Kogareru gave me a great reading experience. I love every moment between Konatsu and Koyuki which I find cute. I consider the first 4 volumes amazing, following by the 5th and 6th volumes which might feel a bit lackluster, but the 7th volume has an astonishing moment and has made a comeback, then the story progresses toward the ending in the 8th and 9th volume, reaching a sweet and satisfying conclusion. This manga has become something special to me. I am looking forward if this manga receives an anime adaptation. Hope you enjoy it!

“You are the ace I chose.” - Hina
A world ruled by numbers, you gain and lose points for specific things you do. The concept starts out interesting and promising, but the execution of the idea is badly done.
Story - 2/10
When you have a bunch of ideas and want to create something full flavor but what you did is you pour everything in together without proper filtering or organization, Plunderer is a result of that. Compared to food, it looks like a product of someone who doesn’t know how to properly cook.

the story. While some revelations make sense, but some are way too absurd. They are way too convenient to be a coincidence, making me think the world is too small, probably not a way to connect everything together. In addition, some mysteries are not being explained properly, they are more like a rough explanation in order to be able to say that the show is not totally illogical.
The overall story is a serious theme but containing multiple weird and off-themed moments, such as cooking competition or drinking competition between characters who were just fighting each other to death.
Animation - 5/10
The animation quality is at the standard level but contains obvious flaws, which are stiff action scenes and intentional chibi-style art. In some scenes of Plunderer, the art turned characters into chibi-style, which I find not necessary, they resemble a lazy work.
Sound - 7/10
Standard theme songs and soundtracks. I am not a sound expert, so I would say that I find nothing outstanding and nothing bugged me.
Characters - 3/10
Plunder gave me a bad first impression. Licht Bach, a portrayal of a true pervert, who wanted to see Hina’s underwear at the first met, which she was a total stranger to Licht at that time. Normal ecchi is fine, but sexual harassment is not something to impress audiences with.
As mentioned in the story section, mysteries are getting revealed one by one throughout the story but having too much coincidence. Those mysteries involve characters and their relationships, which are mostly not convincing in a level that reading spoilers from Fandom does not ruin your enjoyment, but instead become more interesting.
After all, the characters of Plunderer are only tools to make the story proceed. The writing does not make characters important at all. Characters may have a background and unique personality, but their personality has no effect or has nothing to do with the story, which makes them easily replaceable.
Enjoyment - 3/10
The only thing that was able to keep me watching this show is the concept, which nevertheless did not get a proper explanation. I only wanted to see which direction would this mess go.
Recommendations
I do not recommend this to any people who are familiar with anime. If you are still new to anime, Plunder is something you may be able to enjoy.

“You really seem to love me when I’m Taro.” - Miyo Sasaki
Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu, or A Whisker Away is a movie with the main theme of cats. Yes, many cats, a lot of cats. A light romance content with the supernatural matter involved, resulting in a perfect combination of the movie.
Story - 9/10

