I can't believe no one is watching this...or wants to talk about it! I just found it last week and now I'm hooked.

Faces and movement can be a little awkward at times (it weirds me out that they don't have noses from most angles...and whoever animates it has no idea how horses move), but overall I'm blown away by the animation quality. Someone commented on their blog that all the characters were ugly (and by big-eyed anime standards I guess they are)...but I think everyone is, well, pretty. Even (especially?) the men. Eh...it's France in the 1700s, I guess everybody was pretty back then. :)

It's semi-historical, which I love - the first non-Japanese/samurai historical anime I've watched. Le Chevalier D'Eon was a real person who, for the second half of his life, claimed to be and lived as a woman. And for intrigue and suspense, you just can't beat the 18th century royal court.

Someone else has to be watching it! And if you're not, you should be.

I have the episodes, just haven't gotten around to watching it (which would be awhile. I have the episodes to like 10000 series, all of which I have to find time to get to. You can say it's like on my plan to watch).

I like these semi-histroical shows. The first one I saw was Rose of Versailles though (it's an extremely old anime but highly recommended).

It's on my plan to watch... eventually...

I have 48 episodes of Kenshin, 50 episodes of Monster, 22 episodes of Samurai Champloo, and 17 episodes of Fate/Stay Night I have to finish. Not to mention, catching up on Bleach and One Piece (eventually... although I'm considering dropping One Piece).

Sigh... so much anime... so little time

Ah, yes...time is really a problem...I have exams comming up and my anime viewing has dropt somewhere near zero, so sad:( but a whole month? My envy is killing me^^

Watched Chevalier up to ep. 11 and ongoing...it's not bad...reminds me of a reverse version of Glass no Kantai, which I still haven't finished. Must be the whole aristrocatical, melodramatic feeling and the blond long-haired main lead with gender issues...:D

I just started watching this anime, it is really quite good and i cannot get enough. the animation is great, the music fits pretty well, and the idea of a historical anime outside of japan is really unique. I'm hooked.

I'm watching it right now and I LOVE it! It's my fvorite right now and so I gave it a 10 even though I've seen only 4 eps! Anyways, I love the period it takes place in and the costumes! Such pretty dresses! The music is pretty and I love the animation. Makes me want to take a train ride to my hometown of Chicago and go to the Art Museum(for the 50 millionth time).

I'm on episode 13 and yea certainly this anime is great. ADV had licensed it and i decided to Buy the Dub instead of continuing it through Fansubs since the Dub sounds better than the original.

Just thought I'd bump this, mostly because I'm a big fan. The last few episodes I've seen (19-20) were great... very emotional and all.

In any case, I love the mix of history and magic/monsters, the music... this is definiely one of the better shows I've watched in recent months. I'm downloading ep. 21 right now - definitely excited about that one.

Well there are some that they can't kill off if they want to remain historically accurate. They've already fudged some dates, but for the most part it looks like they want to remain mostly on track.

Wow.. this thread is full of dangerous spoilers it seems :P

Anyway, gotta thank Krelian for recommending me this. I just finished episode 2 a while ago and I'm hooked! Historical Fiction with Fantasy elements? Count me in ^^

Yeah, movement was a bit awkward in some scenes. But the sword duels are quite well performed in contrast to that. And whoever said the animation is ugly is in need of a pair of glasses.

The only real problem is that I got the 1080p release and my laptop doesn't handle it so well it seems. The video sometimes loses sync, and I need to pause it and re-play D:

They're showing it at the anime club here but I missed the first two episodes because I had something else I had to do and I fell asleep through the second two... (Probably because I hadn't slept in about 36 hours...)

hehe, I reckon that you must have been pretty tired :P. I've just seen episode 3 and it's not something someone would sleep through.

The show is making a pretty good impression on me so far.

More people need to see this series, seriously. Then again, i think that it's quite a niche title, so that probably explains why it's underappreciated.
