WHY HAYATO, WHY!?!?!?!??!?

That sucked. Why'd they have to kill him off? Could have given him a better death too, jeez.

Yeah that really pissed me off. He went through the entire first MSG, then Zeta, only to die ... like that? His death was really anticlimatic and felt a bit pointless. -_-

Agreed. Hayato, being one of the very original characters aboard the White Base crew, deserved a much cooler death than that. That was a little disappointing.

Wtf man, I can't believe Hayato died, it really was a sad death, but I don't think it was pointless... unffortunately people die in unexpected and simples ways.

It was still a heavy los... too heavy...

The falling colony was brutal~
Intense episode in every aspect. I loved how they focused on Kamille a bit. But why the hell did they have to kill Hayato?!.... Poor Fraw Bow, she lost Katz and how Hayato too.... This is getting darker and darker~

Why Hayato?! And in that kind of way...

I guess it's makes sense that people die such meaningless deaths. So many faceless zaku pilots have bled the same way, just to make 'heroes' like Amuro.

The sky falling was epic. I have to question the politics of selling out a colony like that though. It sends a clear message of subordination to Axis forces; if they intend to surrender completely, there is no reason to believe members of a defeated government would be left in power. Only Haman reaps the benefits here.

Damn, Hayato should not have died! He could become a very important piece of this series. Well, too bad...

It was sad when he saw Katz's room. Poor Fraw Bow :/

Kamille appearing was nice, I hope he backs to piloting.

In other news, that Kamille newtype moment in the beginning was awesome. Every episode keeps surprising me. I'm already feeling like rewatching Zeta. xD

did i accidentally turn on an episode of zeta gundam.

Id have to go for the best episode yet side of the argument, i really enjoyed this episode, it was ballsy and while yes i do think hayato deserved a much more epic death especially since he was going to blow himself up which would had been really epic, it did get an emotional response from me especially with his final word. I feel so bad for frau and her kids. This also means hayato never got to see his biological kid be born. its very tragic. The colony actually falling and destroying the city was shocking and well done and acts as a nice contrast to zeta where they were actually able to prevent that, not in this.

ZZ has really improved in my eyes over the past 12 episodes. I hope it keeps it up.

Calling bullshit on the colony drop and how small of an impact it had.

Poor Hayato; I agree with others, there was no reason for him to die and in such a way too. It felt cheap.

I did like the nice touches to the references of the White Base and Amuro. It's too bad they don't do more of that. Anyways, good episode.

Amazing episode!

Definitely one of the best!

Tbh i was kinda disappointed Fa is taking Kamille someplace with no wars, but then again he already has been through a lot, his family dying, his lovers, sister dying.

Still i wondered how Amuro has coped in all of this?! Then again in Zeta Gundam, he was in hiatus for 7 or 9 years i think? Even Char still managed to cope both wars(so where is he anyways?!)

When i saw Kamille talked to Judau and everyone. Man that was an amazing moment!

It's like Kamille is leaving everything to them to help stop the war. I feel as he's passing the torch to Judau. I hope Judau won't fail Kamille's wish.

Wtf Hayato dying like that. At least show Katz as a flashback when he died!?!

RIP Hayato. At least Gundam ZZ isn't shy on killing everyone on the spot at anytime.

When Judau became mad and started destroying everything, it reminded me of Kamille!! Even the music was the same as Zeta as well!! Why can't everyone live together!?!

I lol'd when Judau said "How can you be in the war and not be mad?!?!" So true! Though it kinda reminded me of one of the phrases Kamille would say XD

Damn the colony fell down!!! I actually thought Kamille and Fa where in that area, but there were actually in the other side of the island.

When Kamille turned on the corner, it look like Sayla or Beltorchika!!!!

I do agree the impact should be more, like the waves reaching towards Kamille.

I really hope Kamille comes back! We need him! Even Amuro is in space fighting.

Great stuff!! Glad Gundam ZZ is getting better by the episodes!!

Can't wait for the next episode!

Damn, first Katz, and now Hayato. Fraw, Letz, and Kikka are gonna be heartbroken. Hayato never got to meet the baby Fraw was pregnant with in Zeta either.

I'm a bit confused about the impact of the colony. Considering how huge it is, shouldn't it have caused a lot more damage? How is Fa gonna track down Kamille too? As cool as it was seeing him drawn to the colony drop, I'm a bit confused/concerned as to why Fa didn't immediately set out after him, even though she was in the middle of eavesdropping on some assholes at the airport.

So, we Zeta now

Can't believe Hayato died like that: feels cheap considering he had the occasion to literally go out with a bang by blowing himself up. I know the writers were trying to highlight how pointless Judau's desperate efforts to save everyone were, but it really seems like a wasted opportunity. It always hurts to see members of the old White Base crew go, though.

Other than that I'd say it was definitely the best episode yet: every time Kamille appeared I felt a sharp stinging pain in my kokoro: having him witness this tragedy was just plain wrong, especially now that his newtype senses multiply tenfold the pain he feels from the suffering of the victims. Damn I'm still mad at Tomino for fucking him up like that.
That colony drop was brutal.

Great episode for the tension and sense of danger, Judau's failure à la Zeta, Hayato's pointless death like it happens in any war...

Then came the colony... I was surprised because I was expecting them to flee hours away from the impact center and everyone was still hanging around. And that's when...
So... hu?! that's it?? The anime cheated me into thinking it would be a tragic event who would change the world's face like the ones in 0079 or in 0083 (not sure if this one is official): blowing everything kilometers away, reducing the world population,..

5/5 until the impact.

If it wasn't clear that Neo Zeon are vile motherfuckers before this, it's clear now - not just doing a Colony Drop, but making sure civilians can't escape.