less, giving you time to enjoy the whole movie instead of making you try to understand what’s going on. The whole concept is interesting and unique, making A Whisker Away became a must-watch. The movie also maintains the proportion of the supernatural element and the daily life element at the appropriate level, being not too heavy on one side. Lastly, I would say that the story contains both sad and happy moments, leading to a satisfying conclusion.
Animation - 10/10
Eye-friendly, tender, and cute, these 3 words describe the art perfectly. While not being as vibrant as Your Name or Tenki no Ko, instead, A Whisker Away shows its own charm of art in the usage of colors. The art matches and creates the tender mood and tone of the movie, and when combined with such high-quality scenery art, a score of 10 is obtained easily.
Sound - 8/10
The overall soundtracks are pretty standard. During my 104-minute watch, I noticed nothing outstanding, also nothing has bugged me. While A Whisker Away may not have the best soundtrack, it has the perfect ending songs, perfectly matched my music taste. Yes, 2 ending songs, both are sweet and lovely, and both performed by Yorushika. The 2nd song is kind of a surprise since the song hasn’t been released before.
Characters - 8/10
A 104-minute length might not be enough to introduce supporting characters fully, but it was able to introduce audiences the main characters to its fullest.
Miyo Sasaki and Kento Hinode, these 2 main characters are the star of the show. Miyo, or nicknamed as Muge, is introduced as an energetic girl, having a crush on Hinode, which is literally a normal guy. Miyo is being ignored and not being liked back by Hinode is not her only problem. While handling this matter, both Miyo and Hinode also have their own personal problems to deal with. Thus by not understanding each other may lead to hurting one another without knowing. This is how characters have completed the story and bringing the potential to the movie.
Enjoyment - 9/10
A Whisker Away is cute, being a unique watch, not many shows have animals as their main theme, and this movie is a success. What I enjoyed the most is the art and the theme song, which are totally charming and beautiful, matching the sweet and tender mood of the story. Overall, this movie left me an impression. My 104-minute watch is well spent.
Recommendations
If you are looking for a unique movie with a light supernatural element, romance, and eye-friendly art, then I recommend this anime, or even if you just love cats. Enjoy!

🥈 8/10
How do you imagine zombies? They would surely look scary, having a rotten body, and full of scars. Well, that is what it might be until you watch Sankarea.
🎬 Story - 7/10
The story starts when a boy named Chihiro Furuya lost his cat Baabu by an accident, trying to revive him with despair, then he met Rea. As written in the synopsis, Rea became a zombie at some point in the story.
The storytelling is slow yet enjoyable, being character-focused, not boring at all. However, the story still lacks many things, nothing surprising

has happened yet due to the anime length, as the anime only adapted 2 out of 11 volumes of the manga with some additions and alternations, but it is overall a very nice start.
By looking superficially, Sankarea might seem to be a relaxing and happy anime due to the anime length and Rea being a cheerful type of character, but deep down, Sankarea is rather a sad one. So far, I have found no plot holes, as everything could be explained logically. Lastly, as suggested by the ecchi tag, this show contains only a little of ecchi, which I consider being great since I personally do not prefer ecchi and the overuse of the ecchi element can ruin the anime.
🎨 Animation - 8/10
Sankarea has a normal art style, not being so unique, but comes with a quality higher than standard. The most noticeable qualities are sceneries, lightings, and shadows, which are done finely. Art on the characters could also be improved further by adding more details.
🔈 Sound - 8/10
Sankarea consists of a nice opening and ending theme song, both giving off a unique vibe. I personally prefer the ending theme song. As for soundtracks, I consider them as well-made. Sankarea’s soundtracks are not outstanding, but they fit and create the mood and tone of the anime. As mentioned in the story section, deep down Sankarea is rather a sad story, and some of the soundtracks point out that hidden sadness.
🕶 Characters - 8/10
Starting with Chihiro Furuya, a zombie maniac. Different from many other shows’ male protagonist, he is not weak and whiny type, he is not plain and overly-nice either, he rather differs from standard and having some unique traits, which are what make him a fine male protagonist.
Next, Rea Sanka, who later becomes a zombie. Rea’s story is told pretty detailed, revealing her sad past, which describes the reasons for all of her actions throughout the show. While Rea might look like a normal female protagonist, I somehow found her special. I wonder how could someone be able to create such a cute and charming character like her.
Rea has parents which considered to be her troubles, with the story revealing backgrounds of both of her parents, it makes sense even how irritating her parents’ actions are and how her relationship with her parents has come to this point.
Lastly, supporting characters like Mero and Ranko are not being left out. With the additional story on both of them, the show seems to be more complete, especially the story on how Chihiro and Ranko became friends since their childhood.
🎉 Enjoyment - 8/10
Sankarea is quite an easy-to-watch and enjoyable show. It is actually one of a few shows I could watch several episodes continuously without a break, cliffhangers might be one of the reasons, which exist at the end of many episodes. To be honest, what I loved about this show most is the female protagonist, Rea. Other than her cuteness and her charm, what I find interesting is how she still be able to enjoy her time despite of her cruel fate. I consider this to be a success of the show since the show is named after her after all.
📌 Recommendations
Sankarea is not an outstanding show but rather a unique one. If you are looking for a unique non-action anime, unique supernatural anime, or an anime with a nice female protagonist, then I recommend this anime. Despite being suggested a romance genre, I recommend not to get your expectations up for that, it is still too early since this is the first adaption of Sankarea.
After the show completion, I encourage you to read the manga which has already finished publishing. Even though the anime has already adapted 2 out of 11 volumes, I recommend starting over from the beginning since there are some slight differences, I am sure you will have a great experience. Enjoy!

