This episode was just o.k. I liked the way it introduced the whole "magical girl" aspect of the show. It wasn't all like "OMG mindless fighting with loud, annoying music!". It was a bit slow, and some of the dialogue was stupid, like when Kanon said something like "Something shiny came out of his hat and it's floating around!", but it's interesting enough to keep me watching. I just hope it picks up the pace or else I'm dropping it.
I wasn’t expecting this one turns into a magical girl anime, but it seems more relaxing and fun to me. This part didn’t bother me at all since I liked mahou shoujo enough, but I worry if the next episode will have decent story.
If the Sea Maiden don't team up with the Sky Maiden, darkness will devour all the light in both the sea and the land.. Oh, boy.. ^_^;;
Kanon, the girl with a strong evil aura turns out to be the Sky Maiden which shocked the talking sea turtle. Apparently, the sea turtle is the elder who went to the sky (land) and never returned. He turned himself into a stone statue to watch over the coffin of the sealed Sedna. Well.. Not sure what Sedna is but she is divided into two evil aura entities and are sealed both on land and in the sea. Urin had broke the seal of the land one and thus, she is off to create minions and take back her other half to become invincible again.
First battle against a female octopus in the form of a humanoid.. Considering that the island was just enjoying the fireworks festival and most likely eatting takoyaki, doesn't anyone feel like vomitting now? Somehow.. She isn't the only sea creature turned into a humanoid, Sedna had created many more minions as that they will most likely appear in the upcoming episodes. Seemingly, Marin is capable of purifying Sedna minions and turning them back into their original forms.
If there weren't ecchi elements in this anime, I would get the feeling that its a scene out of Star Ocean: Second Evolution. When was the last time in which an anime features light fighting darkness? I cannot recall..
Pretty music~ Didn't expect the mahou shoujo transformations, even if they weren't long and drawn out with their own little magic theme and whatever... Some things still seem kind of inconsistent, but maybe it will get better.
Pleasant music, a literal fish-out-of-water, gratuitous amounts of ass, exaggerated comedy, a talking turtle, light vs. darkness, pseudo-tentacles, magical girl transformations, dat fight animation, and I think the mermaid in the ED's story took a knife to the bride.
This is one of the most haphazardly put together shows I've ever seen. I'm not sure how to react to this show anymore.
