Hosoda Mamoru Once Accepts an Offer of Haruhi Movie's Director

According to Anime!Anime!, director Hosoda Mamoru disclosed at Animation Asia Conference that he accepted an offer of the director of Haruhi Suzumiya movie. But the producers didn't let him direct it in the end.

He also said his next movie has already been under way. The script writer is Okudera Satoko ("Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo", "Summer Wars") and Hosoda wants to assign the character design to Sadamoto Yoshiyuki again.

Production I.G To Produce New Anime Titan Rain With a Singaporean Company

According to Anime!Anime!, Production I.G and Storm Lion (a Singaporean anime production company) announced at Animation Asia Conference that they will collaborate in producing a sci-fi anime movie "TITAN RAIN". Storm Lion aims at the global market by this title.

Historical Comedy Manga Tono to Issho To Be Animated

According to Natalie, Oba Kai's four-panel manga "Tono to Issho" was announced to get an anime adaptation. The detail of the anime will be given in Monthly Comic Flapper January issue.

Complaints Against the New One Piece OP Song Surge to Toei Animation

According to J-Cast, the official BBS of Toei Animation has been filled with hundreds of complaints against the new OP theme song of "One Piece". The audience resented that the new song was completely mismatched with the serious OP animation.

The new OP song "Kaze wo Sagashite" is a tie-up work with a TV quiz program "Quiz! Hexagon II" and the singers are idols and comedians. Toei Animation said it's usual to see such negative reactions when theme songs are switched. They don't plan to make any explanations to the audience and the new song is likely to be used for the next one year.

Second OVA of Quiz Magic Academy

According to Weekly Famitsu magazine Nov 19th issue, the second OVA of "QUIZ Magic Academy" was announced to be released on January 22nd, 2010. It will be bundled with the limited edition of game QUIZ Magic Academy DS ~Futatsu no Jikuseki~.

TV Series of kiss x sis Confirmed

According to Weekly Young Magazine vol.52, a new TV series of Kiss x Sis was announced. The staff and the cast are the same as those of the OVA series. The third volume of the OVA will be released on November 20th, bundled with the manga volume 5 Limited Edition.

Recap OVA of Fate/ stay night

According to Neowing, two-part recap OVA of "Fate/stay night" was announced to be released on January 22nd, 2010. The title is "Fate / stay night TV reproduction" and the 24 episodes of the TV series will be re-filmed and edited into two 60 min episodes. The OP animation will be renewed and Tainaka Sachi will sing new theme songs.

Charity Auction of Initial D's AE86

According to an online auction MOBAOKU, a reproduction of Initial D's Toyota AE86 will be put up for a charity auction. The manga author Shigeno Shuichi's autograph is written on the dashboard. The profits will be donated to the Foundation for Orphans from Automobile Accident.
