Synopsis

Sato Tatsuhiro is a drug-addled "hikikomori" (a Japanese shut-in) who thinks a sinister organization, NHK (Nihon Hikikomori Kyoukai), is the cause of all his problems! He falls in love with a girl, Misaki, who he thinks is trying to assassinate him, but doesn't know how to talk to her or if he can trust her. The more he stay in his house watching anime porn, reading manga and doing drugs, the harder it is for him to leave. Only Misaki can keep him from rotting away in his own apartment! User Recommendations

The stories were written by the same genius. They are both quite funny, but also have a romance/drama aspect to them. The main male characters in both manga don't like reality. There are a couple differences though... In NHK the girl is chasing the guy, and in NHCE the guy is chasing the girl. NHK is relatively action-less, whereas NHCE kinda revolves around action. Even with these differences though, I get the same feel from both. If you feel compelled to read them, do so.

Both story's about a 22 years old virgin :) Have lot of funny moments, but deal with serious problems of the characters and Japanese society also.

This is one of my favorite manga and, since it had few reviews, I thought I could add a bit more of information for those who are uncertain whether to read this or not.

Well, as it says on the synopsis, this manga follows the life of a hikikomori, who thinks an organization called NHK is targeting him. (oh really?!) xD
The main character actually posseses psychological problems, such as paranoia ,which leads him to believe his life is being controlled by NHK, and all the ba... read more

Welcome to the N.H.K.
This manga is so awesome I could barely write a review on it. It almost leaves me speechless.
Let's start with the story. It's a very cute story about a hikikomori and a girl who is trying to save him from himself. The romance, and sometimes hate, between the main characters is simply hilarious. Then there's the next door neighbor who is a complete otaku and a riot. His views on society are just hilarious.
Now, the art was amazing, in fact I've read all... read more

Welcome to the N.H.K. covers a LOT of topics in today's society. What makes the story so amazing is that it injects humor and seriousness with perfect timing that it all blends so well as a whole.

We see topics like lolicon, maid cafes, suicides, ero games, etc. and blended with the more "common" plot elements like drugs, sex, perseverance, finding one's self, love and many more. What's more striking is that it does reflect society so much that you can't... read more
