| This episode was really cool ! I love to know that Yin is feeling more human and more alive,a choosing on her own.Shows how much Hei cares for Yin too. Hei X Yin fan here XD It was also perverted that gangster then,tht guy um the guy who protects the brand new doll was sweet !!The funny scenes on this episode were halarious. I cried laughing when Hei went shopping and Misaki got jelous. I'm comvinced Yin is human she just has no emotion or doesn't know how to express it,she has a soul and she loves Hei. you can tell XD |

| I think that dolls are actually have emotion and feelings, but they can't express it, or they have no idea what the emotion itself. But I'm sure thay have. :D We can see that the one who shows emotoin is not only Yin, the brand new doll is smiling right? It shows that she is happy with that Kenji. | The ending was pretty heartwarming imo, but I hope he doesn't warm up too much, I do not want him to lose his serious badassery, not that he will but still haha. I am surprised how the mains' personalities changed so much since the beginning, which I also like, and almost everything else the others said in this thread. |

| This was a heart-warming episode. I don't believe that the Yakuza leader didn't notice that there weren't any bullets left but he obviously had to act acoording to his reputation. He was probably reminded of his own former relationship with a girl which is the reason why he let them go. |

| For some reason this episode Hei looks much like the main character from Texhnolyze to me. Haha, Hei’s room is numberem “201”. How ironic. Hah, this episode’s name is very appropriate for some reason. I sooooooooooooo love Hei’s expression today! A dole smiled? Huh, where is this anime going to? Ok, Hei totally surprised me by not betraying the boy, but I guess he doesn't feel like helping the syndicate when they're eyes are not on him anyway. I like his choice after all. But out of this arc I liked the most the fact that Aniki asked Hei if he has something important to protect. Really, at this point it was long since I was wondering what reason is driving Hei forward. I hope we'll get to know soon enough. |

| This was so good, it was great to see the fucker who once had something to protect die. Although something tells me that he had a hard time living. This is my favorite arc so far, it was great to see the guy with the doll that actually smiled. I once again realized how mysterious the previews are, they are awesome. |

| I think this might have been the best story of the series so far. Kenji turned out to be a great guy, and I'm glad that he and that doll were able to escape and live a happy life together. It was really sweet when she held his hand and smiled. Hei finally seems like he's willing to help other people in need, even more so than usual in this one. Which is great development for him. All in all, I loved this one. A very sweet and touching love story and one where Hei finds himself going out of his way to help a friend. |
| "Say, do you have something you'd be willing to risk your life to protect?" This was a very powerful 2 episode arc. Hei is beginning to show his more human and caring side, which will definitely bring problems for him (I support him all the way though!). I really liked how Yin and Mao also supported him in his decision to help his new, and surprisingly passionate friend (Kenji) while saving the doll as well. Also, the fact that dolls can "feel" has been showcased for the third time now, the first being Yin, then July, and now this girl. (Hei x Yin FTW) Darker than Black is beginning to win my heart even more now, this might just make my favourites (or extended) after all. Hei on the other hand has already long attained that. Only 7 more episodes to go... It's kind of sad actually. Oh yeah, I'm starting to like Kirihara's role more and more, especially now that she's on to something. (That shopping scene, LoL) 5/5 |

| Pretty interesting development about dolls. Seems like they're mostly soulless, but still retain a touch of humanity, which certainly makes things more interesting. |

| Loved this episode. Since I'm a Slice-of-Life-fag I didn't mind the lack of action and loved this little side characters love story. I was worried when I started this anime that this was going to be a 24 min of ass kicking shounen, but this is doing great. |
| Kirihara asking Hei if he was going to wear that...hilarious!!! XD And once again I must reiterate how great of an actor Hei is, in that kind of situation I would've freaked out if someone told me to turn out while putting something that feels like a gun on back. But nope, Hei just continued his college student character and pretended to almost forget who Kirihara was. Awesome. Everything turned out better than I thought it would, with Kenji getting out of it alive. Too bad his boss died, despite being kind enough to let him go :( That doll smiling at the end was unexpected since she showed no emotions throughout the two episodes. But because of that, it was also a heartwarming scene, showing that the doll cares for him. I also loved how Yin and Mao were on Hei's side. Yin probably just showing concern for Hei who was acting odd recently, and Mao because he likes to have fun ^^ The character developments in this mini arc was nicely done. |

| Kirihara is very bold to ask something like that. XD It sucks that the boss died but at least they got away. Overall, this was a great arc. It reminds of an episode from Samurai Champloo. |

| thank God.. I really thought that doll is Hei's sister... I like that Sakurai.. hes funny and very kind... I usually hate it when theres romance with the side characters especially when the mains does't have but man Sakurai X that doll was very touching.. also... Kirihara X Kei!! yeah baby!! shes the best for him IMO.. Yin is like a sister figure while Amber is a treacherous bitch. |

| I just realized this but LOL at Hei's room number being 201. Like ... really? It had to be that number? Guess I was the only one who didn't like this arc. I couldn't sympathize with Kenji or his Aniki or whatever. Couldn't sympathize with the doll either. The ending was so-so. It's hard to believe they managed to get away safely. Also why doesn't Hei move already?! His face keeps getting seen in compromising situations. It makes me worry about him :-( Hope the next arc will be better. |

| Bad 2 Episodes , i thought that it was unnecessary and pointless , they should have continued the interesting events. this is the weakest side story in the anime , felt like a waste of time . |
| I'm glad Kenji and his "girl" made it out alive. The ending was beautiful. While he's gone, Kenji did leave a small impact on Hei's life by slowly humanizing him and bringing closer with his neighbours, something he avoided doing probably because of his background/line of work. |

| Another great episode for DTB. It was a slower one, but we go to see some development from all angles, such as with the dolls, and specifically Hei. He actually went out of his way to help Kenji. Loved that Yin came up to check up on Hei, and that she's worried about him. She's starting to be independent! I might be reading a bit too much into it, but when Hei gets asked if he has anything he'd like to protect, the cut shows him walking towards Yin. So cute! I hope Kenji and his "doll" lived happily ever after!! Can't wait for the next episodes, they should be picking up! #HeiXYin |
