Butterflies are attracted to beautiful
flowers, they say. A sweet fragrance.
Yet, here you are, my little friend.
Blooming over my wounds.
Making my patient dreams come true.

There is always some warmth here.
It's faint, but it's present, and it feels
a bit like home. You can feel the distant
ember sizzling in this pure, white land...
That is to say,
I'm glad you're still around Karin.
Hope you're doing great, better than before.
Apologies for not replying to your last message from way back but I remembered you liked poetry quite a lot and I got inspiration to write today so I'll send it to you. A bit melancholic I must warn.

Slowly you drift away from me,
Like a boat cast upon the sea,
Endlessly I chase the trail your comet leaves,
In the black of the midnight sky,
You ascend to limitless possibilities,
While I am left to where my youth allows me,
You made your descent,
And I stood here,
Throwing stone after stone at you,
Each pebble I could find,
Yet you took each and every one of them in your stride,
It was then that I felt it,
Like a stake piercing through my heart,
Glass shards slicing through my skin,
I could find no fault within your reason,
Yet your tongue cut deeply like a knife,
A sword Lancelot himself could not wield,
From the rock that is your mouth,
I longed so deeply to receive flowery lies,
Yet all you had were wilted roses,
Planted deep within the depths of my chamber,
Life will never be the same again.
The sun wonders how the moon has been. Hopefully, she is still able to bask under the sunlight at times and keep herself warm on these last cold, dark winter days.
Stay safe,
The one who dwells where cats talk, and people don't
PS: Seems like you stumbled across "The Travelling Cat Chronicles", by Arikawa. What a wonderful read, isn't it?!
“As we count up the memories from one journey, we head off on another. Remembering those who went ahead. Remembering those who will follow after. And someday, we will meet all those people again, out beyond the horizon.”
