I discovered Bubblegum Crisis when I was in 9th Grade thanks to me watching a video by MercuryFalcon (alongside with other mecha anime like MegaZone 23 and Iczer-1). I was taken interested by the series and later I watched the 2040 series I loved both of them. I also seen AD Police OVA when I wanted to watch some cyberpunk anime's like Cyber City 808 for example. Outside of those I have seen the other Bubblegum series like Crash or The TV AD Police series but I'll get around to watching them eventually now that I'm interested of watching more Mecha shows. Also I think that Bubblegum Crisis should get a another reboot by AIC, since if MegaZone 23 is getting a reboot then Bubblegum Crisis should get a reboot as well. I definitely should try watching more of tomino anime's since the only one's in have watched were the Gundam series he directed, the Ideon movie's, and Overman King Gainer (I didn't add ideon because I have forgot what happen in the anime for me to put a proper score).

I did mention that I was getting interested of watching Mecha show's again. That's because when I made this account I wasn't too interested of Mecha as I was many months prior due to having watch a lot of non Mecha series as i wanted to branch out after watching so many Mecha series. I'm now in a mood of watching Mecha anime's again after watching Patlabor 2 and Martian Successor Nadesico Prince of Darkness. There's still a lot of series I want to watch like Aura Battler Dunbine, Rayearth, Orguss, Etc.

I think that even in 20% of speed I probably wouldn't be able to watch it. But I think it does help if you want to joy your memory of stuff you might've forgotten.

Considering that it's slow pace, guess it wouldn't be surprising to fall sleep on lain. I did say I watched it mostly at night I tend to do that with most horror anime I watch. Which is what I did when I first watched Higurasgi When They Cry and it actually scared the crap out of me. Like normally I don't get scared from watching horror anime the closest of which was Betterman.
But still, the first few eps did got me hook and I have only watched season 1 so far, but I'll watch the rest of the season in summer.

I haven't been in touch with any Kaiju related stuff (nor do I plan to return to it) although my brother is being a big Kaiju fan. But that's enough about my brother. Now Redman is an intersting to watch considering that's it's low very budget but it does have its charm, especially when watching our ''Hero'' brutally kills Kaiju that were just minding their own business. Which most Toku fans had called Redman more of a Serial Killer than a Hero, which was why I watched it. It's been awhile since I watched it but I think you might like it.

The anime they wanted was Future Robo Daltanius. Also Daltanius wasn't the only series they wanted there also Dairugger XV and Albegas, althrough the anime wasn't brought over since Dairugger XV (named Vehicle Voltron wasn't successful as Lion Voltron). Besides all of that I dropped Golion most becausce it was kind of boring to watch. At first it wasn't but over time as I watched it, I started to lost interest of the anime. Since that the character never really developed and were pretty much the same as episode one. Not to mention that I kept comparing it to Getter Robo G as it was a much better show then GoLion. I only watched it because it appeared in SRW W. But besides all of that it's still quite fascinating to see the changes when anime was localized throughout the 80s to 90s.

Gilgamesh did reuse a entire scene from the 1st episode and put in the 5th episode instead of animated a new scene, because they wre that low on cash when making the anime. Although I haven't finished Gilgamesh yet so I have to yet if it gets a little more interesting. I actually kind of like Demon Lord Dante which I gave it a 7/10 through it's probably more appropriate if I gave it a 6 or 5. I thought the story was a bit interesting especially how they treated the Christian God, which I imagine made a lot of Christians angry if they watched. Although I think the story would be more flesh out of it had 26 episodes, but unfortunately only down side is the animation. Like when I first watched it I didn't mind the animation that much, but looking at some clips yeah the animation is definitely bad. I'll never forget about that CGI fire, super out of place in the show and not to mention covering all the ''gore'' with shadows doesn't help either. It's funny to think there were other shows that had way better animation like RahXephon, Gundam Seed, and even Azumanga Daioh. Still I think it's one of mine favorite ''it's so bad it's good'' type of anime.

I was actually planning to read 20th Century Boys at some point, maybe after I read or watch Monster. I'll definitely checkout it soon.

That's interesting to know that there were crossover with other niche communities. I haven't listened to goth or horror punk through I'm a big fan of anything rock or heavy metal. I can imagine it was fun to see and listen to some of those bands and talk about other anime's you like with other people.