Dublin was completely destroyed by the colony drop.
Neo Zeon stopped civilians from escaping by destroying all forms of exit from Dublin just to prove a point that they are in power.
Earth Federation is corrupt and doesn't do anything to help anymore, they said it would be okay for the colony to drop so they won't have as many mouths to feed.
That Hayato death was cheap and so rushed... so you bring him back, a character from White Base just to kill him off in such an anti-climactic way? Atleast he is with Katz again but still... wtf?

Why did Kamille had 2 roses in a vase? Even number of flowers is only used to commemorate dead people, afaik.

Amuro went to space? :0 I want to see him! And finally Hayato is confirmed to be aware of his son's death

Iino pronounced his full name for the first time, again, during launching

I cried when Kamille started talking ;_;

Judau's heartwarming moment with Ple was so touching, I almost expected him to kiss her in the forehead before leaving xD

"The sky is falling!" - I still remember that line from Zeta

Poor Hayato ;_; He joined his son.

I actually expected the colony to do more damage (like during the previous colony drops)

The politicians of Earth Federation are the worst, together with Neo Zeon. When I heard their talk in the airport, I really wanted Judau to come up and do what he does best.

I think it depends on *how* exactly the colony drops. In 0079, the colony split into several parts, so each one had less mass then the entire colony and acted more like a meteorite, causing more destruction because of more concentrated impact. An intact colony doesn't seem to have the same destructive power, it sticked into the city like a giant bottle in sand and didn't "blow up" or anything. Anyway, that's my speculation, I'm not a professional physicist or anything, but I hope I'm not entirely stupid to make an analysis like that.

Noooo Hayato died! :(

How many members of the MSG cast are left? Sayla seems to have been practically forgotten by the franchise (only getting a 5 second cameo in Zeta). Amuro is fighting in space (but will die in CCA). I guess that means Kai will be the only other guy left, but we haven't seen him since Jaburo in Zeta. Will he show up again in UC?

IDK why people keep thinking "if we bomb London/Berlin/Tokyo, the enemy's spirit will be broken!", because it always ends up galvanizing the enemy's public against you. Haman should read history.

Lol the Feddie ruling class continue to be evil, not actually doing anything to prevent the colony drop, allowing it to happen because of "population control".

The Argama had huge hangar bays. Why couldn't the Argama fill them up with people?

Man there was a lot going on this episode, and a lot I want to mention. First off, the concept of dropping an entire colony to prove your power is messed up beyond belief. My jaw sort of dropped at the mere concept alone, but seeing it actually happen and everyone being unable to stop it made my jaw drop even further.

It was really interesting seeing multiple characters from MSG (Bright, Hayato), mixed in with Fa and Kamille from Zeta along with all of the ZZ cast in one place. I really didin't expect Hayato to get any closure involving Katz, I thought it would just be ignored by Tomino. Seeing Kamille in this state is still really rough for me, and I want him to be protected at all costs.

Hayato saying "I hear you Katz" when he died really hit me although I wasn't really close to him in the original or Zeta. I don't actually mind him dying here, I know it's not some amazing death with lots of lead-up, but war isn't fair. People can die whenever, and I like that about Gundam as a whole. The whole population control debacle involving the federation is messed up. Hard to tell what side isn't corrupt at this point.

Someone else mentioned it but it's been so long since I have watched 0079 that I forgot there was a colony drop in that series as well. Either way it was still very impactful seeing it. I'm worried for every characters life at this point.

Honestly Hayato's death was not impactful at all, I personally never liked Hayato in any of his appearances so far in the UC universe, but he just...died. There was honestly no point in it, he just appeared to appear and make a reference to the previous series. And in Z Gundam he wasn't that relevant either, other than his role as Katz's father and encouraging Char to accept himself along with the others. The colony drop however as others say was pretty rushed, I think this time around the tone of the series is really affecting the importance of a colony dropping as opposed to the other series and the movies of The Origin. The aftermath as well, it seems they just couldn't recreate such an impact this time.

I agree with who said that a lot of unnamed people die and nobody cares: it's ok if an important character has the same fate. maybe not excellent writing, but still realistic. Why the heroes must always be saved by someone else? even in mobile suit gundam and zeta gundam, good characters risked their life many times while being saved

Instead, what about the colony drop? Haman said in the first episodes to mashmyre that people needs to be impressed/convinced, and now a colony drop? Yeah right...

Holy shit did this episode live up to the name. I've been so nervous ever since I saw that title in the episodes list. It would be hard to lay out all the reasons why I love this episode, but man, this feels like gundam at its very best. ZZ is standing on the same ground as some of the best of Zeta with this. Are the final 10 episodes of every Tomino gundam always peak??

Kamille somehow still getting banger character development without even being there mentally. I interpreted him running out of the core fighter as running from Hayato, and Hayato sensing Katz in Kamille's thoughts as Kamille's guilt over not being able to save him, which... man. And now Hayato's gone too, with a very tragic sendoff, and a perfect usage of Riders in the Skies. Every time they play that song, it somehow gets better.

The Earth Federation allowing the colony drop is so fucked up btw. I hate (in a good way) that the only way Judau and Kamille get to bond is through their shared anguish at the inhumanity of the world. Every time Riders in the Skies plays, I feel like, Judau becomes more like Kamille - when Cecilia died, now his disregard for his own life in the colony drop, and probably a bunch of other times I can't remember. This episode really felt like we're fucked. No one's on our side, the AEUG is a tiny group that even the Federation wants gone, and now the repercussions of this colony drop are going to be just as bad as Island Iffish. I guess Neo-Zeon's terror tactics are working on me!
