| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I have to admit that this first season of Fate Zero was blissful. This episode with no doubts got me smiling at Caster for the beating he was due. For all the kids he murdered, nothing is better than his own death and that of his servant. Having said that, the episode was amazing. That’s apart from the action and emotions within it. I really wish to have talked more in this series but alas time is limited. However, it was very pleasurable to read much comments in each episode thread. We even had a bitchy session in between episodes 10 and 11, whom I agree to certain extents. Overall this series compromises nothing but pure art that is nicely done in the most part of this first season. Furthermore the emotions and actions were fluid and flawless first time on TV. Rin along with the rest of the cast were splendid. Rin shined the most in loli form but Rider as an intro was the powerhouse of the cast. Caster was plain disturbing but that’s OK we need fucked up people like him to make things interesting. Berserker was also impressive to me. The emotional toll this produced towards was incredible. I find as good as Penguindrum was in its own genre. Therefore my rating is none other than 10/10 nothing less nothing more. The music was amazing! The characters were amazing! The art was amazing! The emotions were EPIC! Irisviel was EPIC! Waver with Rider were EPIC. Saber VS Berserker was EPIC. Sakura was EPIC just from being animated as a kid. Need I add more that SFX were EPIC! Well it all rings EPIC so it’s a 10 for me all the way. Now how much EPIC that I did not list was EPIC to you all? PS: This truly was Feast of the Kings! It was perfect for the holidays! |

| Man it ended as I expected. What a way to end ufotable, making us thirst for the next season with an ending like this. If one had not seen the previous episodes, one might pity Ryuunosuke at the start but damn I feel totally disgusted. There should be a side story on Ryuunosuke's childhood, would be a good way to teach kids how NOT to turn out like such a fucked up person. I haven't read the novels in awhile but I noticed they left out how Rider pointed out he was shorter than the Persian dude. I thought that was quite funny and should be kept but I guess it's due to time constrains. The conversation between waver and rider seriously made me feel admiration for rider (despite being a fictitious representation). Ufotable certainly portrayed him well and I have to hand it to his VA too for fitting the character to a tee. McRib said: Shit, it's already over? These past 13 weeks sure did fly. | Epic episode as always, and i agree with Yumekichi11, 10/10. Im expecting the BD now to see if the score can be more high (11/10 perhaps ? :D) The only thing that looks wierd in the episode was saber running in the water, i was expecting something more human-like, but that's ok. RELEASE THE KRAKEN !!! I love that creature, much better than that shitty sea stars. And Merry Christmas for everybody ! |

| Crazy pair (crazy master and crazy servant) are really funny in this ep. until the end, so everyone vs. the crazy servant next season. Interesting conversations between tall king servant and Namikawa-san's master. |

| It's interesting to see what's going on in Caster's and his Master's heads and I'm astounded how innocent Ryuunosuke appears like when talking about his mindset, his behaviour almost appears childish when disregarding his misdeeds. I really like how the father-son like relationship between Waver and Rider is explored more as it gives us a better understanding of what their motivations and hopes are thus adding more depth to their characters. On another note, I found the scene when Ryuunosuke was talking to Caster from the bridge over the large distance extremely hilarious. |

| Great episode! Now we have to wait 4 months later T-T Ufotable has done a great job with Fate/Zero so far. However, I'm still bothered by the cuts so I think I'll wait until I watched the uncut version (whenever that's coming out)..then give it a score. I know I shouldn't be so bothered by the cuts since they do have time constraints, but it still bothers me no matter how much I tell myself not to :| If I were to rate this cut version, I can only give 8.5/10 at most. Which is much lower than I wanted to rate. I'll also probably avoid re-reading Fate/Zero LN just so that I can enjoy the 2nd part more. Anyhow, enough of my complaints. Here are my overall thoughts: -The overall animation for Fate/Zero has been VERY good most of the time. Few funky parts in a couple episodes. I really really hope they improve the animation for the Kings' Feast part ^^ Because that's one of my top favorite parts from the LN. But anyhow, the fights were excellently animated. -The way they handled most characters were spot on. So great job to the seiyuu! :) I think the best seiyuu among the whole cast are probably: Ryuunosuke (Akira Ishida) and Gilgamesh (Tomokazu Seki). Probably missing someone else, but anyways these two were very remarkable in their roles. In addition, I think they might need to flesh out Kiritsugu's character a little more, but they might do that in the uncut version so I'll hold back judgment until then. I was going to say the same for Kirei, but I think they managed to flesh out his character decently well in the later episodes. Oh and I'm glad that I'm no longer annoyed by Rider's voice (I was in the first...and second episode?) :D -As for music, I think this is probably one of the weakest points of this show. Not saying that Yuki Kajiura's music is awful, but there is only one or two memorable soundtracks out of all the ones there. So overall, the music is good, but not epic or memorable or impressive as it could have been. Of course, you guys may disagree with this, but I'm just simply stating how I feel. I think I'm missing other criteria, but those are my thoughts as of now. |