I haven't read the manga yet through I know some bits and pieces here and there. Although I do wonder had they kept the original script before changing it, would it had been an satisfying ending who knows. I always had this funny thought in my mind where someone that Elfen Lied was most hardcore anime they seen and I turn to them with a massive grin on my face saying ''guess you haven't seen Shoujo Tsubaki yet''. I be lying not to say I'm currently obsessed with Elfen Lied like I was with Genocyber back when I first saw it in 2022. Through for Genocyber it was more of me trying to make a better version of the anime (which the version I imagine is actually quite interesting), Elfen Lied on the other hand I'm not sure why I'm so obsessed with it. Why I'm I obsessed with it compared to all the other shows I watched. But even if i'm obsessed doesn't mean it's bad thing, I'm just glad that I watched Elfen Lied:)

What do you think of this conversation? Like the conversation started with me asking what do think of my favorite anime's and later we stared talking about anime's and stuff. I'm not saying it's a bad thing because I'm actually enjoying this conversation. And getting to talk to someone that has the same type of interest as me does put a smile on my face. What do you think?

Interesting so that's why I haven't heard of it until recently. I knew that Bubblegum Crisis was popular back then (popular enough to get a American comic by Dark Horse Comics), i wish that more people knew about it. I kinda figured that Zambot 3 would be a better use of time considering that it's well known for tomino killing off all his characters plus it being 23 eps long would be a good show to watch when i get around watching it.

I was right that the mysterious mecha anime was a super robot show. Since when you mentioned it being in Guam, the first thing that came to my mind was when Mazinger Z was brought over to Hawaii in the 1970s. I only thought of that because both of them are islands lol. But be sure to tell me when you do find it alright:)

I wouldn't want to speed up the eps to see the fights since I might likely missed something important if I was watching a tokusatsu series. But besides that It takes like forever to finshed an anime even if it's 12 eps but I think it depends on if it clicks. If does than I would try to finshed that series in a few weeks or a day depending on the anime, but I like really depends on if it clicks or not. I can definitely agree with Death Note, me and my bro would 100% be agonizing over the cliff hangers if we watch it airing. I personally think that Lain is something to watch a few episodes or just one at a time. Which is what I did when I first watch but mostly at night or the evening since i personally think it's better to watch lain at night to get that spooky atmosphere in my opinion. The reason that my brother is on ep 1 is that he keeps on sleeping on ep 2 at night, but he's still interested of finishing the series just that he can be a lot more lazier than me.

I wasn't a huge fan of Toku either but I used to be very into of Kaiju related stuff like Godzilla, Gamera, Ultraman, etc. I had a fascination of giant monsters as a kid, seeing Kaiju's destroy cities and clashing each other made me wish they were real. I was a big fan of Godzilla especially when I went to see the 2014 movie and I know a lot of facts about Godzilla with me watching a lots of videos, some of his movies, and reading stuff on fan wiki's online. But I wasn't into Ultraman all that much as a kid I remember seeing clips of the ps2 Ultraman and watching a review of the thailand film Hanuman vs. the 7 Ultra brothers. Oh! I completely forgot that I watched Redman! You probably have heard of this show since your into of Showa era Toku. Besides all of that, when I decide to getting of Tokusatsu it would be the Kamen Rider series since they a lot more interesting than the Ultra series.

....................what did I just watch. I did see a starfish monster dressed as Hitler and even has Nazis as his minions? And also did they have sticks that can shoot off freaking cannons!? Plus he even threw a star fish too! This right here obviously doesn't need context this is a work of art right here. I knew the japanese can be weird, but this was just magnificent. This is why I love Japan so much they can give us wonderful stories or they can just be weird, maybe even both!

Yeah I would not be surprise either if was shorted (considering that it's sequels were not brought over in the west). There was another show called Beast King Golion otherwise more famous outside of Japan Voltron. In which they change a lot of things when they bought it over, like removing all the violences and death of the original version with the biggest change is when earth gets destroyed in ep 20 (in the first ep the earth went to a nuclear war that killed everyone on the planet) and change it into a random planet. Doesn't get worse by the fact that the staff could not understand japanese so try to understand what happened on screen. Changes like this can sometime turn an anime into a different show when localize in the west, which makes it interesting to see the difference between different versions. Of course while Voltron became popular outside of its home country where it was forgotten, Technoman did not and would fall into obscurity.