Ashita Sekai ga Owaru toshitemo, or translated as “even if the world ends tomorrow”, is considered to be a drama, romance, action, and sci-fi movie. While this movie holds an interesting concept and great potential, they were executed poorly. It is not entirely bad, but rather a disappointing one.
Story - 4/10
Ashita Sekai ga Owaru toshitemo is a story of two people, involving two worlds, or so-called two Japan. The story itself is easy to follow and understandable. Only the confusing part is the ending due to a lack of proper explanation

of its logic. While the first half of the movie is mainly drama and romance, the other half is mainly action and sci-fi. The sci-fi concept is interesting and explained clearly, but the drama and the romance element are not being executed very well. They do exist in the movie, but they had no effects on me at all, mainly due to being driven by lifeless characters, which will be explained later in the characters section.
Animation - 4/10
The overall art of Ashita Sekai ga Owaru toshitemo is vibrant, it consists of nice scenery art, but not-so-good 3D art style on characters. Using a 3D art style on characters is somewhat a bad idea for 3 reasons. First, it does not go well with the scenery art, next, it mostly came out low-quality and low-FPS, and lastly, it is difficult or unnatural for characters to show emotions or expressions.
Watching this movie is like watching an in-game cutscene, but it lags. The sequences in action scenes are made pretty fine, but it still lags. It is true that if the FPS is too high it would become weird for an anime, but this is too low, making it disturbing to watch.
Sound - 7/10
Ashita Sekai ga Owaru toshitemo consists of an insert song and an ending song by Aimyon, which I personally feel neutral towards them, but they might be perfect for fans of Aimyon or people who have their music tastes matched. As for soundtracks, I considered them to be standard, I am not a sound expert, so I would say that I find nothing outstanding and nothing bugged me.
Characters - 4/10
As being said, Ashita Sekai ga Owaru toshitemo holds great potential, but these lifeless characters ruined it, probably resulted from using 3D art style on characters. They literally do not show any facial expressions, whether it is joy or sadness. Only love is shown in speech and fear is shown in screams. As for the other parts, background and motive of all characters are being told clearly, they are not detailed, but enough to understand them and the story.
Enjoyment - 4/10
I enjoyed the sci-fi concept and the vibrance of the art. Action scenes are fairly enjoyable, but romance and drama elements are not. What I did not enjoy the most were lifeless characters, the 3D art style used on them, and the low FPS.
Recommendations
Ashita Sekai ga Owaru toshitemo is not a bad watch, but it is not a good one either. The movie did not reach my standards and expectations, but it might reach yours. If you like sci-fi, I encourage you to give this movie a try. Enjoy!

Yuru Camp△ has made an amazing performance in 2018, here is a new light-weight show added to the Yuru Camp△ series, Heya Camp△. Do not let the title mislead you, it is not anything related to camping in the room, but rather a side story of Yuru Camp△.

