| Better than the previous episode, I'm beginning to sympathise with Sashi and his escapist tendencies, I still don't get Arumi though, she appears to be borderline cold towards him... well one could say that she's just being a realist, but still... anyway, I wonder where they'll end up next... its a bit early for their journey to end. |
| the thing with the deflating characters and comic relief was hilarious! btw just noticed one thing that i should have noticed long before, (because it's gainax and all...) the two girls, Sashi's sister and mune-mune are a parody version of ayanami and asuka (red hair-blue eyes/blue hair-red eyes) ^^ |

| Arumi's mom seems fine with being called "oba-chan" xD Noticed a poster with "Tenjimbashisuji" during a scene with Mune-Mune, Sayaka and Arumi spying. It is a shopping street in...Osaka (Arumi and Sasshi are from Osaka). Funny. Also Arumi's father mentioned a Mexican music style, which seems to fit his character in this world: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mariachi That Masayuki namedrop (which could mean the Gainax guy as well as this show's chief director). Also "Abe-san". The whole forced drama was hilarious and even a bit sad (the moment of shooting, what a tragedy!) Is Eutus the man who designed Abenobashi? I think it was implied in the summary at the beginning of the episode. P.S. this episode's preview from ep.5 is about otaku, pretty self-conscious of Gainax :p |

| I was initially thinking this is set in the late 19th century London. This is the roaring 20s prohibition era. Snail prohibition lol Adult version Arumi looks cute! Abenobashi and yet it looks like Chicago or NYC. lol |
| This was one of my absolute favorite episodes during my first watch. The legend of the legendary man, lol. And some better Abeno Angels than the time before. It's not narcotics, it's snails contraband. But the real Lulolgo shows up and all those nerd talks about firearms didn't save Sasshi from becoming a small comedic relief, especially after the competition was rigged. Oh, well, almost everyone will become small when the police enters the scene. Adult woman Arumi still looks cool. |