I haven't seen the remakes yet but it's interesting to see kinda of what takes they would make in the 21st century. However Gilgamesh is weird. I'm still watching it, but it's one of the most low budget anime of the 2000s I have seen so far (2nd only to Demon Lord Dante). The manga is like super obscure as it doesn't have a rating on MAL but I did look at some of the panels online and it's totally different from the anime. Pretty sure someone in the studio wanted to make an anime but couldn't figure out to make a story and then found the manga decides to adapt it in his on way (like removing aliens that were in the manga for some reason). I only watched because the title got me thinking of Fate Gilgamesh instead.

I can see why you would prioritize the 60s Astro Boy since it is the first TV anime after all. Obviously shows targeted for very young children ain't for me but I could see them being entertaining sometimes but we of course are not there targeted audience. Oh yeah! I completely forgot about Pluto from last year. Pluto is an anime that is a reimagining of one Astro Boy story line ''The Greatest Robot on Earth.'' it's a darker story that was done by Naoki Urasawa (best know for Monster). i never got to finished reading it but I thought it was pretty good.


I'll definitely try listening to old anime podcast and look at some those old magazines scans! And you know when you said Cartoon Fantasy Organization I thought to myself ''what that sounds familiar?'' so I look it up and I immediately realized who they were. Because they were founded by the founders of the furry community that we know today. I watched a video talking about it long time ago and they did mention the Cartoon Fantasy Organization, but still interesting how they play role in the American anime clubs back then.

BTW here's some interesting facts about the Elfen Lied anime you may or may not have known.
1. When Lynn Okamoto was looking for studios to adapt his manga most of them rejecting it as it's content would not sell well and be unsuccessful. It was not until Studio Arms pick up the series. There's also the fact it was considered average media in Japan which I guess in a country where they made stuff like Berserk, Devilman, Violent Jack, North of the First Star, Genocyber, etc. I could see there reason (it could also explain why it was unpopular in Japan).
2. There were a few changes were made in the last few eps before we got the final version. The biggest change was that after Lucy fought the soldiers we cut to the facility where Kakuzawa is about launch the missile containing the Diclonius virus just like in the manga but he's stop by Kurama (probably because his daughter saved him at the last second), Kurama kills the chef however the missile is already launch but then it quickly falls down destroying the facility. And finally the person that was at door was none other Nyu or Lucy maybe since she actually open the door unlike the version we got.
This was changed as the director wanted to more drama than action which is what we got. I kinda of wish they kept the original version but the missile thing would be something that came out of nowhere without proper buildup, but I'm perfectly fine with the ending we got. What do you think?

It's surprising to hear that Record of Lodoss was popular in the west, I expected it was popular in Japan with all the games, manga, novels it has. But that fact it was popular in the west is still surprising to me and why have I not heard of this anime before? I'm not planning on watch this anime any time soon since there are other series I want to watch like Zambot 3, but I guess sometime In the future i'll probably watch it.

Hmm..I see, I was just wishing that I had my own collection of anime. I figured that it was expensive to get physical copies, but oh well. I just like imagining having a bunch of physical copies of both old and new anime's and watch them on my 10 yrs old TV in my room. But that's just me wishing that, I'll be sticking with pirated websites, I have been that since I was kid and I'll keep on doing that. Although I curious of what that Mech show is. Of course you don't remember it right now but from what you said it ending up in Guam? I should definitely update my information on US territory because I never heard of that place lol. But until you find the name of the anime I'll be waiting till then.

I agree that action episodic are lot easier to watch than comedic anime's since since there more monsters of the week naturally. Through I'm surprised that you manage to watch 30 eps of Kamen Rider in one day!? Like I barely can finish an anime with only 12 episodes yet you manage to 30 in one day! I think the last time I did something similar like this was when I was watching Part 5 of JoJo where there was only 2 days left before New Year's Eve (December 31st). Having not watched part 5 since early November and only watched 6 episodes so I decide to finishing it before New Year's Eve and I finished it just before Dec 31st rolled around (I was basically speed running). There was also my Brother when he watched Death Note, you see when I first talked about my brother I was watching Death Note and I was in 20 eps in, so I decide to introduce my brother to Death Note and immediately it capture his attention as he manges to watch all of 37 eps in 3 days at 5 clock in the morning. I didn't even finish Death Note yet! Although he still haven't even finished Serial Experiments Lain (he's only ep 1).