Rather than featuring 5 main characters like in Yuru Camp△, Heya Camp△ focuses on 3 girls, Nadeshiko, Chiaki, and Aoi instead. This is a good idea of giving audiences more details and screen time of Chiaki and Aoi since Nadeshiko and Rin are the main stars of the main show, Yuru Camp△.
🎉 Enjoyment - 8/10
As relaxing as always. While waiting for the second season of Yuru Camp△, it is nice getting a light-weight show. If watching Yuru Camp△ is like having a main dish, Heya Camp△ would be a dessert. Since I love traveling in Japan, I liked the idea of the show, but sadly it is way too short but enjoyable and relaxing enough.

After a long tiring week of school or work, maybe a getaway is something you need. How about camping? Traveling and exploring somewhere far from the city is actually not a bad idea. Yuru Camp△ is probably one of the most relaxing anime you can find, giving audiences traveling and camping experience, which takes place in Yamanashi and its nearby prefectures, where one of the most popular landmarks in Japan, Mount Fuji, is visible, and of course with cute high school girls. Rin Shima, nicknamed Shimarin, while on her usual camping, she met Nadeshiko Kagamihara who has just moved to Yamanashi, that is how the story starts. Yuru Camp△ offers audiences a unique theme, camping. The story is mainly about high school girls go traveling and camping around Yamanashi and its nearby prefectures.
Personally, I love the idea of storytelling that focuses on sightseeing and camping places, making Yuru Camp△ sometimes give off a vibe of a travel show with cute girls as the show hosts. Furthermore, with a camping-focused story, audiences are able to learn and experience things that campers do, like choosing a place to camp, traveling, or choosing and buying different types of camping gear.
The story itself has no actual weak points, but the potential to be better. It would be awesome if the story actually has a big goal and be a bit more character-focused. Overall, Yuru Camp△ offers a great, feel-good, and very relaxing experience. In addition, this show also includes comedic moments which will surely make you smile.
🎨 Animation - 8/10
The overall art quality is above standard, pretty much high quality. The art itself is considered to be eye-friendly, composed of low-saturated colors on both scenery and characters. The art of sceneries is excellent, very much detailed and realistic. Since the show is mainly about camping around Yamanashi and its nearby prefectures, by referencing real places, having it more realistic is a correct choice, matching the mood and tone of the anime. In addition, foods in Yuru Camp△ looks delicious.
🔈 Sound - 10/10
Yuru Camp△ is probably one of the anime having the most relaxing soundtracks ever. During my 12-episode watch, soundtracks never failed to amaze me, being able to make me noticed almost all of them. They are surely the main source of such a relaxing vibe of this show.
Soundtracks are mostly composed of the sound of an acoustic guitar, an ideal musical instrument to perform on the campfire site, and also a woodwind instrument, probably a flute. Overall wise choice of choosing music instruments in creating such relaxing soundtracks, matching the nature and camping theme.
Yuru Camp△ also has a nice opening song and a very relaxing ending song, it is recommended not to skip them, try listening to them at least once, you will surely love them.
🕶 Characters - 8/10
Yuru Camp△’s main characters consist of 5 high school girls, Rin, Nadeshiko, Aoi, Chiaki, and Ena. The characters are very well-created, surprisingly cute, they can be even better with more stories and details.
Starting with the character design, overall pretty great and cute, despite the characters are having fancy hair colors, having low-saturated colors creates a perfect balance of fanciness and plainness.
Each character has their own unique traits and personality. While Nadeshiko is cheerful and energetic-type, Rin is a quiet-type. Despite her quietness, she is also shown to show her cute side on several occasions. It is interesting to see characters with a personality opposite to each other become friends, I love it when Nadeshiko is yelling for Rin. Aoi is a calm-type, loves to trick her friends with a made-up story while making a cheeky face, not to mention that her Kansai dialect is surprisingly cute and charming. Chiaki and Ena also have their own unique traits and personality, I do not find them to be standing out, but they are surely important to the show.
The friendship between characters is shown to develop throughout the series, the most noticeable one would probably be one of Rin and Nadeshiko. From the first episode to the end of the series, most of the main characters and club itself show some minor developments. I love how character development can work out in an anime of this genre.
However, what characters lack is their individual story. Almost no background is told about them. The story covers only a brief of their personal life besides camping, including their time with family and a part-time job. They are needed more. As mentioned in the story section, having a more character-focused story would benefit not only the story but also the characters.
🎉 Enjoyment - 9/10
I am not really a fan of slice of life anime, but Yuru Camp△ is surprisingly good, a perfect combination of a slice of life and comedy. Since Yuru Camp△ is considered to be a show of “cute girls doing cute things”, a show this type needs well-created characters, and Yuru Camp△ did it well.
As a person who loves traveling in Japan, I enjoyed this anime even not being a fan of this genre. The theme is also unique, making it much far interesting from other slice of life anime. While Yuru Camp△ may seem incomplete, but from what Yuru Camp△ has to offer is already amazing. Most importantly, Yuru Camp△ has such magnificent and relaxing soundtracks, becoming the most relaxing anime I have ever watched. In the end, I am pretty impressed.

