| Why is it such a bad thing that the animation reminds you of FLCL? That's not a bad thing, it's marvelous. This is how Naruto should've been animated to begin with. They used the same animators in a couple of episodes in the Asuma arc, and, of course, the Naruto vs. Sasuke fight a long time ago. Nothing has moved so much in an episode of Naruto since I can't remember when! The action blasted out from beginning to end. Why're you calling the beginning a filler in such a negative way? I think it's great that they added something extra and didn't stick to the manga. It's the best freaking thing about this episode. Facts, not opinions (EDIT: I meant the other way around >_>). Too bad it looks like this mindblowing animation won't continue with the next episode. |

| The animation was horrible. I mean come on... in the first part of the fight it was like everything was made out of blocks. Even the faces were drawn strange at firs... when I first saw sakura I thought that I was seeing the Naruto series? WTF??? Is she using anti-aging cream already or something?.... |

| Oh gawd guys, I think the Japanese have found out how edit videos with Adobe Flash =/ Wtf animation, and I can't believe Fai was right, the animators really do hate the character Naruto. I'm more concerned about the fact that Fai was right though. |

Second, adding something extra that didn't happen in the manga is ok but not like this. This is not just over the top, it also doesn't make any sense (nine tales punched pain in the face and he just shrugs it off like it was nothing,when since he didn't use shinra tensei that should kill him). Third, you can do animation as good as you want but when the characters look like this  it's awful. |

Although it would never have been drawn in the manga. It makes you think they move very, very fast though, right? Haha, and I agree that it doesn't quite make sense how Pain took that hit like nothing (but THE hit was amazing!). Let's leave that for Kishimoto. |
| So from what I get out of this is that people would actually prefer pwetty pictures over fluid animation...no wonder why most anime have bad animation all the time. This episode is one of the few Naruto episodes that doesn't have a whole lot of still frames. Oh and btw, of course the artwork looks bad but we're not reading a manga here aren't we? We see it move. |

| That was brilliant! I feel for the people that diidn't like it, you were looking for something else and didn't get it... but i loved it! I thought the animation on pain worked really well because he is insane when you think about it and the animation really brought that out in him. Plus if you prefer the manga version...read that again, duh! |

| Maybe one of the worst episodes ever. Half of it was unnecessary and bad filler. Hell, it was even worse than any filler. I mean why did they have to screw up one of the greatest fights in the manga like this?! Even Pain's personality (and all of his expressions) were totally fucked up. They just should have stayed with the normal, quite short fight from the manga. At least the last scene was decent, but I stilll prefer the manga version. |

| i really disliked the art in this episode i swear sometimes it felt like i was watching a naruto parody, but it improved a bit at the last 5 mins or so of the episode, and i guess the eight tail part was pretty good. |

| What the hell is with you people? This. Shit. Was. Fucking. EPIC. Probably the best freaking episode of Shippudden so far. I thought the Whack-a-mole part was funny as hell. The art was superb, loved it so much. The fighting was just freaking fantastic, might be on the same level as Naruto vs Sasuke. Yondaime coming in like that was so awesome, especially how the light just revealed his face. Love the new ending too, I like Hinata, but I love Sakura. This ending fits better than the last one. And we might be getting a new OP soon as well. 5/5 loved it. |

Still I dont blame people for hating it, once a show already sets up its format, changing it really seems inappropriate. |
