Added another script.
This time one from my "dedicated" collection. "Dedicated" because this collection is made purely for myself. This one was made cause I sometimes pause anime and browse MAL people page for answer a question: "Where the hell I heard that voice?" and large voice acting roles doesn't help.
By filtering I got better overview of Who/Whom and Where ^_^
I added it because maybe for someone it will be useful.

New entry:
MAL Search Filter

MAL search doesn't have 'exclude your anime list' button (Or maybe it's really deep hidden because I couldn't find it :/) so search results always include your anime list entries. This script just simply hides them. Funny, writing this script took less time than uploading it and writing this post :)

@DeathFire; I've never been able to get your user timeline to work. It shows it, but it's blank

@Bastvera; I love all yours ^^, they're so helpful. Is their a way to have the checkbox be checked as default?

I don't think mine deserves it's own thread ( unless more people have commands they wish to post ). It's very simple, but very helpful IMO:

Edit: Moved to ubiquity thread

Not without messing with code but I will put new versions of all scripts in this week so if you tick some of checkboxes to On and some to Off scripts will remember that.

In own thread is always easier to spot :-) And maybe that will encourage ppl to write and share their own creations (yee, right I dream to much or maybe it just lack of sleep :-P)

I have more scripts than listed in this topic but for now I am unsure if I should public them :-) plus I am occupied by RL stuff and different unRL things *waves to DeathfireD* so I lack free time :P

One thing about all of these user scripts, if we are going to be doing a lot of them as a MAL community, I would like to try and figure out a way that can allow our scripts to all remain compatible while being easy to maintain.

Layer the DOM with something familiar:
In order to prevent site changes from making a big difference, I think it would be a good idea for greasemonkey coders to create a low level script that will run prior to other scripts and will modify the DOM so that it remains compatible and, in some cases, is easier for userscript writers to work with. (We could also create out own custom jQuery based Object Model in addition to this.)

I'm not sure about the performance implications of this.

Commiting MAL userscripts to a standard:
But, if possible, I would like to reach some consensus here so that people will be able to use multiple different userscripts without issue.
This includes common issues such as:
- avoiding name collisions for shared objects
- improving performance by sharing public information (list data, for example)
- making sure that everyone respects the low layer script so that the DOM is as we would expect it to be

(I personally plan on releasing a userscript in the future that will allow users to modify settings of the site easily. It will take on an object oriented approach and is planned to alter the DOM to make it more manageable. I came up with this prior to noticing this thread, and this script will include some similar functionality to things mentioned here.)

Data Storage:
If possible, I would also like to add persistent data storage to these scripts that is managed at the lowest level and is cross-compatible with all browsers. (Ie, we can drop the GM API and instead overload the GM functions, if they don't exist, with cookie manipulating functions.)

If anyone has any advice on this, these are the only solutions I could come up with:
- Offsite data storage. This requires our own server that can scale to handle MAL's traffic... but it also allows for access to their settings from any computer.
- Cookie Data storage - Not completely persistent when a user can lose their settings when they remove all cookies. They also have a limited size.
- Flash Cookies - Similar to above but they are bigger and it is much rarer for users to remove flash cookies.

Right now I'm leaning towards flash cookies with an offsite data deposit. This data deposit would store simple xml files, encrypted, offsite and only update the offsite deposit occasionally, such as once a day and only when changes are made or a settings cookie is not found, as a means of backing up their settings.
The settings would have two categories for each script. "Public settings", which allow for data sharing as noted above, and "Private settings" which we could trust to be exclusive and secure to our own scripts.

Opinions? Ideas? Practical experience? Best practices? Feasibility? etc. etc.

For things as small as just adding a simple link to a page or hiding/changing elements, I don't think script writers need to go to the extent that your describing lol. Looking at the above submissions I can only see a few that could possibly follow your approach. We'll see what the others think about this.

Well, the thing is that I plan to write some... very encompassing scripts... which could mean breaking anything that relies on specific elements being as MAL originally created them.

(For example, my ignore user script breaks your gender script on the forums. D: )
This is especially important on MAL where I plan to be doing... substantial... DOM reconstruction. (Elimination of style="" attributes, introduction of more definitive css classes, introduction of more semantic markup including extra encapsulating DIVS, completely replacing some pages to save user bandwidth and time, etc.)

