| I use Twitter to follow posts from Japanese authors and artists i like. Generally, the Japanese side of Twitter is pretty peaceful, while the Western side is less so. Western Tik Tok is worse than Western Twitter because it's used to spread dumb and dangerous "challenges" that results in physical harm and/or damage to other people's property. |

| When I first registered on the site it was because someone asked me if I had an account and I thought maybe it would be good thing to have for the future. But I didn't really know what to do there or who to follow once I had registered. I got into using Twitter more recently because of the art aspect, and because a friend was using it. There's certainly a huge number of artists on there. Like the previous poster, I also follow a few esports related accounts. I generally don't watch esports, but I enjoy keeping up with the outcomes of certain matches and personalities. |

| Literally have three folders of SS's of self-proclaimed "leftists" posting OSINT finds to swat/dos anyone they mark for execution be it minors [linked a kids high school ffs] random adults and even government officials. So yeah, pretty fucking cancer just by that and that's not giving into the type of circle jerk behaviour that occurs on that platform and that goes for both right and left. However raw information when certain events take place is pretty useful if you're following it in real time. The gore/harmful content filters of twitter usually only activate after 5 minutes or when enough people report however what this means is that if you're following an event in real time most people who are at the event will be posting life unfiltered images and videos and you will be able to see what is actually taking place. Similar to liveleak while it was active but still gets the job done. From all the live footage of the 2020 riots from actual footage of david dorns death, all looting for just about every instane [because dumb fucks often record on their phones while they're entering, real smart ones I tell ya] and all manner of other stuff. Great stuff came out when the Beirut explosion first took place [most was removed though] and also for the recent situation in Kabul. So yeah, cancerous place for any sort of objective discourse but when it comes to raw images/video of breaking events you can't get any better considering everyone now has access to twitter and a phone, be it rioters in the US, terrorists in the middle east or civilians on the ground in Beirut, all have phones and that video will usually crop up first on twitter. |

I use Twitter to follow Japanese authors, mangakas, artists (both SFW and NSFW), seiyuus, idols, and people and accounts related to the anime/manga/light novel/visual novel/video game/music industry. I'ts also useful for following cosplayers, models, streamers and youtubers from around the world. Everything outside of that is absolute, pure cancer. I remember that when I started on Twitter I spend more time than I like to admit painstainkilly curating my feed and follows, so I wouldn't encounter any of the toxicity and bullshit populating that site, not even by accident. |
