Looking forward to it though.

If it is a Visual Arts/Key project it is almost 100% gonna be a Visual Novel. That said, there hasn't been any follow-up announcements afterwards, although I'd expect one this year considering they're about done with their current project.

Well, they made remakes of Air, Kanon, and Clannad after Toei did there versions...so why not? I'd watch it.

There's other good Key games without adaptations so It'd be rather wasteful to remake Angel Beats while several games and spin-offs have no adaptation. I'd rather see a Tomoyo After or Little Busters adaptation first.

totally agree on that one. He's a genius, but anime is something different. You have to think of a lot more aspects than just an amazing story. Especially when you have to do in just 13 episodes.
Let him do the VN's, KyoAni is proving to do a good job on the adaptions.

We can't change the world with Anime...

I don't see the meaning in remaking Angel Beats... P.A. Works did a pretty f*cking awesome job on it IMO... But, unfortunetly they had to make in in only 13 eps :\. But its still my favorite anime ever :\

Well, I agree partly. The series fell apart halfway through. The last episode to be precise was too rushed and the 180 change in Kanade's personality was too abrupt. This series needed 20+ episodes to make full use of it's potential, I say.

I wouldn't worry about an anime remake for now, that wouldn't happen for at least 3 years knowing KyoAni :3. At any rate the game could be good if it fleshes out the characters and plot more. I think Jun Maeda should stick to what he knows, and that seems to be Visual Novels.

He could use the material he wrote better. Did you not notice how character-centric many episodes were? That's cause Maeda is used to writing for Visual Novels with branching paths that focus on one character.

I wouldn't say writing for VN's is his only talent. He's also a good composer (it's actually his main job at Key right now) and in fact he composed Angel Beats' soundtrack.

Good to know. Angel Beats really need to find a way for explain everything Jun had in mind and with an anime of 12-13 episodes that was impossible. With so many characters the visual novel will do justice to Angel Beats.

Nothing about an expansion of the series. All it states is about information regarding game to be said in the summer.

Most following probably picked up the news already but K.K. Visual Arts's (The company running Key'S Brand) president tweeted that we can expect something to go down before summer. (Around Feb 7, 2013)

I'm sure it'll get brushed up before being released as a game.
When has an anime adapted from Key's visual novel ever been better than Key's visual novel.
My opinion - never.

But then, who knows how the reverse will work out.

If this gets put through, you can expect some a-hole is going to post a thread about what anime you want adapted into a VN. ha <= may be me

It'll obviously be adapted by Kyoto Animation because it'll be easier to work with than Little Busters. LOL. I'm sure there's going to be some mini-gaming aspect in the visual novel, such as playing music with GirlsDeadMonster, or shooting games with Yurippe. I doubt it'll have fighting game elements.

Why would KyoAni adapt this when the original anime was PA Works?

I don't know Rewrite sell bad since it's in VNDB top 20.

Western review scores matter very little when less than 10% of VNs are actually translated. Especially when it comes to sales.

Like Muv Luv outsold Muv Luv Alternative, but VNDB has Alternative as the highest rated game and Muv Luv is mediocre rated.

Kanade and Yui would make it totally worth it. Especially since it would have the exact same art as the anime, since Na-ga did the anime designs and he's a Key character designer.
