Synopsis

Cane Lele was born into the fashion industry. Her mother, Ye Feii, was Taiwan's top model, and her father was also a model, until a tragic airplane crash left Lele without parents.

Therefore it is no surprise that Lele hates the industry, thinking it superficial and unnecessary. Raised by her paternal grandmother, Lele reaches seventeen before she is sucked in by her mother's sister, Ye Feihung, a fashion agent (and former model) who "convinces" the reluctant Lele to pose. Lele is averse to the whole idea, until she sees a photo shoot of popular American model Angus Lanson, and she begins to see modeling as an art form.

When Aunt Feihung's magazine editor invites Angus Lanson to a meeting of all the top fashion ambassadors, Lele is invited along and is curious to meet Angus. She does not know that Angus' twin elder brother, Eros Lanson, is secretly accompanying his brother. This obviously leads to confusion and is the start of a charming story of Lele's goals: Fashion in New York city, becoming a top model, and love?

I feel like how much I'm starving for healthy love stories, there's a dark corner in my soul that needs a bit of toxic relationships and I'm eternally glad for such mangas exist.

First things first, the art in this manga is everything! I'm can't say I'm fashion girly myself, but I'm into stories about fashion and design, and the showbiz world, and the way they're all shown in "The One" is perfect for me. It has this vintage, edgy, and totally romantic style that I'm totally obsessed with. Don't even get me started on the male characters – their gorgeous, feminine features are eye-catching ...

I have known this manhua for a few years ago, but i refused to read it because it is a manhua and i don't like long-haired guy. Maybe some of u confused why i don't like manhua, the reason is because i have known so many manhua which is cheesy and don't have a great stories/ But, after trying The One, my perception of manhua change a bit, at least now i know that there is manhua which has the same level as manga. And before i said i don't like long haired guy. But, after reading The One, i don't hate it anymore and ... i think the ML in this manga is really hot and very suitable with long hair. So, here is my honest opinion of The One

The things i like :
the story definitely a great thing about this manga, but what i love the most is the character. I love how the author makes the character looks so beautiful and mature, it makes this manhua looks even more serious. I love the growth of each character in this manga, especially Lele and Eros, they grow so much. Lele is the one who grows the most, when u look at Lele in the first chapter and compare it with the last few chapters you will definitely confused whether she is the same person. But, although she looks and act so different, we cann still find the core who makes Lele a Lele. Eros also grows so much during the series. He is a really closed and dark person at first, but he opened up his heart to Lele later on and it is so cute to see his growth. I also fucking love the relationship between Eros and Lele, they are so cute and makes the best couple ever. I think the most useless and annoying character in this manhua is Feidna, that ungrateful bitch. I know from the start and already have a feeling that she is the bitch in this manhua. Tbh, it is okay to be a bitch, but she is an ungrateful bitch, you will find this out after reading The One.

The things i don't like :
(in this part there will be a little spoiler, so u can skip it if u want)
i don't really like all the disgusting things involving sex with old people. Tbh, i am not against any sex scene, it just i am quite disgusted when the ML had to have sex with an old hag, i mean this ruins my imagination. Especially, the Angus thing, how can he have sex with an old hag when he was so young. Another thing that i don't really like is how there are so many gay relationship in this manhua. I think gay relationship appears more often than normal relationship. It makes me anxious when i read it. But, i must say the gay relationship in this manhua is sweet and romantic.

The ending (spoiler) :
I read several reviews briefly before i read the actual manhua and i regret it. Those reviews said the ending is too rushed and unexpected. It makes me scared that it won't be a happy ending for Lele and Eros. and i am scared that it will be a stupid ending. Obviously, i don't hate sad ending, it just that for this kind of manga, i realy really prefer the ending to be a happy one. Thankgod after reading the entire series i feel satisfied with the ending and i don't even think it is too rushed or anything. I read the last 2 chapters very slowly, i'm scared that i have to end this beautiful and amazing manhua.

Overall, i really enjoy reading this manhua. It is definitely the best manhua in the world. And i do think this is similar to Nana, but i love this manhua much more than Nana. Maybe because i love the character a lot more in The One than in Nana. Also, there is less sex scene and the relationship in this manhua is deeper than in Nana imo. But, that's just my thought, so it doesn't have to affect your thought. That's all about my review, it has been a long time since i review something, maybe like a month ago? And i review this because i can't contain the happiness of my soul when i read it alone.

In principle, it is presented as the story of Lele Cane in her dream of being a model, from there it escalates as more characters are included, becoming a 3-way narration: Lele, Eros and Angus. The evolution of each one, with their frictions, encounters and disagreements. It is a good idea, the execution in general gives us that perspective of fullness in how each thread was approached, my problem is that when being remembered a little more specifically how we got to that point, I notice and notice concessions that were pushed aside at convenience.
