Umm I don't think I really understood the punchline. About there being no menus or prices.
It kind of seemed like the whole chapter was leading up to this joke that I didn't pick up on. Is it a Japanese thing?

| @TheLostLight you probably no longer want the explanation, but I assume the point is that in some very high end restaurants prices aren't listed. This is because the clientele wouldn't be the types to fuss over the cost of the various menu items. Even some low end restaurants will do this with drink menus. |
