"Someday we'll definitely...fill every seat in this auditorium!"

- Best quote from Honoka right there.

Damn, I almost teared up when the auditorium is empty, until the girl with glasses came and all future members went to the concert. That's right girls, never give up! It's just the start of it all.

Seems like the three first years are forming an idol group.

I saw it coming, I really did, but when they opened the curtains and no one was there.... ouch, I felt so bad. Oh god my heart.

It had an optimistic end, but man, that moment had more affect on me than any of the forced melodrama in Kotoura-san, good job Love Live.

That concert was great. CG was still a little iffy but blended well with normal animation This is the way musicals should be done, with lots and lots of songs xD

Bah, why the hell do they think that using such abnormally high pitched voices is a good idea? Don't get me wrong: I am not foreign to seiyuu pitches, and how high they can go. However, that glasses girl (who looks trashy, might I add) and silver haired idol (don't care what her name is; if she's worth knowing I would know her name) sound like someone chipmonked their already high pitched voice.

Bah. On the plus side, I liked the music and visuals. Black twin-tailed tsundere loli looks like she'll be my favorite. But of the 3 current idols, Mio 2 takes the cake. The other two are ****-tier idols.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have ourselves a critic. Judging anime idols must be a prerequisite for being the next Simon Cowell.

^ this, but I have to agree that Mimori as Umi-chan's Seiyuu has the best singing voice so far. I can tell that she is suppressing her singing to be in the same tune with others. Not to say others are bad, but Mimori's vocal ability is definitely better. If I were Simon Cowell, I would pick her :D

That was a very nice episode. Shame they didn't have a big audience at first, but I know they'll do better later on. Very nice performance regardless. My opinion of this show has turned around somewhat despite the fact that I still don't have a lot of care for any of the characters.

It's a musical, not a drama so I don't care much as long as it keep being cheerful, care-free and have good musics.

this episode was so cute (´ω`♡)even though every other episode from here on out is gonna be cute. oh well, it works for the show. and their song was nice, even if i'm not an idol fan. umi's singing-voice is really great even though she was the one who was worried the most. she's definitely my fav ♡ (even though i love honoka and kotori as well)

I, as well, didn't expect the auditorium to be filled completely but for it to be utterly empty was a surprise to say the least. You can imagine how happy I was when the girls decided to keep performing, not letting their effort go to waste. A sweet episode with nice animation being shown during the performance (I expect no less from Sunrise).

Are there going to be more girls singing in the idol group - or is it just going to be those 3?

Anyway, who do you guys think is the best or worst singer? I loved Umi's voice, but, on the other hand, Kotori's voice was terrible. It sounds so childish.

So far the director is doing a good job.

Honoka is energetic, and bit clumsy, but she shows a lot of energy and optimism. I really admire her for that. That's the start of their new idol adventure, and I'm gonna have fun watching them go through hardships and fun moments.

Go girls!

I figured they might fail or something and that will show their true determination, but it was still saddening anyway. Still, the performance (for the few that watched it) was great, as if it wasn't their first performance. It sounded great, and I really liked the choreography. I thought they would fill the whole episode preparing for the concert, but I'm glad it wasn't so. Interested to see what happens next.

I really enjoy their song. You know it's a good idol show when you enjoy the opening and their first serious song.

Too bad about the auditorium, I figured they'd have maybe gotten ten random people that weren't in the opening but no, not even some stock face characters. But, ground up. Can't wait for the next episode.

I think the animation was better than the 3D. It looked atrocious. Well I did not like it. In general 3D is kind of lame. It’s a easy way out of effort in general. So I kind of liked when they switched from 3D to anime and all.

Back then you go to Macross the first movie and the Frontier, don’t get me wrong each series has its power points but to the most all know Macross the first movie took much more effort in drawing it than using any computerized stuff. Suffice to say this all is part of my rant. If anyone also noticed the 3D jumped by over 50% usage in series this season and who knows how much more will be used.

That being said I still think the 3D is killing the anime world. Somewhat. I must admit that UMI in the following,

Got over exaggerated but exposed nicely in terms legs.

3D(u cant call that 3D...) CG is lame n that is why i drop other similar series, and i still think CG is lame in this anime. but that doesnt made any different to me now, i m hooked, thanks to the good direction of this anime.

p.s. i would have seriously drop this series if the auditorium was actually full with audiences

umm no. This isn't your ecchi anime, if you want exposure go watch some queen's blade or something..

Anyways this was a great episode.
I felt bad when nobody showed up, but later on they started coming, even though it was a very few of them. And what it looks like to be the future members of U's, minus the 2 girls that were helping out.

It was a great performance for it to have been their first live concert. Which means they are really talented. It sure makes me nervous for them, and then happy for them, which means the anime has gotten my full attention.

Love it. And yeah I agree, the outfits were cute!
Well looking forward next episode!

If only their school had boys.
They would have fill the room just to see them in their short skirt idol outfits.^_^
Still though kind of strange no one else got interested from all those brochures.
It's not like they would have waste much time to simply go and see a song.

Of course they will be more girls singing, didn't you see the op?

Japanese seems to like those silly high pinch voices for some reason though. Just look at the craziness around Miku from vocaloid which in all honestly her voice is terrible close to a good singing voice like the one playing Umi for example. And yeah Umi seems to have the most powerful strong voice.

Is it just me, or do half of the parts of their dances look like MMD?

When it gets to a long shot (wide shot) or extreme long shot (at any angle), it seems to use some kind of MMD program.

Example of an iDOLM@STER MMD-ish thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zW52Berp0aM