Your into of Tokusatsu right? I say this because I'm somewhat into of the Tokusatsu Genre but I haven't really watched them with only Garo and Ultraman Gaia. I haven't finished nether of these series with Garo I watched only the first 2 episodes and Ultraman Gaia 10 episodes. I haven't gone back to watch them since May of last year through I'm interested of revisiting Garo since it was pretty interesting to me. Ultraman Gaia on the other hand, I have no plan to watch it again so it probably be years when I decide to revisit it again.

I watched a lot of 4kids and Sarban Growing up so it interesting to see the major difference between the original and the ones aired in the US like I'm currently watching Tekkaman Blade where in America it was called Technoman and I wonder to myself how much censorship did they do in order to aired it for children since Tekkaman was not target for children. In the 2nd episode a lot of people are killed by giant space bugs in that episode and wonder how would they censored that. While 60s anime is not for me I can agree that I do like the design of the Mechs being like cartoonish with Mechs like tetsujin 28, Giant Robo, and Poseidon from Babel II. The Mechs weren't the only ones with a cartoonish design of that era, people like Go Nagai and Shotaro Ishinshori (creator of Cyborg 009 and Kamen Rider) had drawn there characters with cartoonish design that I like especially when there adapt into animate form in the 2000s (well expect for Shotaro's Gilgamesh in 2003 where they decide to make a completely different anime for some reason). You don't see lot of cartoonish design in newer anime's then more older one's since I do like seeing cartoon like design.

I haven't watched Astro Boy for a long time I don't have any interest of revisiting the series right now especially since the newer series after the 2003 anime are targeted for like kindergarteners in Japan and I'm not going to watch a show that is only targeted to 6 yr olds or lower. But it be interesting to watch the series again just for nostalgia.

You know I have always been fascinated by the early anime fanbase in West from the 80s to 90s before anime slowing become popular thanks to Toonami. Like the fanbase bring over lot of shows and fansub the anime's that are super niche in the west. It's fascinating to see the fanbase being from niche to being mainstream and learning history of anime is a lot of fun to learn about, like I'm inspired by YouTubers like Hazal, Kenny Laurence, and MercuryFalcon. And see them having watched and reviews old anime and being quite knowledgeable about anime, I wanted to be that too. There's a lot of old shows that I'm planning to watch one day:)

I found the anime I was looking for. It's called Record of Lodoss War. from what I looked at Wikipedia it's a franchise that has multiple games, manga, novels, etc. the anime I have is a 13 episodes OVA done by studio Madhouse, which was released in 1990. I'm kinda surprised that I even have this, probably one of my family member must have bought it a long time ago.

I think your right about episodic series, since I argue that they best to watch it one at a time (I'll probably do that when I decide to watch Medabots again). But there was Brave Command Dagwon which I manges to watch 20 eps through one sitting! Through I think that depends on the series we're watching. I haven't watched any Pokemon related since Pokémon XYZ and the same can be said for Digimon but I have been thinking of picking it up Digimon again by watching the original japanese subs since they changed a lot of things in dub so it would be interesting to the difference:) I heard most of 60s anime you listed out, and when did list them out i remember I use to watch Astro Boy. More specifically the 2003 anime that I watched all the time plus that 2009 American adaptation movie. I did also watched the 1980s version, but I never since the one from the 60s. Well probably because 60s anime's are pretty outdated for my taste, I be more willing to watch an anime from the 70s than watching one from the 60s.

That's interesting to hear that there were fan made boots that were traded around and also there were different VHS releases. If there is one think I like, it's learning about history of certain anime's like learning about how Robotech was made:)

2000 anime VHS tapes!? Like I had only a few anime tapes but the fact you have 2000 anime tapes is impressive. I used to have a lot of tapes but most of them have been sold off by my family. The few anime tapes I remember having were a dragon ball movie, the Digimon movie, the first 4 pokemon movies, and the 2nd season of Digimon. But unfortunately they been sold off, but I have two anime dvds one of them is the first naturo movie. The other one I don't remember what's it called since I never watch or even touched it and it's in a box somewhere. From the look at the box art it look like an fantasy anime from the 90s and was probably an OVA, I probably tell you what it is when i find it.

