According to the official website, anime production studio ufotable created a PR poster for the recruitment of Japan Self Defense Force (JSDF) officials. It's requested by JSDF Tokushima Provincial Cooperation Office.

ufotable's poster of JSDF
It reads "The more you know, the more pride in the job you have." The woman is wearing a Staff Sergeant uniform of Japan Air Self-Defense Force.

ufotable established a new studio in Tokushima and has been actively collaborating with the local companies and administrations.

I don't really like the poster, but as long as the message gets across that's fine.

That poster is poorly drawn, the position of the fingers, arms and joints is all wrong and the girl suffers from huge hands and elephant ears. But then again, I'm no artist.

Nice that they're involved with the community though, getting rid of the "bad image" associated with anime/manga definitely seems to be necessary these days...

The staff of ufotable Tokushima are mostly newface animators. If the art looks poor to you, it may be the reason.

My main problem was her right shoulder, I don't see how it's possible to position your arm like that without moving your shoulder up and forward; looks like they didn't crop a larger picture but tried to draw it without perspective. I usually don't notice bad art though...

To be fair, her face does look kind of real though, more 3D than 2D. Still has man hands though.

It's good to know that the Japanese are using anime to endorse their armed forces. It may just get some of the lazy, fat ass otaku out of their rooms and into the open air where they can make something of their lives other than fapping to loli's.

Still, yes, the drawing isn't great but I think this is good. Anime is possibly getting another exposure outlet, and the defense force gets exposure on all these anime sites. Win-win.

why must anime be used to supplement the corrupt forces of capitalism?
this is such a tragedy
"Forged in darkness with wheat harvested from Hell's half acre. Baked by Beelzabub; slathered with mayonnaise beaten from the evil eggs of dark chickens, force-fed to dogs by the hands of a one-eyed madman. Cheese boiled from the rancid utters of fanged cows. Layered with 666 separate meats from an animal which has maggots for blood."

I hope you're joking because anime is very commercial (and therefore capitalist) to begin with. It's not as if the animators (or TV station employees or licensors or toymakers) live on love and smiles after all.

If you had said 'the corrupt forces of militarism' I might have agreed with you.

I think it should have said, "Join the JSDF, because America won't let us have a real army ;_;"
It doesn't think, it doesn't feel, it doesn't laugh or cry..... All it does from dusk till dawn is make the soldiers die.
