Any fans of this legendary animator/designer/writer-director? he's been one of my favorites since i rented Lensman and Wicked City when i was 14 20 years ago and i remembered seeing Unico 1 & 2 30 years ago when i was 4 and been one of my fave animes.

I even dug Ninja Scroll, Neo-Tokyo, Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust, Animatrix and Highlander anime.

Yeah he's pretty great, I particularly love his character designs.

I'm not particularly into his sort of... baroque? artstyle and he hasn't impressed me as a storyteller so far, but it's a name to have into account, for sure.

I find the art and fight choreography in his movies to be highly appealing for the most part and enjoyed the shit out of Ninja Scroll and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust so yeah I'm pretty fond of the guy.

That being said I'm not a fan of everything he's put out as I personally found Wicked City to be utter crap.

I'm not too fond of gory and borderline hentai movies like Wicked City, but Ninja Scroll and Vampire Hunter D are great pieces of entertainment and a fest for the eyes.

Wicked City is it no different than films like Society (1989), Urotsukidoji, Elfen Lied, The Thing (1982) and Cronenberg movies?

Would anyone compare this guy to Frank Miller and Paul Verhoeven and Brian Yuzna?