I already read it in the novel but but but ;___; I hope the next few months go by as fast as the past few have. I still can't believe it's already Christmas. sallym613 said: I feel the same. | Oh shit, it's already over. The wait will be really unbearable. The preview showing the next scenes doesn't really help you know :/ But still it was an excellent season. The best anime this season and this year. Really painful to put it in "Completed" :/ 2011 is really an amazing year for anime and next year will be awesome as well. 10/10 Happy Holidays everyone. |

| great first session now the big question can the 2nd session do even better well the first session set the bars very high i hope they keep at least the standard of the first session. I give it a 9/10 for now but probably upgrade it to 10 after rewatch the BD releases^^ sallym613 said: Great episode! | I loved the episode ^^ Man, I love Rider <3 He and Waver are the best master/servant combination ^^ About the series, I liked it much better then I thought I would ^^ I didn't have such high expectations from the series, so I'm really satisfied. | I feel like the first half of this show (first season) has been mostly building up to what should be an awesome and emotional second half. So I refuse to give the show a grade yet until I watch the second half and see if the build-up was worth it. I thought it was nice to explore some kind of motivation behind the psycho-duo whom at this point lacked a bit of depth! Good job on that. Plus I feel like Rider and Waver's relationship almost make the show at this point, they're so much more fun to watch then Saber. I have to admit I'm impressed at the courage this anime as for taking it's time and mainly focusing on people talking more then the action. Will it become a classic? For now I can't tell. The first half was enjoyable without more, the second half has the opportunity to be crazy good. I trust it will be!! |
| Very good episode....NOW WE HAVE TO WAIT!! Good way to end the first season....with a fucking cliffhanger,Rider was again awesome this episode,even that Caster and Ryuunosuke are crazy fuckers they have their own awesomeness,at the end Rider,Saber and Lacer give us the best end for 1st season epic fight wait us at the start of 2nd season!! Now as a whole the series were fucking EPIC,the art was amazing,the ost orgasmic,the story awesome and the character....Rider was the best this season,his epicness cant be compare to anything this season,Caster crazyness was needed just makes the best villan for his atrosities,Saber and Gilga like always epic,and the rest of the character had their own epicness in his way to make the best Anime of the season and top 3 for me this year. Cant wait for second season to continue this epicness,3 months its going to be to long :( With a doubt 10/10 and goodjob Animeplex...dont fuck up! |

| Loved the entire season. They totally captured Nasu's (albeit very confusing) imagination. Thank god for Urobu because he knows how to write a story. I will now proceed to put myself into cryogenic stasis until April hits. |

| I don't want to wait until April for the rest of the fight! Damn, ufotable. You're such a tease. ;_; Overall, I'd give this entire half of the series an 8/10. It was nothing revolutionary in my eyes, but it was highly entertaining anime and featured an intriguing cast of characters. I'm looking forward to continuing the quest for the Holy Grail in 4 months. :) |

| Oh wow, that cliffhanger hurt, but I guess it was a good place to stop without revealing too much. Maybe there could be another 1 hour special or something next season? Either ways, great season. Pretty consistent with the quality, even with the bumps here and there. Still, seeing Fate/zero animated never ceases to amaze me. ufotable, like I said before, job well done. |

I can vaguely understand the decision in terms of budgeting, but from a marketing perspective, it's extremely questionable for them to have split it into two cours. The forced cliffhanger makes me think that they they had finished the vast majority of the series only to realize that they didn't have enough funding to finish the entirety of it, meaning that the decision to split the series may have even been decided as late as September, at the last minute. Still, I'm giving the episode a 5/5, due to how well it should actually view when watched as a whole. An episode such as 10 (filler) or 11 (poor animation) would provide a fairly noticeable drop in quality, even when watched in tandem with the rest of the series, but this and 12 actually contribute a lot to the plot, while also providing a large amount of foreshadowing and character development. |

| After the Holy Grail Dialogue, I figured Rider would just treat Saber like a little girl. Not to say he would underestimate her fighting prowess, but I wasn't expecting him to come in and speak on friendly terms with Saber, even calling her "King of Knights." If he already stated that he didn't see Saber as a king anymore, then why still call her by her title? Seems contradicting. |
