Although following different premises, both series involves gangs and yakuza. There is a noticeable amount of violent present in both series' storyline to illustrate the brutality of characters' behaviors. The MC gets themselves involved in an event that changes their lives forever. Throughout the course of both series, they also develop relationships with other characters but also faces powerful adversaries. Danger awaits in the lives as they get involved with dangerous conflict. Recommended for a mature audience interested in action/seinen.

The two stories as well as the art are done by the same mangaka. Both MC's are driven to protect the ones they love. Very unique narratives based around the strengths and intelligence of the mc's to work there way out of what seems impossible situations.

I find it similar because of it's plot and the main characters. Both of the MC involvement in yakuza's, police and other organizations are so similar. and not to mention the art looks good too!they both also start strong from the very start. but has a "character growth or development" :D *they don't have the same author and artist btw :D

First of all the MCs look very similar not only in appearance but in their personal beliefs. If you want to see a high schooler going against people of higher social standing than him for justice, with good violence, then Akumetsu is a much better alternative. If you liked Akumetsu's action though and would like to add some silly comedy, then Sun-Ken Rock is what you're looking.

Not only are these two works by the same author but they also portray a similar style in terms of their characteristics. The main male protagonist has a tough attitude and is always finding himself in the wrong place at the wrong time in compromising situations. Despite this, they fight for what they believe in and also meets a girl that they share an interesting relationship with. There is a lot of fan service and action so expect some edgy artwork. If you're into action oriented manga with tough stories, then check these two series out.

very similar art-style, I would say the comedy is similar to something like...bokusatsu tenshi dokuro chan (exaggerated reactions), as well somewhat of a taste of typical harem artstyle i.e. skip beat/ kaicho wa maid sama (where they turn into little cartoon figures). . . Sun-ken Rock takes a lot of art styles from various manga and compiles it into an original plot.

You might not see the similarities in the beginning, and even though there are definitely more differences than similarities, I had to recommend this because of my love of both manga. First, I hardly ever read shounen manga, so these manga either have an amazing plot, or just really funny. Both manga have both these traits. Both the main protagonist life seems to be going no where. Until they both meet a girl that essentially motivates them to do what they're good at. Sun Ken? Fighting. Slam Dunk? Basketball. Friendship, courage, strength, love, and motivation are big parts of both the stories. And of course,  read more

Both they have 1 woman of they lifie and bothhave op stats :) Guts every times find a way to kill his enemy, and Kitano Ken making the same :P wreck on his enemy :) In Berserk and in Sun-Ken Rock, both authors dont hesitant to show the brutality of the world [including rape cases, etc.]

Great plot, favourite characters, beautiful art style. Sun-Ken Rock is a high level fighting series with lots of great jokes and funny moments, story twists and turns, with serious drama about gang member whose life did not go the way he wanted, but that never stopped him.

Both are stories about two regular below middle-class people who accidentally get sucked into the world of crime. One is about gangs and the other about prostitution. The protagonists are kind and friendly people who have to live in a cold hearted world.

Very similar vibes. One has a yakuza setting while the other has a teenager delinquent setting. Good reads, but neither is outstanding imo. Good fight scenes.

Sun-Ken Rock is pretty much Onizuka moving to Korea and starting a gang in an M rated manga. The humor is pretty similar, and although Ken isn't as much of a loser as Onizuka, they both share some character traits, such as being virtuous fighting machines, with a perverted side.

-both have the same Ecchi-like comedy and some nude shots -both have great art -both have action whereas Sen-Ken Rock has more serious action and mafia business
reportRecommended by -Anokata
Both speak about a guy who try to help other peoples, both have a dark atmosphere. If you liked one, try to read the other.

A bunch of hot people with a blonde leader work to take over the underworld. Focus on combat other than guns to gain ground (sun ken = fists and jojo=stands). Both make you wake up feeling so horny.
reportRecommended by Capnskart
Both series have a stubborn blonde haired Japanese kid that fights many strong guys while having a connection to the criminal underworld. They also have great art with an admirable main character. While Tough's main character joins the criminal underworld to grow stronger and save his father, the protagonist of Sun-Ken Rock joins a gang because of his desire to protect those around him.

