| stealing bankai or rather i think the quincies steal any spiritual powers since that is how they are right? they absorbed spiritual powers from the environment Reishi Absorption: Although Shingiami and Quincy both use Reiryoku when fighting, they both have a totally opposite fighting style. Shinigami use the spiritual power created from their soul in conjunction with a Zanpakutō to fight against the Hollows. You can say they fight using the power within. On the contrary, a Quincy uses the Reishi in the atmosphere, and combines it with his/her Reiryoku to create weapons. They fight using the power outside. Captains wanted to use bankai so they could figure out on how quincies seal it so they could unseal with. What they did not count was that quincies do not seal bankais. They steal it. Its an extension of normal quincy powers - quincies fight by using energy of their surroundings. The VR have been shown to be able to absorb their surroundings and add it to themselves. Thus they do not seal bankais they STEAL them. He is not just immune for sake of immunity. We have already seen that "-getsu" line of swords seems to be unique and persist through kurosaki family. Do I need to remember you that back in the first days of Bleach its longest storyline, namely 6/17, lasted only 9 chapters? The pacing of Bleach is still as slow as molasses, and this chapter does not help since it was only dialogue with a plot twist at the end. |
| The first white-haired guy that was cut down, was that the officer from a few chapters ago who gave that long explanation on "why we fight the quincies"? Ayway, the chapters feel too short now. If this was a manuscript or a novel, this "chapter" would equal three lines. At least they didn't steal a bankai that we hadn't seen before... as someone already said here, there are a lot of bankais left. There are also a few vaizards, Zaraki and Yamamoto. The fight isn't over... until they steal Yamamoto's bankai >.> And didn't we predict the Bankai-stealing a long time ago? It doesn't seem like a stretch or a surprise to me that Ichigo is immune either. |

| where isUryū Ishida? This would be more interesting if its a Quincy vs Quincy fight or if Ryūken Ishida would come fight too haven't seen him for a while. As for plot progression so far, its been boring, and the Captains did not see the stealing Bankai coming so now no one will use their Bankai now. They should not fear, they can still use Kidō, unless something seals/steals that way too. |
| The 'we're gonna get raped' expression on the captains was priceless. Kubo could of included all the captain bankai releases in a single page...waste of ink but oh well. I can't wait to see Kenpachi when he comes around >:D Can't wait for the next chapter. I wonder if the lieutenants will be of any use :-/ Kubo better not be cockteasing and switchback to Ichigo's fight...I wanna see the captains without bankais getting raped! Well Byakuya might not get raped since he can use all sorts of kidos. I think there's clearly some link being made here by Kubo between how Quincy's steal the bankai and Ichigo's Tensa Zangetsu - maybe Ichigo's bankai is some kind of "original, first bankai" crap and that's why it's immune to this technique (and that's why "ban" kanji is so prominent in his bankai forms). I hope it's something more and better than that, because such a lazy and uninspired way of explaining it would suck. |

| So the Quincy are like a bunch of Amon, only instead taking away bending they've all taken away their bankai. That's not me saying anything about originality btw. I just couldn't help but make that comparison. |

Byakuya is saying that its not a seal (on quincy item). its a kanji for "BAN", implying that they took the bankai instead of just placing a seal through the item. Now that the captains lost what makes them captains,they're now on the same level as their lieutenants.And when fighting foes that completely own lieutenants,it safe to say that these fights are gonna be quicker than most expected.Yeah,I give it the rest of the summer. |

| Now that we know they steal Bankai's I get the feeling that we saw Sasakibe Bankai few chapters ago. He got stabbed by it and then sent flying to Yamamoto quarters. This might be the Manga version of the Rebellion of Swords filler in anime. All the Shinigami will have to fight their Bankai again. Soifon hates her Bankai, Byakuya knows his weakness (safe range). All of them after fight with Aizen had time to work on their weakness. They might be able to use their Bankai weakness to their advantage. Also WTH Soifon. Aren't you the sneaky type? Why go to fight in first line? Would be so much better to send someone else and then charge the rocket in some Quincy face from somewhere he doesn't expect it. If Soifon still can use Shikai it's probably better for her that way. Glasses guy get's cut in half. He was first to lift his sword on Quincy. Maybe Unohana will takeover there. People were calling that glasses guy "Aizen like" few chapters ago. Well would be funny if he was Aizen and whole sentencing to hell was an illusion. Will Yamamoto fight Quincy captain or just chat with him watching how Steinritter kill his Shinigami? Maybe some back story before big showdown of power? This chapter felt so short :( |
