| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- The artwork seems a little bit old style but I love the OST so far. Haven't seen OVA yet though but I'll just jump right into this anime series. The first episode was a lot more violent than I had thought though. Damn, that dude got mauled by the elders. Life sure is hard in this anime so far.. |

| The subs are not 1/2 bad but darn the dub is horrific. the overall story seemed a bit dark for my taste. The art style was good but overall I wound up dropping it after only the first ep. |
| Nice! A piece of Rumiko Takahashi that I know nothing of! I'm gonna look at the series with keen interest. The first episode was pretty good and I loved the dark athmosphere! |

| The hero's face surprised me a bit, but everything else seemed close enough to Takahashi's style. Strange based on the production year of this animation. The story was a good introduction to the myth explored here. What bothers me is that it seemed to be quite lightened in term of graphic violence, compared to what I remember of the manga: the blood looked strange, even a little cut couldn't be shown... 3.5/5 |

| A human can gain eternal life by eating mermaid flesh, and a mermaid can become young again by eating flesh of a human that eated mermaid flesh that's pretty fucked up if you think about it. The OST was pretty good. |
| Opening not bad kinda put you in mood for this type of anime , i liked inuyasha let's see this one  so he ate of mermaid meat and the girl too , Mana looks almost like kikyo |

| It was an okayish start. The premise is interesting and I would like to see a mystery adventure with folk tale elements, maybe a bit of romance too. The production on the other hand isn't really complementing the story well. |

| The first episode really makes ya question whether to watch it or not but i decided to keep going, hopefully it improves, seems dark but the start of this episode was beyond lame |
| I was right about the animation. It doesn't look nearly as good as the first OVA. I kinda wish this Remake was made just a year earlier so it could've used cel animation instead of the early digital animation. Oh well. The nudity and the graphic violence also seem to be significantly toned down compared to the OVAs which makes sense but is still a bit disappointing. I do like that the voice actors are the same though. The OST also sounds good. The first episode properly introduced us to Mana. Her backstory's wild. |
| Great opening to the series, I liked that they started with Nana's backstory, the art-style is different but it's not bad, I did not expect the elder one to be a human, it's bad to become immortal when you're old, you stay old for eternity. |
