| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I feel sorry for Jean quite a bit because of his friend Marco's death. RIP Marco you will be missed ;.; Episode felt somewhat slow for me. Well the OST is pretty decent though like always. Oh Jean ;.; LOL @ the horse. All dem feels this episode. I'm glad Jean is starting to change his ways though. RIP MARCO. I actually liked him quite a bit since I enjoyed his efforts against the Titans.  |

THAT PREVIEW The episode itself was fine enough, did what it needed to do. I kind of wish that the events of the preview happened at the end of the episode but what are you going to do. |

| Finally the interesting part is here :D So cool. ANd finally they stopped the recaps? I hope so. Poor Marco, but thanks to him Jean found his reasonings. That blue scene with the crowd leaving was beautiful. The feelings in this episode. So beautiful! Bertolt looking back at Annie, d'aww! xD |

| Last things first, this time - looks BETTER than the coloured manga sketches - real catchy, detailed, and the choice of balancing the anatomical appearance with white - excellent. Job well done. A note for those who care to finish the series, watching only or firstly the anime: each squad in the Scouting Legion receives an instruction and a drawing of the tactical plan, about which Erwin speaks in the assignment day (and we saw him working on in the previous episode when he was talking to Mike). To avoid confusion, keep in mind the schemes of the squad spread. Of course, I knew what Jean would say, but I have to give it to Wit that they properly conveyed the emotional drama behind the assignment decisions, especially in Jean - who, as you know, used to consider himself pragmatic in finding place within the MP for the benefit of having it easy. Marco's friendship and surprising demise, changed him - this still is actually one of his "nightmares":  I don't know if it can be seen clearly, but the soldiers eaten here are some of his other comrades - Connie, Eren. Point is that Jean apparently cares about them, even more after Marco's death. Hence, his plead to Eren in the end of the episode (albeit partially presented), pretty much clear on following Marco's advice how to be (in fact) wise and useful. Other than that, these two kids were supposed to appear later (or not appear at all) - I can see where this will go -_-; Anyway, let me have two innocent smiling faces for now: ... And the Scouting Legion is out of Wall Rose into the now-titan territory, on a mission to Shiganshina, where all things started. 5/5 Two more things: Given the improved backgrounds (DAT HQ, for example), the scenes from the OP with Armin should be from the village A. The animation is stable in being good, so keep it UP, if possible, and till the end :) |

| What is this! No recap at all in this episode! WHY?????? /jk This ep is practically Jean episode which is really good. Really faithful to manga with nice added scene plus great OST used especially the piano piece. Woah I really get a goosebumps at the added part where they wear the scouting robes & then they show Marco 'wear' it........ which is saddening since he will never have time to use it at all ;_ ; Gonna comment more after watching the sub version. |

I think it's Eren. Well, at least I thought it was him - the hair doesn't look like Mikasa's. Agree for Sasha in the middle, but oh well, case in point - the 104th Training Corps fellows. Connects nicely with Riko's extras, when they were running on the wall, and she was beating sense into Eren what failing his mission means - the death of her fellow soldiers she had shared a lifetime with in the Garrison. |

| The music in this episode seemed better than ever. That piano arrangement of The Reluctant Heroes stood out to me the most. Man, amazing episode. Really, really excited to see the next one. |

| I'm actually really shocked that the anime didn't show one of the most important scenes in the series regarding the titans. I really hope they show it because it's very important to the plot, humanity and certain other things. To be honest, Jean is probably one of the best characters when it comes character development in the series. He really developed from a delusional human and had to see the realities of the titans, also including the talk he had with the other trainee who encouraged him.I think he's the most balanced character. He understand the weak because he once was and the strong since he was the top 10 among the graduates. |

| Damn R.I.P Marco, we don't even know how he died or when he died, it just makes things more depressing, and I couldn't take it when they showed him with the cape on ;_; I really like the way they presented this episode, and it's good to see Jean start changing as well, also that almost everyone joined the Scouting Legion, except for Annie... But judging by THAT preview, we're going to start a new arc, and it's going to be epic :3 |

| Armin knew Eren (and therefore Mikasa) would go all the way, so he had to start thinking of his decision much earlier than Jean-tachi. I thought Annie might go further, but maybe she doesn't have a strong enough reason to like Eren-tachi. Ahh I got teary-eyed when everyone was making their choice. So brave. T_T More stayed than I thought would. Eren has so much riding on his shoulders... I'm super excited to see what happens in the future! |
