SynopsisThere is a legend that tells of how the world was almost destroyed thousands of years ago by the vampire queen after she unleashed her latent powers. Despite their efforts, the humans were unable to defeat her, and thus resorted to sealing her away until the time came that they would be powerful enough to destroy the seal and kill her. However, the humans are not the only ones after the seal. Having cast aside his kingdom and betraying his own race and the dhampirs (half-vampires), the vampire king is persistantly searching, even to this day, for where his queen has been sealed away so he may break the seal and free her before the humans do. Fearing that once the king and queen are reunited, they shall continue to destroy the world together, the humans and dhampirs hunt the king, using any method possible. (Source: Anime Source) |

I'm not too far into this manga, due to the fact that i've been reading it online and only 15 chapters have been released so far. From what i have read, i found it to be very good. There are quite a few surprising twists in just the first 15 chapters. Originally based around the Vampire king deserting his nation in order to find the queen,while being sought by the "Black Swan", It quickly turns to a story of revenge and intrigue. The action in the story so far is good, with the Vampire King leading in power, but slightly surpassed by the "Black Swan" in strength. As I finish the manga (god, knows how long that'll be), I'm sure i'll find it to be very good. read more

This manga has an extraordinary storyline. if you think of vampires, dhampires, humans AND aliens, it seems too much to be good. but to my surprise, this manga turned out to be really a masterpiece.
The characters have very profound personalities, nothing is just black-white.
The plot releases it's mystery slowly, which gives a very good vibe of curiosity and the urge to continue reading enormous.
I really enjoyed this manga, and I would recommend this as a must to read.

Yagami Light and Strauss Akabara are very similar in how they are always trying to out maneuver everyone with really well-thought out strategies. Except Strauss is also an immortal Vampire, and is powerful enough he doesn't need a book to kill people with.

Like Vampire Knight, Record of a Fallen Vampire is about vampires with more human aspects. the main characters are very similar, vampire, vampire hunter ect. and the story line is good.
