The make out scenes seemed highly forced and cheesy. Plus the yaoi and yuri shit came out unexpectedly how else do you think viewers were to react? Replace this with regular heterosexual relationships and I would still be cringing at the fact that these came out of no where. If the scenes were actually done well and fit into the plot better I might actually enjoy it. I just hope the rest of the anime is good after this episode. |

| Oh i was well aware of the fact that the society used sexual activity as their stress relief and that their society probably accepts homosexuality as a way of birth control. But I also remember the main character specifically stating that humans aren't bonobos and decided not to have sex with that one guy on the tree. Despite this I still feel that the yuri/yaoi scenes were a bit unnecessary. I understand that the goal was to show the viewers that this society's view on sexuality differ greatly from our own. I also understand that they use it as a tool when faced with stress..But at this point it appeared more like experimentation rather than a tool for stress relief. No dire situations were occurring in their lives at this time. When things do start to get serious later on in the show they never resort to these sexual acts again. Overall anime is great though so to anyone that didn't like this episode I can assure you that there are no more yaoi/yuri scenes. |

| the amount of homophobia in this thread is very surprising. maybe it's because everyone who didn't bat an eye at that scene like me didn't bother coming here. but seriously. are we still that homophobic that it actually bothers people to watch a 5 second anime scene of guys kissing? as a straight male i can't comprehend how that bothers anyone. also gonna add that showing the bond between satoru and shun and saki and maria does become important later in the story and is not at all just thrown in there. you wouldn't understand until you watch the rest but it is important to note that satoru loves shun in more than a childhood friend way later in the story. same with saki and maria. |

| I'm surprised so much of the discussion centers around the sexual elements. We were told some chapters ago that this society had modified itself so that any conflict resolution centered around sex/love. So it's not surprising that at age 14 their hormones send them into overdrive. All throughout the episode I was wondering "what the hell happened when they returned?" so I would have gone bananas if they hadn't answered that question. Their society scares me is all I have to say after getting our answer. About my only complaints are that the animation was so poor for the most part of this episode and the most powerful TK user actually sneaked a peek up beautiful Maria's skirt. That was a bit unnecessary I thought. |

In seriousness though, this episode was just way too slow paced, and... well... dull. seriously, nothing happened. Major disappointment after how grand the previous episode was. This is why I hate timeskips in anime. |