A lot of good and exciting fights Both have gangs Both have an overpowered main character

Both Manga's feature similar MCs, but that end up going in different directions. Taro Sakamoto is an ex-assassin that tries to live out his days as a normal person with his now daughter and wife. Kitano Ken, is an ex-normal person, who somehow got himself into the Mafia business. Both feature characters with strong morals and connections to the people around them, and a motive to protect those people. Kitano Ken will always preach about the strong protecting the weak, and Sakamoto will always reject killing of any sort, no matter how bad a person is. Lots of action in both of these mangas, while  read more

Sun-ken rock is very funny and has several fantastic fights, I believe that those who liked Angel densetsu will also like Sun-ken rock Sun-ken rock é muito engraçado e tem varias lutas fantásticas, eu acredito que quem gostou de Angel densetsu irá gostar também de Sun-ken rock

Delinquent manga focusing a lot on the fighting aspect, as much (if not more) as Clover does. The theme in Sun-Ken Rock is a lot more adult/seinen oriented, where Clover is very light-hearted and fun.

This manga has the same vibe. The action is crazy and the character fighting styles will blow your mind. A mix between Baki and sun-ken rock and it's amazing. Detailed and dynamic drawings and an interesting story. Must read and watch

Sun-ken Rock is the lighter and more comedic version of Wolf Guy. Ken, the protagonist of Sun-ken Rock, resembles Haguro of Wolf Guy, but Ken is much less scary, although as muscular as Haguro. And as strong as him. Both are about gangs, more or less. Not to mention both have explicit scenes. And rape.

A good man is forced to become a gangster to protect everything he loves.

Similar looking protagonists who are great fighters, both ecchi comedy action stories, and both have pretty good art, but very different plots. These two series are very similar on a number of points without being retreads of each other in any way.

If you like Sun Ken Rock check out City of Darkness. Both have gangland fights and awesome art. City of Darkness has a slightly more comicbook look to it both have great fights and great art and a cool cast of characters. Sun Ken Rock is seinen. City of Darkness is full color manhua. They are both ongoing and I think that people who read one would like the other too. Enjoy.
reportRecommended by inzaratha
Both are full of dark and disturbing shit. Although Sun-ken Rock is more light hearted both will give you an unforgettable ride through the underground of modern society.
reportRecommended by Dorped
The art is why I recommend these two. They're also mature, so they're just a bit different then seeing some dumb little blue haired girl prance around and somehow be able to fight extremely well. These are very funny realistic dramatic mangas. Honestly I thought sun-ken rock was a lot better but, I've only read 11 chapters of kenka shoubai compared to like 45 of sun-ken rock. But if you like the seriousness and martial arts (A LOT of it) then you'll like these both.

Same Autor, the drawing are identical. No monster here, but a lot of Action.
reportRecommended by FlareZero
Both are all about gangs and the underworld, have a lot of variety in character designs, and similarly "rough and muscular" sort of art (obviously different styles though). Black Joke is more international, while Sun-ken Rock is more Asia based.
reportRecommended by MortalMelancholy
If you're looking for some action and violence, then Gangsta and Sun-Ken Rock may be something to keep a keen eye on. Both series takes place in a setting where there is violence, politics, and corruption. The main characters also gets involved with local gangs that spawns rivalries with deadly consequences. There is character dynamics as well focusing on the main protagonists. Recommended for mature fans of action-drama.
reportRecommended by Stark700
Both have very strong OP main protagonists that gain followers who respect them. Both story's involve the MC's trying to take down a much bigger organization with bad intentions. Both have amazing comedy scenes with the potential to make you cry laughing. Both have amazing character design and art work.
reportRecommended by Obeythealfa
Both MC's start off alone with no influence or power but as the story progresses gains the recognition and status. Both story's have great comedy and action that keeps you wanting to read more. Both MC's get into conflicts where they have to use quick thinking and strategy to get out of.
reportRecommended by Obeythealfa
Both portray the mafia, gang, and family setting throughout the story with all the problems and situations you might expect in that way of life. Very similar characteristics with multiple characters, they also have the same feel of humor and comedic scenes. In both stories it seems to always be good vs evil in almost every conflict that accrues.
reportRecommended by Obeythealfa
Sun-Ken Rock has more comedy involved, but i think that if you liked one you will like the other
reportRecommended by msandov007
Both are stories about anti-heroes fighting criminals in the underworld of society while using less than conventional methods.
reportRecommended by AfterGlow
Both are about "good" mafia's. Both are about a protagonist not willing to join the group, but does so anyway. Both protagonist's care greatly for their friends. The only difference would be that the mafia in Katekyo Hitman Reborn is HUGE but in Sun Ken Rock, they recruit more members. Sun ken Rock is more graphic than Katekyo Hitman Reborn.
