It was, but its the most popular part in Japan, very glad they didn't skip it. It's not my favorite part, but I certainly enjoyed it and I expect the anime to only add to that assuming David Production keeps up their previous JoJo quality.

I can definitely see why they would say that! Araki's artwork is sensational and unique. Color really helps to portray that. I think the extreme stylization of the manga, especially at later parts, is the main reason it took so many years for JoJo to finally get an animation.

I didn't read the colorized version, but I've seen pics and it definitely looks great. I've only read parts 4 and 5. Would definitely recommend that version as well

Yeah I could see why you would say that. Speedwagon is the real protagonist in part 1. That hat ain't nothing to mess with.

Oh it definitely does. Part 1 is just the beginning. It's fun but its nothing like the rest of the series. It becomes so much more, Araki is a genius. Finally got around to working my way through Hero Academia and it's super good stuff. Only shounen I like more is JoJo :p