I watched Medabots when I was 13 and I remember liking before I dropped it most likely because I lost interest. I watch like a lot of Pokemon when I was a kid with Pokemon Black and White being the first pokemon anime I watched. However i was more into of Digimon than Pokemon especially that I watched the first 3 season of Digimon on Netflix and Digimon Tamers was the first ever anime made me cry. I never really watched Yu-Gi-Oh but I remember watching the Beyblade Metal series and also the original Bakugan series. Now that I think about i watched a lot of children anime as a kid, shows like Sonic X, Kirby, Mega Man NT warrior, dinosaur king, etc. But your right they can be pretty hit or miss.

I definitely knew to not watch it until after I watch the anime, but it still would be an interesting video when i get to watch it:)

I don't really own a lot of physical copies of anime, so I tend to go more pirated websites since there lot easier to find and watch anime at least for me.

Hmm...I haven't watched a lot of anime that are targeted for children but I'm somewhat curious to what other children anime you watched?

I'll make sure to watch that video at some point. It would be interesting to learn how it was made and cultural impact it had in Japan, but it probably be after I watch the anime so for now I'll save it later:)

Considering what you briefly described Gushing over Magical Girls I can only imagine what Twitter would say when it gets over the to the west (if they leave it uncensored) and also Elfen Lied if it got a remake (which i hope it will).

Godannar is pretty good show, while it ain't my favorite Mecha anime it's quite good show to enjoy. There's of course the fan service athrough it isn't explicit as Gushing over Magical Girls, the story is pretty good, and the show is pretty much an Homage to both 70s super robot shows and the tokusatsu genre. Overall I gave it 8/10 for both seasons and you might enjoy it when you watch it.

I think I be fine watching LOGH, like I watched a few eps of Star Trek before which had lots of sitting and talking so I should fine. I figured the Space Battleship Yamato would be good place to start especially with its massive influence on sci-fi anime as a whole (and it being reference in Haruhi Suzumiya). I might check 999 first considering that I seen some of the posters that look interesting and also Arcadia too.

I haven't watched any other anime that is as bad as Brynhildr in the Darkness since that it is the first anime I truly despised (I gave it a 3/10 score). I have some anime that I have in my list that are considered bad, through I have yet to watch them but if they really are what other people say then you can expect me put it a very low score.

When you said Gushing over Magical Girls, I decided to look it up and thought to myself is this hentai? It probably isn't but there are lots of explicit shots that had one of my eyebrows raise up. Through then a again it isn't my first time seeing an anime with lots of ''fanservice''(Godannar comes to mind).

I think he would be fine to watch it as long as it's 100 eps or something. But I haven't seen LOGH and I have no idea what's it about anyway. Although it is one the few anime I plan watching when I decided to getting into the space opera genre. The closest to getting into that genre is Gundam, Macross, Gunbuster, Infinite Ryvius, and Martian Successor Nadesico. If I start watching space opera shows it probably would either be Space Battleship Yamato or Space Pirate Captain Harlock.

Your right that a 5/10 is basically a average score, however there arebsome form of enjoyment of watching them. Take Genocyber for example, the writing isn't good at all but what makes up for it is the ultra violent gore. There are a lot of bad anime out there but there are some that are a ''so bad they good'' kind of way, which as a result they have own unique way of enjoying the show despite being awful. I heard some of the anime you listed (especially with Apocalypse Zero being on my plan to watch list), but I haven't seen them yet so I might watch them in future. But like I said, I kind of like watching them and never truly hated them except for Brynhildr in the Darkness.

Brynhildr in the Darkness release in 2014 that was done by Lynn Okamoto (who created Elfen Lied) is the worst anime i have ever watched. Now I could make a review about how garbage of an anime it is, but there's already review in this website that basically says the same thing of what I thought of the show. But basically I expected to be like Elfen Lied but instead it was a generic harem anime with lots of fan services, flat and uninteresting characters, forgettable ost, mediocre animation, a deus ex machia, the ''gore'' is not even that gory, and finally the song of the 2nd Opening not only does not fit the tone of the show but doesn't even fit the what's happing in the opening its self! Now there are people that like this show which is fine, but to me this is not a good anime at all.

