DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Is it me or we see characters dying in Gintama much more often than any other shounen anime? It's quite surprising that characters that get more than one line of dialogue actually DIE. |
| I don't know, they seem to not kill all that many characters actually. In fact, I think they probably kill off less characters than your typical shounen, though can you even really call Gintama a shounen? I always though that some sort of character development, along the lines of increasing strength or skill, was required for a show to be a shounen. Sure, the manga is in shounen JUMP but still. All that said, this was a good conclusion of a very good arc. Its a bit sad, and I'm a bit more than a bit suprised, that Itou dies. Right after he saves Toshi I figured they'd be keeping him around. I guess not. Also, these folks really need to be commended for being able to transition from comedy to drama so well. I mean, this arc started with Toshi being turned into an Otaku and becomes about Itou's plot to overthrow Kondou. It can't be easy to combine Gintama's style of humor with this much gore and seriousness. |

| awesome yorozuya in shinsengumi uniforms and wow he actually died? i thought he was actually gonna survive.. but really, he took like 10 bullets from an mg all at once (nice, he deserves a medal for that or something), lost an arm, and still lived until he took a wound identical to gin, in the left shoulder lol at funeral wasnt even yamazaki's this was a great arc |

| This is the end of the Shinsengumi Rebellion arc, but oh man. Loser otaku had never been so loser until Hijikata got reduced to one. Maybe it's close to home (with Milo being so ingrained with Singapore culture and all), I totally cracked up at the Nilo reference for Yamazaki (who plays badminton, also another deeply-ingrained part of Singapore sporting culture) at his funeral. |

| I liked this arc a lot and yeay for Gintoki in the Shingensumi uniform :) Bittersweet ending for Itou but it was good. Gintoki was so cool (but he's always the hero ^^) and there was lotsa action :) |

| Definitely my favorite arc so far. I have no idea why this arc isn't as popular as Benizakura I felt it had a lot more meaning to it and I love how these serious arcs add so much more to these characters. I also approve of how Itou's death was handled. |

| Wow this is an awesome arc! Saw so many novelties, including Otaku Hijikata and Yorozuya in Shinsengumi clothing! So Hijikata still has that sword with him... I suppose this means that there will be times in the future when he'll relapse back to Otaku Hijikata? |

| That was an amazing ending I daresay. Itou's bond scene was very beautiful and symbolic of the bond all of them share. Something happened in space while this was all going on hm i'm guessing that'll be the main arc of this season. Very good way to start off the fourth season! |

| Is it me or all Gintama arc are always awesome? Itou died in the samourai way. It's the best honor they could do to him. I like Bansai, de gozaru. ''Yamazaki funeral'' was hilarious xD Hijitaka seem still possessed by that otaku ghost :P |

| Great (and sad) ending to the arc. Itou's end was touching, especially when he was surrounded by the Shinsengumi. I actually ended up stalling Gintama around 2 episodes into this arc last year for no reason other than other things distracted me and I forgot to go back to it. Picking it back up, I was concerned I wouldn't really get into this arc because I'd stopped halfway through and it'd been so long, but this threw away any doubt really. I loved it just as much as I did last year. |

| Well thankfully Itou is still alive. Gintoki <3, when he took down the helicopter. Damn, poor Kondo crying. T_T So it's pretty much confirmed he'll die not as a traitor but as a friend. ;_; Dem FEELS. Such a sad episode T_T This arc has so many feels T^T Way too sad...... I hope the golden light will heal Itou. What a great arc .it's make me sad that I want to cry and at the same time it makes me laugh (at the end). |
