| Well I don't really know what some people here want. If the EP is rushed adapting like 4-5 chapters, people complain about that. If the EP is something like this one, a bit slower and more focused on the food people complain too xD |

This is a COOKING ANIME, but they have been extremely rushed and nonchalant about the explanations since Season 2, which was the main reason the series has been lackluster for me after Season 1. If they reduced that any further, then it would just be watching people screaming the name of their dishes like Dragonball techniques and seeing who wins. | Episode felt a little long-winded, the Shokugeki itself was soo much more intricate compared to Souma's. Really glad Ryou won though, tying in his Stagiaire was a highlight. |

| As the remainder of the clubs get clobbered by the elite ten there will be very limited choices in which club you can join. We have yet to see if don RS are going to battle which I guess they will but none are at the caliber of Soma or Kyo or Alice in that club. Yes we like to see Nikumi-chan and she has grown as a chef as well but I don't expect her to bet an Elite ten. All of these shokugeki's will come to an end and we will have what 2 - 5 clubs left at the most. I have not read the manga so I am guessing a lot here. I wonder if Kuga formerly 8th Seat Chinese Szechwan club would win. He was part of the Elite 10 after all, not top ranked but still he now has to try and defend his club. So many ways to go |

| And Kusunoki is out!! I'm just glad Ryou could make his oponent Rentarou shut up with his amazing dish X3 So no one from Central had lose a single match it seems... No wonder the students who's already in Totsuki in quite some years felt miserable after being defeated by newbies from Central :S It's a very unpleasant feeling. I wonder who'll be the next one to challenge Central members. This episode was nice by the way :) |

| As expected Central's members have top notch skills. Its nice that the members of the elite ten are starting to get fleshed out though. The E10's skill is after all second to none. Momo's expression when Alice was explaining how the oven worked though was pretty funny. Hmm a low temp expert eh. Alice's explanation sure was precise and interesting. Ryo's dish was pretty surprising. But man this was the second upset for the elite ten then. Ryo's skill really has improved a lot though and this match shows it. To think that unevenness was the key though. But this victory proves that Ryo has changed a lot since the autumn elections as well. |

| Erina looked adorable in that bed scene before Isshiki popped up. It's cute seeing her in more casual clothes rather than her traditional school uniform. She's definitely getting used to living with the group there. By far I prefer Kurokiba's dish, it looked so good and had more to offer, them layers of flavor. Makes me hungry thinking about it :) |

I'm not sure what you expect in terms of creativity, since these guys are using pretty interesting principles. Rentaro's arsenal of hi-tech kitchen utensils and his innate talent to control heat allowed him to create a uniform high quality flavour across his dish, which one would expect to taste superb. However, Kurokiba used an unequal concentration of flavors to take advantage of humans' natural tendency to exaggerate differences in stimuli, thus delivering a bigger impact to the judges. Compared to Soma vs Eizan, where they just skimmed through their dishes and left victory to plot armour, this was definitely the better episode for me. Yes, Eizan's reactions were entertaining to watch, but I can find better ones in Gintama or Tom & Jerry. In Shokugeki no Soma terms, the ingenious cooking methods is the series' "Specialty", the mark of its existence. Losing that gives it very little else to stand out from the crowd. Edit: I thought I'd add that the series could possibly improve if it had Isekai Shokudou's level of eloquence in food description. |

| Enjoyable episode, but it really felt padded with all the explanations at the end. It's great to see other chefs developing and learning from past mistakes. Ryo's development here was very well implemented. Can't wait to see more Central ass kicking. |
Don't worry bro, I've read ahead in the manga and the story literally continues because of that interaction, so I'm thinking they'll put it in the next episode or 2 to give Erina more character development & not rush it. Cuz think of it this way, it would flow more smoothly in the manga, but in the anime it would feel fast paced, since it would be literally 3 episodes after she started to hide in their dorm and then find out Yukihira is Jouichirou's son. It would feel rushed & woldn't help flesh her character out, since they adapt up to 4-6 chapters per episode. I know they changed things in the first season similar to this, but I forget what part. But I known they're not gonna leave it out, so well just have to be patient and get that sweet moment we've all been waiting for. Souma X Erina FTW!!!! |

| I really thought Kurokiba's gonna lose but I forgot that if he did, he'd have to drop out. Fastastic win though. Also I think we can all agree that there really was no point in making the loli taste the dish aside from her showing the usual orgasmic reaction. Goddamn do I dislike loli fanservice :/ |

At least that is my understanding. If that were the case then the 9th seat would belong to Soma for beating one of the top ten. The guy Kyo fought would have to leave ( which I don't think is happing) + Kyo would also be in the top 10. Someone correct me if I am wrong with this. |

Please explain to me how is it meaningless. Umami is a flavor, but the most subtle one of all. You can combine it with almost all other kinds of flavors and enhance your dish. That is why a dish with strong Umami is proof of the chef's skills. Umami synergy, where adding different umami sources to your plate ends up in the total umami flavour being multiplicative rather than additive is really a thing, so it is always in a chef's interest to use umami in order to obtain more depth of flavor.