🥇 9/10
At first glance, Tsuki ga Kirei might look like a simple love story of middle-school students, but this show has something more than just a romance story to offer to audiences. Watching Tsuki ga Kirei is like becoming a middle-schooler once again, but this time in Japan, giving audiences a chance to experience such a beautiful culture of Japan.
🎬 Story - 7/10

many other shows, the story of this show seems to be based on reality, trying to be most realistic as possible. By doing that, the story risks being too plain, however, it actually went well. Despite having calm and slow storytelling, it was not boring at all. I love how small details are being focused, the story is also being spiced up by Japanese culture, erasing almost all of its plainness. Throughout the story, there might be some irritating moments, but they ended well, so I did not mind. As for the ending, I am pretty satisfied, however, it somewhat left a story hole there.
🎨 Animation - 8/10
Tsuki ga Kirei has a watercolor art style, which is nice, matching the calm mood and tone of the show. Overall pretty high quality, but the 3D model usage on background characters is being obviously noticeable, terribly ruining the rest of the art in some scenes.
🔈 Sound - 10/10
Simply amazing and stunning. The opening and ending suit the overall mood and tone of the show, as well as insert songs, having an impact on audiences. Soundtracks are also done very well.
🕶 Characters - 10/10
According to the story, the concept is trying to be as realistic as possible. Let’s start with the character design, characters are designed to be simple, almost plain, without fancy hairstyles or colors (except Roman, probably intentional hair dyeing), which follows the concept as being realistic. Despite being plain, I find almost no character confusion.
Character personalities are understandable, as there is no reaction exaggerating. Happiness, shyness, nervousness, anger, sadness, all seem real. Some people may dislike how shy and quiet characters are, saying that boring and would not work in a relationship, but that is what I liked. It seems real, getting to see how that would actually work out.
Character development is surprisingly good. Despite having a slow storytelling, character development is greatly recognized. The relationship between characters is getting developed throughout the series without rushing. Furthermore, not only the school and romance side of characters are being told, but also their family, activities, interests, basically their personal life.
Lastly, supporting characters are also not being too bland, at the end of each episode, also in Tsuki ga Kirei Special, comedic shorts about supporting characters are included, giving a feeling that they are not being left out.
🎉 Enjoyment - 9/10
I enjoy literally almost every moment of the show. Even though there were some irritating moments, but they later were followed by somewhat satisfying ones. Things I enjoyed the most were art style, insert songs, Japanese culture, and how realistic the show is. What I did not enjoy were some cheap-made 3D character models and a hole at the ending. However, those flaws were almost nothing compared to the things that this show has to offer.
📌 Recommendations
Since this show contains many obvious characteristics of Japan and Japanese culture, it is recommended to at least understand some of the Japanese cultures prior to watching this show, especially about love, or the show may leave you confused. Lastly, if you are looking for a non-comedic romance anime, then I recommend this anime. Enjoy!