OVA are (mostly) over in Japan huh. Interesting to know but I shouldn't really be surprised since ONA are like the successor to OVA (basically like pasting down the touch to the new generation). But even if a new Elfen Lied anime would have censorship or cause problems in the end what we got is a new Elfen Lied anime and that's all that matters. But until the world blessed us with a new adaptation, I'll just watch and find similar anime's to Elfen Lied.

Also Galactic Heroes has 110 episode as a OVA!? I thought that was like a joke or something but that's like what a long running TV anime would have not an OVA! Besides that you're right about sticking to longer TV anime or movies since my brother likes to watch longer series as it gives more content. The more content it has the more he enjoyed show at least what he said.

I tend to give the shows I watched usually a 5 all the ways to a 10. If you see a anime I watch with a very low score that means I did not enjoyed it.

I think showing him a short series without knowing the episode count could work, but I doubt it would work since I would need to convince my brother to watch this series (which 90% of the time he would not be interested). I view most OVA's as like movies or mini-series through it depends on the series. Like 8th Ms Team was like a TV series for example.

I was aware that Elfen Lied was not popular in Japan compared to the west thanks to a video called Why Did We like Elfen Lied by the YouTube hazal. It was a 2 hour long video (which the video itself is pretty good to watch), which talks about the history, how it impact the anime fanbase in the west, and the legacy of Elfen Lied. I was thinking that Netflix would be the company if the manga was adaptation and I definitely think censorship would be a problem especially if it was on streaming services, so it might work best if goes straight to OVA. You might be right that it may not work in OVA since the anime was not much a hit in Japan but at same time it could work in western countries. Like for example the Big O was not a hit in Japan so it was cut down to 13 eps, however when it was brought to the United States it was a big hit there that it got a 2nd season. So the way I see it is that Madhouse adapts the manga into a OVA, the OVA is not a hit in Japan, however when brought over to the western countries it become popular and considering that how well known and infamous Elfen Lied is, I doubt it would be a flop like it would in Japan.

I might try gunpla in the future, but like I said before I'm laidback and a lazy type of person so I wouldn't really be interested of build them. But hey, I like looking at people's own custom made gunpla online:)

Yeah the 2001 Hellsing anime was definitely overshadowed by Ultimate and for me it was a 6 or a 7 out of 10 score. But there were a few things I like about the show. For example the tone of atmosphere is darker than the overtop action that is Ultimate (which I love), and the ost is really good especially with the opening.

Interesting to know that you made some amv in the past. I used to make amv too, but I never finished them. The two videos that were Mecha amv, the first i used the song revelation from Kamen Rider Ryuki that feature shows like GaoGaiGar, Getter Robo, Gunbuster, Mazinkaiser, Gravion, and Dancouga Nova. The other amv used the song dead or alive from Koutetsu Shin Jeeg that feature Gundam 00, Shin Mazinger Z, and Gurren Lagann. But like I said I never finished them and they been lost to time.

Your probably right about someone not liking the humor of FLCL since when ever I ask him why do you hate it? He always saids ''it's too wacky'' and does not explain any further. My Brother (who is younger than me) is not really into of anime compare to me, like he watches about 20 or less anime he watched. He's probably the same person that might not enjoyed Azumanga Daioh (as evident when I showed him the intro and he didn't not cared). Plus he didn't not got attached with the story since it was only 6 eps, my brother gets to shows that have 26 eps or more. Like for example if he was watching Elfen Lied with it have only 13 eps, he would not care about the story nor the characters themselves, But if he was watching Death Note with it have 37 eps he would actually care. I don't understand how his brain works when it comes to anime.

I too wish Elfen Lied had a 2nd season, but considering it has been a decade it's unlucky it would get an season 2. But instead an new adaptation of the manga done by one of my favorite studio Madhouse. considering since that studio Arms was shut done in 2020 I think pick Madhouse would be perfect since they did works like Hellsing Ultimate, Gunslinger girl, Parasite the maxim, etc. I personally think would make a good adaptation of Elfen Lied. So the Wii had an web browser like the Wii U huh. Too bad I don't have the Wii anymore and the Wii U is basically broken so oh well.