Naturally I don't want my scripts breaking everyone else's scripts. D:

Adding a link - maybe okay depending on how they transverse or select from the DOM. Hiding or changing elements? Will become especially difficult if they're running one of my scripts. D:

Kinds of scripts I'm planning, or have already released, include:
- Ignore user script for the forums
- DOM/Glitch fixing/data storage management script (from which most of my scripts will be based)

Of course, I'm not saying people have to implement their own script but... they may need to anticipate whether the DOM script is installed to remain functional. Of course, my script will drop a universally identifiable object into the page that will allow other scripts to test for its presence and change selectors/transversing as necessary... It's unfortunate that MAL's DOM wasn't better designed in the first place. D:

If there's a way to test to see if your scripts are installed I think that's all that really matters...at least for me anyway. If you end up giving the elements I remove new names then I'll just use a switch statement to remove/add the appropriate elements.

I'm liking your ignore user script idea. Never really thought about doing that haha. Are you planning to also ignore quotes of that person as well? Would make sense to do that too.

Script Summary: This script adds four radio buttons (All, TV, Movie, OVA & Special) that allows you to show just one type of anime at a time. e.g. if you click on the "Movie" button, it will show you only the movies, and hide TV series, OVAs and other stuff. V1.1: Added score and progress buttons also. V1.2: Buttons are draggable. V1.3: Added airing/not airing buttons.

MAL Top List Highlighter
http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/169670

Filters/highlights the top list based on some anime list (the last anime list you viewed). Shows status and rating of items on the top list, also highlights completed/watching animes with a grey background. Can make it reload the currently used anime list, switch to your list if no list or someone else's list is loaded. Can make it hide completed animes. When "list switching" is disabled, then it doesn't switch to someone else's list when you visit their anime list. Also can enable automatic loading of items from next pages (infinite scrolling).

Edit: Forgot to include link. D'oh.

Here's a slightly edited version: http://greasyfork.org/scripts/5641

BBCodes for MAL
It's a slightly edited version of this script (mirror 1, mirror 2) by al_exs Not to be confused with BBCode for MAL which is similarly named but had completely different purpose (edit: a version with lenny face!)

MAL Ignore Sub-Boards
Allows you to hide series discussions from anime and manga sub-boards on recent posts page
Alternative version: MAL Hide Series in Recent Posts
Same as above, but hides all sub-boards by default

MAL Show Less Reviews & Recs
Restricts maximum number of reviews and/or recommendations on anime/manga entries to two (edit: using Adblock as explained here is a more flexible way to do it)

I noticed that when you choose "Remove" type, it doesn't remove anything. I did a very minor fix which repairs that, here's the edited version: My Anime List Filter
Note: Not compatible with Realign MyAnimeList Airing / Not Yet Aired / Publishing

MAL Default List Order
Changes links so that anime and manga lists are sorted by a score given by default, except when the order is given already

MAL European Date Format
Converts MM-DD-YY date format to DD-MM-YY and 12 hours time format to 24 hours (edit: partially outdated by one of the changes in MAL that converted dates, but is still useful in some places)

MAL title selection fix
Are you tired that whenever you want to select an anime title, "Ranked #" is selected along with it? Then this script is for you!
Note: Not compatible with Anime torrent search links

MAL Status to Episodes Focus
Jumps cursor to the number of episodes or chapters after you selected the status

MAL Hide Club Relations
Hides anime, manga and character relations in clubs

MAL counter for Profile and Blog
Adds a counter that shows how many characters are left to the limit while editing profile or blog entries

MyAnimeList (MAL) Hide User Posts
A duplicate of this script (mirror) by rainulf with a minor fix that makes it work again after recent change in MAL code that increased the number of posts to 50 per page (edit: alternative) (edit: is reported to cause JavaScript problems for some Firefox users, which is not confirmed by other users. It's not anything unsafe in either case, just quote doesn't work etc. Please tell me if you encounter any problems with it)

MAL Remove Additional Profile Lines
Reverts a recent change in MAL that added lines above and below the links section below the profile picture

Restore Old MAL Menu
Combines "Anime Search" and "Manga Search" links with top menu tabs back, just the way it used to be before. Edit: restores "Fansub Groups", renames "My Page" to "Profile" and makes it clickable again, restores "Panel"

MAL Hide non-Japanese voice actors
Hides non-Japanese voice actors from show page (edit: outdated by one of the updates in MAL). Adds all Japanese voice actors not displayed on show's main page

