YES. YESSSS.This is a good fantasy anime!!! FINALLY AFTER ALL THESE YEARS!!! Goodbye, harem crap, magical girls and pathos everywhere!
-great characters (Iskander!!! I sooo love the joke about Bucephalus being real ox :) and Lancer with his love spot!!! I really am in love.)
-the MUSIC!!! fabulous, magnificent, fantastic! fits the battles and the mood of the series perfectly. the opening reminds me of Fullmetal Alchemist, ending - Slayers, dunno why.
-battle animation is pure win. the clouds, light, movement - sex for eyes.
-story. is. so. goddamn. fascinating. Can't wait for the next episode!

Again, F/Z tops everything else this week.

I wish all adaptation were this good. So far, with 4 episodes, it's already rapidly becoming the best anime series I have seen in years....

The quality of the animation, I mean CG , is respectable as usual. Ufotable or whatever is the same studio that made "Kara no Kyoukai", right? It seems the author of the original media is the same: kind of redundant and not thrilling.

Some comments for this episode:

If you can hide a sword with magic, why don't you hide your whole body?
Why should he be called assassin if he can be found easily from the distance?
Saver's bulky costume ruins her slender figure.

Fate/Zero Rider >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Fate/Stay Night Rider. You can't even compare how GAR Fate/Zero Rider is to that annoying bitch in Fate/Stay Night.
I still love how Kiritsugu's still like "Magic must defeat magic my ass. I have sniper rifle 8-)" Shirou was such an annoying sexist prick that Kiritsugu just looks that much cooler.
I have to say, Lancer's 2x Noble Phantasm was a little too convenient.

yes, they are.. otherwise, 300 didn't make sense.. and there is a tribe in Africa that really has shortened spears designed for close combat.. and even if spears are not used in close combat in real life, fictional stories have countlessly depicted it as such, especially in anime..
the invisibility is exclusive to the sword.. it cannot be applied anywhere else.. it's in her Servant status and it is the special property of the sword, her Noble Phantasm.. and tell me if you can make epic action scenes if she's entirely invisible, or at least a good plot..
Assassin's presence concealment is that he can't be detected by magic, not physical invisibility.. also, considering that he's officially dead in the competition already he might be a little off guard.. Kiritsugu is also in a position where he isn't assumed in the scene and Assassin might have not considered his positioning well because of it..
can't do a thing about that.. it's the character designer's desire to have her like that.. otherwise, we won't have a female Saber, a different Fate/stay night, possibly none of this, and one of the most renowned and well-parodied character designs would be gone from history..

also, ufotable's CG is so darn good, it looks like it's part of the animation itself and not CG'd.. drawn scenes and CG blend so well, i haven't seen any other studios pull that off as good as them.. and their animation of fluid dynamics are just so.. so..
and the story is written by another person (Urobuchi Gen), he's just supervised by the original writer (Kinoko Nasu)..

She hide the sword by compressing the air and create a high-speed flow of air around her sword which can deflect light so it is "invisible". However, that trick consumes quite a feat of prana and... of course, she can't move if that high-speed wind cover her body. it's a lot easier to hide a sword
Assassin was detected because Kiri found him with his own eyes, not "feel" him like other magus. While other magus rely on their feelings for spiritual things, Assassin has the skill of Presence concealment so they can't be detected by spiritual ways, but they still be detected by naked eyes if they materialize

Holy shit, what an episode. Letting ufotable adapt this was the best and only choice. This must be one of the better fights I've seen in anime. The spectacular animation and music made it really intense.

I couldn't help but burst out laughing when Rider interfered and instantly gave away his identity. It was hilarious - pure comedy anime can't make me laugh as much as Rider can.

It's hard to believe that the next episode will be even better, but I'm pretty sure it will be.

Edit: Also... Lancer, why you so fabulous?! That charm skill truly works. Though it was only supposed to work on women, so I guess he's just really sexy...

Not everyone necessarily praises the show blindly. Most usually find a show good but never bother to comment because of the general mixture of bad and good comments regarding the show.

Since this show is garnering positive reviews, people feel more relaxed and willing to comment. In contrast, if a show sucks and they like it, they usually wouldn't post unless they really didn't give a shit about what others think.

But then again, some do follow and get influenced by the crowd. It happens.

The single fight scene in this episode....... holy hell, this was better than every single fight scene in all of fate/stay night. Hell, even unlimited blade works couldn't hold a candle to this badassery.

The original Fate/Stay Night may have had pretty girls...... but this has unbridled amounts of pure badass. Not to mention a well executed story that anybody can really jump into!

Also, Rider confirmed for one of the most awesome dudes ever. He is a bro if there ever was one.

Another Irish lancer eh? No complains there, they both are awesome. I hope this one gets more love(and air time) than Cuchulain.

Can't really call the other guy a troll for saying saber looks better without the armor. The Einzberns should have given her Saber Lily Armor to match Irisviel! (Google Saber Lily NOW if you don't know what I'm talking about)

Love Unfotable, but I hope they trade more blows next fight. I loved what they did with all the slow motion, tactical retreats, etc; However I can't help but think of DBZ when they trade blows and the ground explodes with energy lol

Yea but when I read the novel I was sort of imagining them continuing to swing their weapons while exchanging praises instead of stopping to talk. I was hoping that they ended the episode with the entrance of berserker