I'm somewhat interest of gunpla and plamo but unfortunately i don't have any of them. I did saw a Gouf custom model kit at a store once, but I didn't buy it. I think that doing gunpla does look fun to build but I'm not interested of build them since I'm more of laid back person that does not really get things done so I might not really finished them unfortunately.

I agree that Phantom Blood is the weakest part, but I enjoyed it for the most part. However part 2 is what really made me love JoJo, with things like Hamon, the piler mans, and Joseph being my favorite Joestar.

Paranoia Agent is definitely a fantastic anime. I like the art style and the characters (my favorite episode is ep 8). I think should watch more of Kon's other works like Tokyo Godfather.

Trigun was pretty cool, since you have someone like Vash being a pacifist in a wild west setting which I think its pretty interesting to see. I discovered the series through a few clips on YouTube, which made me interested of watching the anime.

I agree that Hellsing Ultimate is the best way to watch the series, through I didn't really think the TV series was awful. I just thought it was interesting to see the difference between the ova and the TV series, but I understand why it would be awful especially since the animation was low budget. I haven't read the manga so it was surprisingly to learn that it become a mess at the end. But anyway I love everything about Hellsing especially with Alucard being one of my favorite characters and I will have to thank my brother to introduce it to me. Also you make amv? Could you show one to me?

GunGrave will always hold a special place in my heart (alongside Elfen Lied, Code Geass, Gurren Lagann, and FLCL). I discovered the anime through a YouTube video that talks about the ps2 game and when it mentions it having an anime adaptation it got my interests plus with the fact it was done by the same creator as trigun got me interested of watching the anime and I fall in love with it. It basically like Berserk with the first half being like the golden age while the 2nd half was a revenge story. I love the main character Brandon Heat (or Beyond the Grave in the 2nd half) design being like a cowboy outfit with duel guns called Cerberus and a coffin that is a machine gun and shoots out rockets. Finally it has my favorite ending song that will give me goosebumps whenever I listen to it.

FLCL has the best animation alongside having one of my favorite ost and with its wacky humor is what made me love it so much. I heard the sequels were not good as the original, but I was thinking of rewatching it at some point in the future. So I might compare the sequels to the original to see why it isn't good. Oh and you be surprised if I told you that my brother hates it.

Elfen Lied is one of few anime on the list I saw as a kid, but i never watched it until October of last year. I discovered the anime through death battle's Carnage vs Lucy fight and the only two things I knew about was that a dog dies, the MC family getting killed in front of him in a train. I forgot the anime existed until I watched a amv about gory anime where they showed nana getting her limbs torn off which peak my interests. Later in October of 2023 when I wanted to watch an another horror anime after watching the TV Hellsing anime, I decided to watch Elfen Lied after reading it up on Wikipedia where the first episode showed blood and nudity. And so after watching it become my favorite anime, probably because I got attach to the characters especially Lucy being my favorite character. The opening Lilium in my opinion is the best anime opening song of all time. Also you can read manga on the Wii? Learn something new everyday.

Gurren Lagann being my first Mecha anime would hold a special place in my heart, through the funny thing is that I never watched the 2nd half since as a kid because I hated the idea of characters growing older. But later in November of 2021 I decided to actually finish the series. But overall I love everything about the animation, the characters, and sorario days being one of my favorite anime opening. And also Simon being one of favorite male protagonist along side with lelouch.

Speaking of lelouch, you might remember I mentioned that watched a few Mech shows before I got into of Gundam. Code Geass was one of those anime I watched when I was in middle school. At the time before I rewatch the series, I remember having enjoyed the show but I didn't exactly remember much of it. I even was mixing up events like Shirley dying after lelouch first encounter with mao when it actually happened later, so I had to rewatch the show to refresh my memory. But overall it's probably one of the few anime I would watch a 100 times and never getting bored of it.

Most of the list other than Gurren Lagann, Code Geass, FLCL, and 0080 are all from last year but when time flies I will look back on the series with fond memories:)

I can wholeheartedly recommend Gunnm. Gally/Alita, a naive teenlike cyborg girl with the body of a deadly killing machine, is, in my opinion, one of the all-time great manga characters. The manga is also full of great world-building and action scenes.
