Differently from the "block user" feature found in the profile/privacy menu (which just prevents them from contacting you), the ignore user feature would hide all their posts and threads on the forum.

It completely erases the user off the forum. Aka, you can't see them. It works when you're offline too (Not sure if the other ones does). Only downside would be that it won't take into account the Post count of the ignored user posting. And, didn't you post this userscript on threads not long ago? Not sure why you're even saying that now.

Personally, I like it better. If I still see the user's name on the forum, I'll be tempted to click on the expand button compared to the other script.

Edit: Crossed off the downside. I was wrong. It works perfectly fine.

That might be better if you want to erase someone but there's always times where I might have to expand an ignored user's posts because it's relevant to the topic so I like having their post there smaller. And offline? You mean signed out? I don't see why the other one wouldn't do it too, it's connected to your browser and not your account.

Most likely not, I only know of the first one.

Oh, wow. This is better, for the reason you mentioned. Thanks for sharing!

I don't see the post count though, so what did you mean by that? I think there is a bit of added white space in place of the hidden post, but I'm not sure.

Edit: Combining it, with ignore user, takes care of the quotes.

Maybe he's talking about the post number aka the number at the top right of each post.

Naw, what I meant was that it brought posts ahead of you and shortened their #post down, but it doesn't actually do that. Idk why I thought it did that. I must've had other ignore scripts on as well to conflict with it or I was just tired when I was testing with it. So forget I said that, it works fine.

Because it was broken by recent change in MAL code, here is a fixed version: http://greasyfork.org/scripts/8806-myanimelist-mal-hide-user-posts
(Don't forget to delete the broken userscript first)

You can use an adblocker for this, it's just that simple.
There is such thing as shit taste. Only idiots think that every "work of art" should have the same value.

Perfect, just like I said! +)
You can easily rework it to hidin' only user's posts (just put specific code instead of username only), I just don't need it and too lazy to look into this problem just for curiosity only.
P.S. Sorry for the late reply, MAL's e-mail notifications screwin' around again. >_<

And I don't feel like wading through thousands of posts for that worthwhile thing. And many users on here don't have a chance of that, especially the trolls.

Damn you, it bothers me, so I looked into this and finally found a solution:
Put "/profile/username" and set "Remove tables with text", and:

This way it hides only posts by ignored user, but not others' posts with his username. The only difference: previews method completely hides posts (you need to look at posts count to realize where ignored post is), while with new method you can clearly see it from the start.
Happy now? +)

In a way it works even better than that userscript