MAL Plus in the Recent Updates
Watching only a couple of series and tired of having to go to your list every time? You can update the progress right in your profile's Last List Updates now

Realign MyAnimeList Airing / Not Yet Aired / Publishing
A slightly edited version of this script (mirror) by Yomi that puts airing status to the same position regardless of the title length
Note: Not compatible with My Anime List Filter

MAL See All Discussions
Replaces "More discussions" with "All discussions" on anime pages

Anime torrent search links
A duplicate of this script that adapts it to the recent change in MAL code
Note: Not compatible with MAL title selection fix

Two suggestions though:
1. Consider adding "@grant GM_getValue" and "@grant GM_setValue" to metadata block as they became indispensable as of Greasemonkey 2.0.
2. Consider merging staff positions in the same anime series. For exmample, Akiyuki Shinbou served as both Director and Animation Check in Bakemonogatari but those two entries are not merged.

MAL Genre Filter for Anime Lists v1.0 (October 25, 2014)

Description
Filters animelists by genre. All anime entries without tags will be set to a comma separated list of genres to enable filtering. Warning: has functionality that permanently deletes all current tags when used.

How to use
Before filtering:
1. Click "Populate tags" and wait for all genres to be added to the tags. You will have to click "Show/hide tags" to see the tags/genres unless you changed "INIT_HIDE_TAGS" in the code to false. It is set to true by default because I rarely filter the anime, and all the genres take up a lot of space.

Filtering:
1. Make sure the genres are shown in the "Tags" column. If they aren't, click "Show/hide tags".
2. To filter by a genre (e.g. Fantasy), click it.
3. To add a genre to the filter (e.g. Fantasy + Adventure), click it.
4. To stop filtering, click "Clear filter".

Remove all tags:
1. Same procedure as "Before filtering", but click "Clear tags" instead. This will remove everything in the "Tags" column.

Please note that this script overwrites the Tags column in your anime list. Clicking "Populate tags" will replace all empty tags entries with their respective anime's genres. Clicking "Clear tags" and then "OK" when the warning shows up with clear all tags (well, technically it will clear all non-empty tags, resulting in all tags being empty).

TL;DR useful if you don't use the tags column anyway, or want to add all genres to anime you haven't added tags to yet.

Here is the script that converts old userscripts links to the userscripts-mirror automatically:
// ==UserScript==
// @name Fixes all userscripts links to the new host automatically
// @include http://myanimelist.net/*
// @grant none
// @run-at document-end
// ==/UserScript==

for (var i=0, links = document.evaluate("//a[contains(@href, 'userscripts.org')]", document, null, XPathResult.UNORDERED_NODE_SNAPSHOT_TYPE, null), len = links.snapshotLength; i < len; i++) {
  var userscripts = links.snapshotItem(i);
  userscripts.textContent = userscripts.textContent.replace(/https?:\/\/userscripts\.org/,'http://userscripts-mirror.org');
  userscripts.href = userscripts.href.replace(/https?:\/\/userscripts\.org/,'http://userscripts-mirror.org');

Hello o-o. I have a few things to share:

1) Add Friends Statistics to Main Page. Adds your friends score to the main page so you don't have to go to the stats tab:

2) Split PTW List. Makes Anime Stats a bit more indicative, telling you how many anime havent aired yet. Shades that part of the graph darker:

(in this case, 43 anime have not aired)

3) This ones pretty crude, and has a niche purpose, but I suppose I'll leave it here incase anyone ever comes looking for something like this: Find Missing Entries. This script will open every MAL Entry that is not on your list. It does so by iterating the ~290 pages of Just Added entries on MAL -- It takes a couple minutes to do so.

I have a couple other scripts as well, but I dont think any of them are worth enough for a mention here.

Really simple one to hide supporting roles on the people page

// ==UserScript==
// @name Myanimelist people main roles only
// @version  1
// @grant    none
// @include https://myanimelist.net/people/*
// ==/UserScript==

let divs = document.getElementsByClassName('spaceit_pad');

for (let x = 0; x < divs.length; x++) {
    let div = divs[x];
    let content = div.innerHTML;
    if (content.includes('Supporting')) {
      div.parentNode.parentNode.style.display = 'none';
    }
}

I am not sure it was designed to work with the modern style designs (templates), sorry
